We thank you for taking the time to look thru our boar offering. It has been a truly unbelievable 1 st year. We have had over 800 customers and that number and the names on that list is mind-numbing. The whole deal launched @ Mach speed when Chris Jones unloaded Superman off his trailer and onto ours at 3 in the morning in an Oklahoma hotel parking lot and we knew he demanded to be treated like the Superstar he has proven to be. At that point we knew it was “ALL IN” time and we added Fare Warning & Bone Collector and it has just been an absolute whirlwind since. We would not be able to offer the sires we can without great partners who chose to work with us even though many times they could have “cashed” for a much larger initial payoff. We believe we have as elite a set of boars as you will find anywhere. We do not say that arrogantly but we say it in absolute awe and humbleness We appreciate all of the comments on our marketing and assure you we are promoting boars that we believe in. We are very proud of our call-answer rate which is in the high 90% range. We work extremely hard to deliver quality semen and have been blown away at the awesome conception rate our customers have achieved. I would like to introduce you to the Premium Blend Team Our oldest son Jake graduated in December 2011 from IU with his Speech & Hearing degree and initially he & I were going to just handle the stud on the side. It became quickly apparent that was not going to work. Jake has been obsessed with pigs since he could crawl and STUDIED every magazine he could get his hands on for as long as I can remember and still does today. When he was younger, his punishment would be taking the pig magazines away. Jake’s knowledge of pedigrees several generations deep is a valuable asset to us in helping us and our customers with breeding decisions. Jake will focus primarily on the breeding and showpig side of things as we move forward. Garrett Cole came aboard in September as things kept rolling. Garrett has a proven eye as demonstrated in his repeatedly “getting lucky” and buying a young pig that everybody else passed over and having major success. He capped that with domination of the SE conference with his York litter that included the $17K champion boar – Cole Mine. Garrett also brings a reputation for giving an honest opinion on what he sees in a hog and he knows he is to keep on doing that. Jake & Garrett, like them a little different but they both read the fundamentals the same and they are a great balance as we make boar decisions. Garrett will handle most of the Boar Stud and boar care activities in the future. Blake Goss agreed to join on late in 2012 as a man-on-the street for us in the Southwest. I remember the 1st time I saw Blake show @ the NJSS. He looked like he was 2 years old and he was one of the best showmen I had ever seen. I had the opportunity to meet him a few years ago @ Duncan and was immediately impressed. We got together again when we saw the video of their boar Bone Collector and worked out a deal with Blake & Ty Goss & Larry Byers. Blake keeps us up-to-date and scouts out the southwest for us and can be contacted about the boars and showpigs we have available. He also brings the added bonus of always calling me “SIR” which is very much different than how I am usually referred to around home. Our middle son Nolan has been working full-time since January and will continue thru the summer and then he will be working part-time as he completes his business degree. Nolan is responsible for re-lighting our Poland passion the last few years. Nolan loves the farrowing house and his favorite place is sitting on a bucket behind a sow and reading the latest mag or stud catalog . Nolan is the primary lead on all farrowing / nursery duties along with being Mr Fix-it. Our youngest son Mitchell will be a senior @ Rushville this Fall and is the clean-up and organizer of the clan and takes care of things like loading the truck/trailer and making sure things are ready to roll. I describe Mitch as the “Mike Paul” of the group – doing the stuff that nobody notices but you are in a world of hurt it if they do not get done. Mitchell loves the red ones and had the pleasure of showing Molly—the $11,000 grand gilt at the 2009 STC that we purchased from Malcolm’s. Our daughter Morgan is graduating from IU this summer with her Psychology degree with a minor in marketing. Morgan helps me with our advertising – usually telling me that I try to pack way to much stuff in our ads and to quit using seventeen different fonts in one ad. My mother & father -Faith & Bill - have helped us tremendously over the years and Dad runs errands and delivers semen and pigs for us and provides entertainment for the guys (especially Garrett) free of charge. My wife Regina is truly the backbone of our family and does all the stuff that keeps us going/ She has been a “boarstud widow” for nearly a year now and I am very grateful for her hard work and patience. God is good and he has blessed our family and our team beyond measure and I praise him for that. Thank you, Ted Laird

