• Selling a flush to the bull of the buyer’s choice out of one of the most elite and up-and coming young donors in the Angus Breed today. 1601 was the $52,000 second high-selling ½ interest dam of the 2018 National Finals Female Sale, and has already amassed over $100,000 in progeny sales out of her first flush as a heifer. Daughters of her by Byergo Titus were the $50,000 valued selection of Edisto Pines (+233$B) and the $28,000 selection of fall 2018 E.T. babies in the 2018 Big Timber / Cigar City Online Sale, while a heifer pregnancy by Reno was the $9750 selection of Oakdale Farm from the 2018 Denim and Diamonds Sale. She is an own daughter of the $90,000 Rimrock and Evans Farms joint donor TCA Protégé Treasure 003 and is the top $Beef daughter of her sire Rito 2Q26 who resides at ABS Global and is one of the top Beef on Dairy Angus bulls in the business. She ranks in the top 1% of current Angus dams for CW, RE and $Beef; top 2% for $F; top 3% for YW; top 4% for CEM; top 10% for WW and $G; top 20% for Marb; and top 25% for $W. This is a golden opportunity to flush this beautifully patterned, absolutely gorgeous uddered two year old female to an elite sire to make daughters and sons that will be in the top of the breed and already have proven top earning potential. The flush will guarantee 6 transferable embryos, but will not exceed 10 transferable embryos and will guarantee 3 pregnancies to result as long as the embryos are implanted by a certified embryologist. 1601 calved in November and will be ready to flush immediately following the sale.

DIAMOND B ANGUS

Lots 4A through 4D present a rare opportunity to obtain female genetics from Barstow Queen W16, the dam of the 2019 Angus Foundation Heifer, KR Queen 8213, and most notably, Barstow Cash, a bull that was the talk of the 2012 sale season when he sold $108,000 1/3 interest to become the record selling bull at Barstow Angus. W16 was the $40,000 selection of Hart Angus Frederick SD; Diamond B Angus McDonough, GA; and GA & Williams Angus Ranch Harrison, MT from the 2017 NWSS Foundation Female Sale. W16 Records progeny ratios of: BR 3@98, NR 3@112 and YR 3@104. Her famous son, Cash, is a calving ease bull with strong growth and carcass values. His $W value ranks easily in the top 1% of non-parent bulls. Cash semen demand exceeds the supply and he remains one of the most highly sought bulls for superior performance, calving ease, visual appeal and marketability. It is pretty hard to document the total contribution made by her son, Barstow Cash in recent years on a national level but just within the Barstow herd he produced the two top-selling bulls of the 2016 Sale at $20,250 and $17,000. In 2015 he sired the five top-selling bulls at $51,000; $35,000; $19,000; $17,500 and $15,500. At Krebs Ranch, Cash sired the $50,000 top-selling, Lot 1 bull as well as a $20,000 son. In 2015, sons of Cash made the American BARSTOW QUEEN W16 • Dam of Lots 4A, 4B, 4C & 4D Angus Assoc. Sale report at $40,000; $40,000 and $32,500. Prior to her selling in January of 2017, no female had ever been sold out of Queen W16. The market is not already flooded with daughters which will give the buyer of these lots an open opportunity in an untapped market. Queen W16 has proven her ability to advance and improve the quality of Angus genetics in programs across America. Sons of Queen W16 have already been designated as feature lots in the bull sales of Barstow and Krebs. This donor will continue to enjoy tremendous exposure and publicity through the bull progeny that are marketed, promoted, and used, thus adding value to the daughters of W16. The momentum created by Queen W16 continues to build steam and pick up speed. The heights of her popularity have not yet been reached…the best is yet to come.

Producing cattle that possess fertility, longevity, and consistency are three pillars of our breeding program. The dam of this mating, Galaxie 0530, is an 8-year-old donor that epitomizes this philosophy. She has sons and daughters working in registered outfits in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, and we have retained multiple daughters in our own program. Clinton Laflin showed a maternal sister to 0530 to Grand Champion Female honors at the Western National Angus Futurity Junior Show in Reno NV. in 2008 under judge Jason Hoffman. Her sire C R R Emulous 26 17 was born in 1972 and was a leading performance sire of his day leading the breed for REA decades after his birth. Combining her consistency with the $51,000 high selling bull of the 2018 Denim and Diamond Sale, North Camp Silver Star 5103 has produced great results for us already, and we want to share this opportunity with you! Here is a chance to acquire embryos out of the matron of our donor program. Missie has done a tremendous job producing many high sellers for numerous operations. Missie 70Y was selected out of the Tree Lane Farms program and has continues to impress us the older she gets. “Missie” generated the high selling flush in the Denim and Diamonds sale in 2013 as well as a $5,000 daughter in the 2017 edition of Denim and Diamonds. “Missie” packs extra power, bone and dimension into a sound, attractive package. Her sire, Duff Hobart 8302, is one of the most impressive sire groups that we have seen in Angus, Sim Angus and club calf herds. Missie was selected Grand Champion Female at the prestigious 2012 Iowa State Fair. Don’t miss out on this unique opportunity to flush this up-and-coming donor with unlimited potential. The dam of Missie 70Y, Missie 8038, is a maternal sister to the most proven and productive Pathfinder Dam ever at Weaver Angus Farm, Waf Rally Missie 554. This foundation of the WAF Missie family produced the 1997 Indiana Preview Show Grand Champion, WAF Missie 7076, selected by the Patton and Turner families from the 1997 sale at Weaver Angus Farm; and her next two natural calves were consecutive Winter Heifer Calf Champions of the National Western. WAF Missie 8032, selected by Mercedes Danekas from the 1998 sale at Weaver Angus Farm, was the 1999 National Western Winter Heifer Calf Champion and went on to be a many-time junior show champion, returning to the 2000 California State Fair with her first calf at side to reign Grand Champion. WAF Missie 9057, a natural daughter, was selected by Mercedes Danekas as the $22,000 top-selling female of the 1999 Weaver Angus Farm sale and began her show career as the Junior Heifer Calf Champion of the 1999 American Royal, going on to reign as the second consecutive Winter Heifer Calf Champion of the National Western Stock Show. She is now owned jointly with Roth Angus in South Dakota and was the Grand Champion Owned Heifer of the 2000 Western Regional Junior Show, Grand Champion of the 2000 Atlantic National ROV Show and Reserve Grand Champion of the 2000 Dixie National ROV. FOOSE SHOW CATTLE & WEBSTER FARMS

