MOVE WITH US

REPORT JUNE 2015

TISSU PREMIER PREMIÈRE VISION MOVE WITH US A successful gamble for PREMIÈRE VISION with its launch of a new concept for TISSU PREMIER. On 10 and 11 June 2015, more than 1,300 professionals from the fashion industry attended the show now focused exclusively on fabrics, the core of the PREMIÈRE VISION offer. Première Vision chose the Halls de la Filature to host the revamped Tissu Premier, showcasing the latest trends and reserved for fashion professionals. The 85 exhibitors selected by Tissu Premier Première Vision for their quality and expertise in the areas of printing, knitted fabrics, yarn-died fabrics, woollens, silks and accessories quickly adapted to the new setting. “This historical site is very pleasant to work in, the lighting and layout of the stands makes it very clear to navigate.” Claire Vogt Sales manager for Velcorex since 1868 / Philea. Visitors also appreciated the beautiful site and the quality of the welcome which their visit even more enjoyable. Stéphane Vernet, CEO of Créations Robert Vernet also welcomed this change in site which has benefited exhibitors and visitors, as well as the new focus on fabrics. “At this regional show, we target and we meet with all the retail chains based in Northern France, Belgium and Holland». The same applies for the garment manufacturer DMK de Bondu, which came to look for materials to produce complete outfits for chains and retailers in the North. Henitex, a knit specialist, met with many garment manufacturers who also work with the leading chains such as Camaïeu, Promod, Morgan… Muriel Vekemans, children’s wear designer for Bruxelloise Trafic (80 stores in Benelux) visited the show to seek out the latest innovation to finalise her Summer 16 collection with items for high summer.

“Yellow and green are very popular this season and I am looking for ideas for using these shades in prints. We are developing floral, animal, nautical and fruit themes. As well as updating summer 16, this show also allows me to confirm that we have taken the right direction in the themes we have already worked on, and to make changes to colours, shapes and prints.” The conferences covering the latest information on Summer 16 and the trends for Winter 16/17 presented by the Première Vision fashion team and the style bureaux Nelly Rodi, Peclers and Promostyl were very popular with visitors to the show. The various surveys made with players in the international fashion sector allowed us to have a very clear idea of their needs in terms of materials, shapes and colours. In the aisles of the show, we also bumped into young designers from France and Belgium who are particularly fond of this event with its friendly format. “This intermediate period between the main season launches is ideal for quality discussions with exhibitors and for making discoveries”, declares Fanny Grosbois, the Parisian designer of French Demoiselles, a women’s ready-to-wear collection exclusively made from natural materials such as linen, silk and Calais lace. An opinion shared by the bow-tie maker, Monsieur Brumair, who came from Switzerland to meet the best suppliers of wool, cotton, linen and silk. The accessories supplier Magazzini Mercerie confirmed that “it is a good time to be exhibiting. The rest of the year it’s just back-to-back shows. Here we can take the time to really talk to our clients.” For the four people from the Icode design studio (IKKS Group) based in Cholet, Tissu Premier is “the show that allows them to start thinking about winter 16/17”. Claire Vogt, Sales director for Velcorex since 1868/Philea, attending the show for the first time, was delighted to have made good contacts with companies that have a long-term vision and will be back for the next edition of the show. And when we ask exhibitors about the habits of their clients they tell us “there are no rules anymore, each client works at their own rhythm and on different seasons, it all depends on the structure and their organisation, their positioning and the type of products they offer.” “Our clients need to be constantly supplied, they work non-stop,” explained Frédérique Deveaux, Chairman of Lucien Deveaux, one of the best known of the master weavers from the Lyon region. For the printers KBC and Sprintex, the collections are prepared so far in advance that the offer has to be readjusted and updated, clients want the designs they have seen in the latest catwalk shows. And Laurent Bigot, from the company Côté Textiles, adds, “we are being asked for more and more bespoke production and exclusive prints to adapt to the themes of our clients who often have their own in-house style bureau.” Fashion is in perpetual motion and the Tissu Premier Première Vision show has taken the right direction.