Royal blood runs thru Superman's veins as his sire was Bar None – the Reserve Overall weanling at Duncan and his dam was the 2011 Champion Berk gilt @ Houston . Superman and his littermates cut a wide swath thru Texas last spring. Six littermates shown – Superman wins 5 out of 6 Dark OPBs and comes to PBG – his littermate boar goes to Stephens (unfortunately passed away early) – 4 gilts shown stand 1st - 2nd & Champion Overall Purebred @ San Angelo and the other 2 go 1st -3rd & Champion Berk @ Houston. When we described the 1st boar we brought in for the stud with the following comment: “…..we knew things had just changed and we were now being handed the best Berkshire boar we had ever seen – period – no debate – no question – not a close second. “ we sure hoped he would back it up…... HE HAS!!! Certainly one of the more dominating siring performances given the results he has produced in his 1 st 2 crops to date. 2012 Fall crop: Champ Berk Male ‘12 Fall Classic , Res Berk Male ’12 Fall Classic , Houston Champ Barrow (2 Class Winners ), OYE Reserve Champ Barrow (2 Class Winners), OYE Class-Winning Gilt , Team Purebred Champ & Reserve Overall Barrow, Reserve Gilt San Angelo, Reserve Gilt San Antonio, Ft Worth Champion Boar. & several other Champion Berk & AOB barrows & gilts. 2013 Spring crop so far includes 8 of the Top 10 selling Berkshire gilts on-line - $7800 (record weanling), $5100, $5000, $3500, $3500, $2700, $2500 & $2500 ($4025 Avg) — as well as several high selling barrows. We are thrilled Superman’s full brothers—Dark Knight and Big Gulp—as well as his son SuperFly were able to join forces with him @ PBG. What a line-up of incredibly powerful Berkshire genetics we can offer!
Different Strokes x Hattie (All You Want) Bred By Ted Laird & Family STRESS NEGATIVE EN18-3
Reg# 113329003
Heat Stroke was a February boar we did not do justice to in the hustle to get the stud started. We did him a disservice by not showing him at the open house but those that saw him later loved him and used him on some really good females. Many commented he was the best Berkshire boar they had seen all year. The most massive Berkshire we offer with a tail set and set to his rear two that is ideal AND it is all wrapped up in a perfectly marked jet-black package. Heat Stroke has visitors and us very excited. As we have discussed elsewhere, most of the boars in stud have some great females behind them and he has our best 2 Berkshire sows directly behind him on the bottom side – Hattie – Grand Gilt 2010 InSF & Miss Hathaway the 2008 Team Purebred Foundation Female who is the basis for everything in our Berkshire program. Heat Stroke babies have been very popular this Spring and his popularity has taken off as people have had the opportunity to see them.
Superman x (Gary x Miss Hathaway) Bred by Bred by Jones & Bennett Berks (Breeders of Superman) STRESS NEGATIVE EN 22-1
Reg# 115393001
SuperFly is the result of legendary genetics thru the mating of Superman (Bar None x Walk The Dog -2011 Houston Champ gilt) on a Gary x Miss Hathaway gilt we sold to Jones & Bennett. So when you have Bar None, Walk the Dog, Gary & Miss H as the grandparents this is what you would expect. The mother of Superfly was a littermate we sold to Adam Beck and produced their record $7800 weanling gilt , $5100 gilt & $21K litter and that gilt & litter would be full-sibs to Superfly as they were sired by Superman as well. Superfly's littermate gilts went 1-2 & Reserve @ San Angelo and Jones & Bennett have a littermate gilt that we think is very special as well. SuperFly was very popular in the trailer in Belton and we hope this picture will show you why we are very excited to see what he can do. If you like them stout and square and massive and clean-necked and sound and produced from legendary Berkshire greatness - we think we have a very good option for you to consider. We are very grateful to the Jones & Bennett firm for continuing to entrust great Berkshire genetics in our care.

EN 7-11 Reg #115392011
When we introduced Superman last year we stated - "We believed we were now being handed the best Berkshire we had ever seen – period – no debate – no question – not a close second" Superman has obviously done his part to back that claim up and we LOVE Superman as he got the ball rolling for us. But when we were handed Big Gulp, we think we just moved to a whole new level. Massive boned and massive chest and reaches out and just grabs the ground like his big brother but does it with a freakier front end that explodes out of his blade. OH MY!!!