LAZY H BAR FOREVER LADY 517 • Dam of Lots 34A and 34B

The donor dam of these matings, 517, was a stand out a couple years ago on the “Hill” when a flush was the $15,000 selection of Plum Creek from the 2017 Denim and Diamonds Sale. This is a great opportunity to own progeny of the most unique First Class daughters we have discovered. It’s not every day you find a big stout massive female that can still get out and move like a cat. Take advantage of this opportunity and make your next great one. 517 has been a fun one in and out of the showring and has gathered attention from cattlemen from other breeds. She was named Reserve Grand Female in the Junior Show at the Illinois State Preview and 5th Overall in the open show and won her division both days. She has had numerous breed championships and Supreme championships during her show career. The maternal grandam of Forever Lady 517 is the $75,000 twice National Western Reserve Grand Champion, VAR Forever Lady 4304,who was a past ROV Embryo Dam of the Year and generated more than $1 million in progeny sales. The Lot 34A mating to Esquire has already proven to be successful with the impressive progeny we have on the ground. The Lot 34B mating to Sensation is a new trend of mating performance oriented to show cattle and these cattle are good. Buyer guaranteed at least one pregnancy to result from each mating if implanted by a certified embryologist.

The sire of this mating, Growth Fund , offers flawless phenotype with breed impacting EPD’S! Growth Fund excels to the top of the entire Angus breed for Growth Traits and his Dollar Indexes and provides Calving Ease along with a Docility EPD at the top of the breed. Growth Fund is produced from a dam by Weigh Up, who we had the misfortune of losing at a young age, and traces to our foundation breed impacting donor, GAR EXT 614. Few recent Angus bulls have generated as much interest as Growth Fund. With a long list of performance assets, a pedigree portfolio built from blue chippers (Payweight/Weigh Up/5050/614), and a phenotype with high ratings, expect his yield to be a positive return for those who wisely invest in his genetic offering. The donor dam of this mating descends from the $15,600 Ratcliff and Christenson 4-D donor, Primrose L306, who is a flush sister to the now deceased WCC Special Design L309 and a maternal sister to EXT, EXAR New Look 2971, EXAR Foundation 1806, WCC Precision J239 and others and is a direct daughter of the now deceased Broken Arrow, Express, Rolling R3 and Vintage Angus foundation donor N Bar Primrose 2424, who sold for $100,000 at 17-1/2 years of age. L306 has generated $60,950 in progeny sales on seven lots sold at auction for an impressive average of $8,707.00. Buyer guaranteed at least one pregnancy to result if implanted by a certified embryologist.

5 P.M. THURSDAY, JANUARY 17

Sale Manager’s comments… Dear Angus Friends and Fellow Cattlemen, Welcome to the 17th Annual “Denim and Diamonds” Sale and our 10th consecutive year “On the Hill” in Denver. This unique event is the result of the continued collective efforts of forward-thinking Angus seedstock producers. The breeders represented in the Denim and Diamonds Sale have again worked together toward the common goal of assembling an offering of elite Angus genetics that combine performance with excellent phenotype to become competitors at any level in our industry. The genetics and EPDs represented on both sides of these pedigrees are second to none, as is the visual quality of the live offering. The 2019 sale offering is especially strong, and quality is present from Lot 1 through Lot 44. As the name suggests, “Denim and Diamonds” is a unique blend of two segments of the Angus industry and has always focused on cattle that shine like a “DIAMOND” on the outside while maintaining the strong genetic fabric, or “DENIM” under the hide needed to excel in the Angus breed and meet all facets of the industry. The 2019 Denim and Diamonds Sale combines the influence of the breed’s freshest, most valuable, and proven performance families with the deepest and most elite show prospects and herd sires in the country. The embryo matings and heifer pregnancies feature cutting-edge genetics that are progeny of some of the most popular champions, herd sires and donors in the industry. The herd-sire candidate, open show and donor prospects, bred heifers and the flush lots are from proven genetics and donors that are second to none. You will find the influence of the breed’s most proven and influential sires, both in and out of the show ring, are especially strong in this offering. The focus of this sale remains on quality, and you will find that, like a diamond, each lot is distinctive in its own way. Please evaluate your own situation and your breeding goals, and come Thursday, January 17 plan to join us at 2:00 p.m. following the NWSS Junior Angus Show in Expo Hall 1 to view the cattle and enjoy refreshments, and then at 5:00 p.m. in the National Western Beef Palace Auction Arena to take advantage of the knowledge and cutting-edge efforts of these breeders and their programs. Whether you are seeking your next herd sire, donor dam or your next show-ring champion, you will find it among this exceptional offering. If I can be of assistance in any way, let me know. Sincerely, Matt Sims Matt C. Sims Auction Inc.
