VIRGINIA CLUB CALF PRODUCERS

8TH ANNUAL EASTERN ELITE JANUARY 26, 2019 | HARRISONBURG, VIRGINIA | 6:30 PM following Heifer Show at the VCCP Winter Classic Jackpot Show.

Welcome

Welcome to the 8th Annual VCCP Eastern Elite Sale, held in conjunction with the 14th Annual VCCP Winter Classic Jackpot Show! This year we would like to welcome Craig Reiter of Prime Time Agri-marketing Inc. to join our sale team. Craig needs no introduction to those in the cattle business. He knows the genetics and the pedigrees behind these cattle, as most of the genetic ancestors originated or played a part in one or more of his many, previous sales. He is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to these cattle and will be available, along with Greg Sharp, John Spiker and the sale committee to answer any questions or discuss any of the sale lots. With that being said, we have the best offering this year that we have ever had. There are cattle and genetic lots in this sale that are going to make the new owners lots of money. Many are worthy enough to build a herd around that will keep giving for generations. It is said to be a better year to be buying than to be selling, so take advantage of this year’s sale offering. There is opportunity in this year’s sale, so don’t be the one wishing that you would have when it is too late. Study these cattle, study the pedigrees, notice the quality of the genetic lots, and get a feel for what these genetics and cattle can do for you and your operation. There is money to be made and success to happen in each division in this sale, but success can only happen if you take advantage. Thank you for your interest and please feel free to contact any of the consignors, sale staff or sale committee to answer any questions about the offering. If you are interested in bidding but are unable to attend, please contact the sale staff or pre-register with cowbuyer.com for online bidding. VCCP Sale Committee

Success Stories

1

In our 2014 Sale – Bushy Park bought a pack of Irish Whiskey eggs out of the Mimms Donor 4267. They sold two resulting heifers for $23,000 and $100,000. This may be unprecedented in any sale in the country! Congratulations to Cory Thomsen and Crew at Bushy Park. The resulting heifer from this embryo pack went on to be named NAILE Grand Champion Maintainer Heifer in both the junior and open shows, congratulations Mason Walker. Full sib embryos to these champions sell as Lot 68.

This Sim Solutions lot was consigned as a heifer pregnancy by Wehrman Genetics in the 2012 Eastern Elite sale and was purchased by G&B Cattle for $3500. They returned her to the 2014 sale as a bred heifer and sold her for $13500. This heifer is back this year as an Eastern Elite donor selling eggs as lot #82. In 2016 Butler Farms purchased the I-80 X SULL Pure Hottie 7033 embryos. Two of the resulting heifer calves ended up being lot 1 and lot 2 of the 2017 Butler Farms Apple Harvest Production Sale where each of them demanded north of 6K.

In 2013, Glenbrook Farm brought us Miss Look Who’s Blue, which was a top seller that year. She was purchased by Butler Farms, where she quickly moved into their ET program and has now became one of their most proven producers for the Butler Farms Apple Harvest Production Sale.

Great opportunity to one lucky winner!!! We will be drawing a lucky winner at the end of the sale to win one new pelican cooler full of supplies. Value will be in excess of $500!! must be present to win

This 3/4 Simmental heifer with a show of Maine on her dam’s side is not your typical Sim-Solution. She is super hairy and very extended through her front one-third. I was really happy with my Blaze of Glory calves in this crop. A Blaze of Glory steer out of a sib to this heifer’s dam was Champion Feeder Steer for use at the Augusta County Fair. She could show as Sim-Solution or Crossbred in my opinion. That is yours!

The embryos selling are full sibs to the 2017 Reserve Grand Champion Junior MaineTainer Heifer at the National Western. The 2017 win comes following a long list of other winning sisters and high sellers that 4267 has generated, including the 2016 NAILE Grand Champion Junior MaineTainer Heifer shown by the Walker family that also won countless other shows. This heifer sold in the 2015 Bushy Park fall sale for $100,000, while a full sib also sold in that sale for $27,500. Both of these pregnancies were a result of a past VCCP Eastern Elite purchase by Bushy Park.

Talk about a cow that was hot when she topped the First Class female sale in 2016. Well, she is hotter now. After she found her new home for Esqiure, Mimms and Sharp, her heifer calf won the Iowa beef expo and a steer just recently won The State Fair of Texas or Dallas steer show as it is known. All this a year after one of her calves won the Missouri state Fair Market steer show and another won the Badger Kickoff classic. With very few calves born Aggie has produced no less than 6 calves that have cracked the 20,000 mark. This lot is a true sale feature, and these are some of the hottest eggs that can be purchased.

Calves from this mating include a pair of winners and multiples in the $4000+ range, and Here I Am has sired a slew of recent major winners. She went on to reappear live and in person 2 years later as a bred heifer (and was carrying a very attractive Secret Weapon bull calf) in the Elite sale and became the all time leading sale topper @ $13,500 with an API of 173. This year she reappears again as a superb Simm/Angus donor cow. A cow that has produced 108 eggs in just 2 conventional flushes. Her heifer calf on the ground now out of Engineer has already hit the winners circle standing as reserve heifer calf champion in her first show as a Simm Solution.