Superman & Dark Knight’s Littermates went 1st & 5th in gilts & 6th in barrows & San Antonio. We are grateful to the Jones and Bennett Families for letting Big Gulp and his littermate Dark Knight join their brother at Premium Blend.

Dark Knight brings a unique package of Superman power in the largest framed most extended package to date. We think he can fit lots and lots of the power gilts out there to produce elite Berkshire showpigs. Superman & Dark Knight’s Littermates went 1st & 5th in gilts & 6th in barrows & San Antonio.
For those wanting to line up Superman, our recommendation is DARK KNIGHT!!!
Time Bandit X Head of the Class Bred by Keim’s STRESS NEGATIVE EN3-5 Reg# 103447005 9 State Fair Champ or Res Barrows in 2011 Not much needs to be said about this “living legend” in the Berkshire breed. Sired 9 State Fair Champion or Reserve Champion Berkshire Barrows in his 2011 crop including the Champion Berk barrow at Wisconsin that Warren Beeler said was the best he had seen! Torge’s track record of winning shows is unrivaled and we are thrilled to have him here at PBG. We loved him and his littermate sister at NBS and were not surprised that he accomplished what he did in his first full season. When we picked him up from Bryce this summer, it was even more obvious to us why he has been so successful. He is massive boned, extremely sound, and very tall at the point of his shoulder. We think this guy can continue his dominance in siring better Berkshires for many years to come! The buyers list of Torge semen is a who’s who of the Berkshire breed as they recognize the very unique things Torge offers. We have heard several reports of impressive Torge babies again this Spring and believe you will continue to see his offspring rise to the top. This purchase was a no-brainer for us as we plan to use him hard on Superman daughters – OH MY! We think Torge offers another very good option on Superman daughters. Shelbi Gordon just exhibited an OYE Class-winning gilt bred by the Gordon’s with that exact same lineage and confirmed what we thought that mating could produce.

EN 3-10 Reg # 110923010
Massive everywhere. We think Arnold is best described as Big Stick in a Berkshire package. If you need rib and top-shape - Look In!! Arnold is the most massive ribbed boar in the stud of ANY BREED Arnold is a product of a litter that is having a huge influence in the Berkshire breed in 2013. One of his littermate gilts was the $3700 weanling we sold to Adam Beck that produced his $7800 record weanling gilt, $5100 gilt and $21,000 litter. Another littermate was a gilt we sold to Jones & Bennett Berkshires (breeders of Superman, SuperFly, Big Gulp, & Dark Knight) that produced Superfly as well as the gilts that went 1-2 in class and Reserve Gilt @ San Angelo. Both Beck’s & Jones’s litters were sired by Superman. The other 2 gilts went to the elite Berkshire herds of Bert Byrd & Randy & Chance Waldrip and they were very impressive females as well . We said in our Fall catalog that we thought Arnold had a shot to be a legend for making Berkshire breeding stock for generations to come as he was a direct son of our foundation Berkshire sow Miss Hathaway and Gary Coleman– we think he is genetically packed with predictability. We are asked frequently what to breed Superman daughters to ? if you take Arnold back on them you will essentially be repeating a mating that has been demonstrated to be extremely successful so far!!!!!!

Massive boned but struts around the farm with his head up. Add to that the soundness, flexibility, height at the point of the shoulder and extension in his neck. Add to that the massive RIB CAGE. Add to that he is a HILLBILLY BONES son. Add to that he is HEAVYWEIGHT on CROSSBOW on his momma’s side. Add to that the fact that he is STRESS NEGATIVE. We think it all adds up to the TOTAL PACKAGE. Conception on all boars has been incredible and Bone Collector gets it done with the best of them. We know there are some really good options for Hillbilly Bone sons out there and we offer Bone Collector as a proven choice that can get it done from coast-to-coast. Bone Collector has had success beyond what we could have dreamed in his 1 st crop and capped that off @ OYE by being the only sire to put 2 gilts in the top 10 and tied for the most gilts in the OYE TOP 50 sale with 5. The most common question we get – “What does Bone Collector work on?” We know it can sound like a canned answer but the answer so far is – Females in heat!!!!! We have truly had incredible reports on almost any combo you can imagine. Having added his sons THUG & CHILL has us extremely excited for what the future holds. Bone Collector x Warfare $75,000 purchase Bred by & Owned with Goss Showpigs STRESS NEGATIVE One year ago we gambled $45,000 on the purchase of Bone Collector from Blake & Ty Goss & Larry Byers as our headlining exotic as we laid the foundation for Premium Blend. He hit beyond what we could have hoped for this winter throughout the south and southwest and reports continue to be tremendous this Spring from coast-to-coast. BONE THUG is Bone Collector x Warfare with his grandma being the tremendous Larry Moore Square-D pure Yorkshire who is an impressive beast and has been a tremendous generator for the Goss's. BONE THUG has his daddy's look but is in a more moderate package and is built like a cross between a pit-bull and a rhino. THUG looks like he was constructed with a square and a level - and that level runs up-hill from his tail to the tip of his nose just like his dad. We think he will be a BARROW-MAKING MACHINE. With the addition of BONE CHILL and BONE THUG we think we have assembled a line-up of Hillbilly Bone descendants that can fit your females any way you need to take them .
Bone Collector x Legacy Bred by Lawyer Showpigs Purchased from Chris Postier STRESS NEGATIVE Massive everywhere with his daddy's style and design. Most loved Bone Collector as far as his massive bone, design and up-headed style but some wondered about rib and body. Bone Collector buried that concern about 5 miles deep this winter and nobody will ever worry about Bone Chill in those areas. Truly MASSIVE everywhere you look. Thrilled to get this son in stud and rolling.
Bone Chill's mother raised the Solomon gilt that was Reserve Cross and 3rd Overall @ the 2011 InSF and is consistently one of the top producers for the Lawyer's. Bone Collector is on an awesome run with barrows & gilts in Georgia, Louisiana, Texas, & Oklahoma and we are confident Bone Chill will help build on that success.
Swagger x Heatwave

We had discussed purchasing a Swagger son with Jesse for a few months so on our way back from an awesome OYE, we stopped thru to see 3 sons he had retained We were very impressed with all 3 of the boars. When we were able to finalize the purchases of BONE THUG & BONE CHILL for our exotic line-up, we figured we were out of the picture on any of them. But when the boar Jesse told us most resembled his dad was going for what we thought was an absolute steal, we could not pass him up. If Jesse had said we could have the #HASHTAG for $6000 when we stopped thru, I would have loaded him in the back seat of the car - and it was my wife's car!!! Here are Jesse’s words describing #HASHTAG - “89-1 represents everything that's been so good and so consistent with Swagger offspring. Of this trio, he's the most 'typical' of a Swagger-sired boar in terms of his look, body shape and muscle. This boar is absolutely monster chested and extremely square from his blade to the ground. His back shape starts immediately behind a massive blade that sits wide and he's as square and true all the way back as you'll find. He has the patented Swagger 'look' - his head carriage is naturally high and without effort. Many Swagger barrows seem to find another gear when the drive wears on and this guy is no exception. He's as mobile and athletic as you'll find for one with this much width and muscle. When I say this one is a typical Swagger, I also mean this one should generate like Swagger. He should stamp the same look, muscle and build consistently - and that consistency can be awful hard to find in this business. This boar truly represents everything that has been so good with Swagger and we're excited that he'll get his chance in Arlington, Indiana. Thanks guys! “ Simply put we think #HASHTAG is as close as your going to get to Swagger semen this Spring unless you ponied up big time in the On-Line auction. He has been extremely popular so far and if he
comes anywhere near his dad – this will be one of the best investments we have made and will provide a valuable option for our customers.
Big Guns x Perry's Friday Sow $50,000 Private Treaty Purchase from Perry Genetics STRESS CARRIER Feet and legs-dead square. Toes-perfect. Pasterns-Ideal. Comes out of his blade with incredible power. Massive chest. Incredible top-shape that blends very smoothly back into his ham - and that is where we and those that have seen him in person think he is absolutely one of a kind. We have never seen a stifle that is this full and square all the way up to the tail head - it is almost literally straight across from his tail head out to the edges of his massive hams - which look like they were chiseled out of granite. Sounds freakish as you describe is yet it all blends together perfectly. You just have to see it in person to appreciate what the Perry's have pieced together. Several have commented that he has as close to a show steer rump as any pig they have seen. We had quite a parade thru as soon as we got him home and the comments on GunSlinger have been incredibly humbling and we are truly grateful to the Perry's, and all of the breeders who have worked with us, to build what we think is one of the premier boar line-ups you will find anywhere. GunSlinger’s semen is the most active we have seen with multiple tsunami swirls on the slide and last fall he hit in the low-to-mid-90% range. We made it very clear to customers last Fall and continue to do so this Spring in advising that GS’s semen is best used in the first 5 days – if you use it in that time frame it is as close to a true an actual guarantee settle as we know. Maybe we shouldn’t say that in public but we want to earn your business and not just to take your money. If you have been watching on-line sales this Spring, you will probably have noticed that many of the top breeders in the country are raving about their GunSlinger babies. Looks to be a fun summer!
Fame Monster x Super 8 Bred by & Owned with Desert Showpigs STRESS CARRIER We went to WPX thrilled with Bone Collector and Fare Warning already at the head of an exotic boar line-up that we are very pleased with – but you gotta watch because you never know. We thought Desert Showpigs exhibited a boar that looked like he could do some very interesting things. Judge Jason Hirschfeld described this guy as being a “creature” - and we thought that was a perfect description – unfortunately that name is taken! This guy is WAY out there in bone, width and muscle and we said if he throws that into his babies – it will be really fun to watch. Not for the faint of heart – he is a MONSTER! Monster Quest has been a visitor favorite and his first litters are on fire in California and his babies have been reported as barn favorites at many of our customers this Spring. The customer list on Monster Quest has some of the most elite herds in the country and that list is growing quickly as word spreads. Many said last year they had to breed at least one to him so they wouldn’t look like an idiot if he hit. Well – It looks like he is hitting – GRAND SLAMS!!! Winners so far – (Champion Prospect & Reserve Overall Western Bonanza, Reserve Progress Barrow – Western Bonanza, Grand Overall Empire Classic, Grand Overall Northern Exposure
Ya Know x Drop Shot Bred by W-D Swine STRESS CARRIER We have always admired the WD Swine program and have been looking for the right “WADTJE BLUE” boar that we to come to PBG. We think we have found that boar in B.B. KING! Not only does he bring the trademark look, design, and balance that the W-D firm is known for—but he has added mass, bone, and power that we think sets him apart!!!! The ultra-attractive blue color scheme is out in full force in this guy making him a unique sire that we highly recommend! Seems like everybody wants at least one “Blue” boar in stud. We didn’t just want any “blue” we wanted a GREAT “blue” boar and we think we found him- B.B .KING – the king of the “BLUES”!
9-to-5 x Batman Bred by Triple L Showpigs STRESS CARRIER Out of Fischer's ultra popular 9-to-5 Warfare son on a Batman dam, he is as square and correct as they come. He looks like he was manufactured with a level and a square with joints as clean as they get. Night Shift's pasterns are up where they need to be and we think he will be able to help lots of issues there pretty fast. Growth pattern looks like he is going to be one that will let that bone develop while he cruises to weight. We think Night Shift will work great on big framed sows that need structure corrected while being able to add all the shape you would want. Night Shift’s littermate was Grand Overall @ the 2012 Wisconsin State Fair for the Lynd Family and we can see why!!!
Trading Favors x Black Rhino Bred by Grant Norman Stress Carrier The HULK -POWER-POWER-POWER---This is the popular boar that Grant Norman auctioned behind the barn in Duncan. When we saw this boar—two things came to mind—He could be the outcross to many popular bloodlines that we have been looking for—and we thought that this boar opened up through his chest floor, with perfect squareness from his blade to the ground as good as any we had seen since Fare Warning! Not only is he massive, he is very cool up through his front 1/3 and attractive in his overall design---he is a barrow makers dream! Unfortunately he hurt his hip on the trailer ride home from Duncan, so was very hard to get a picture that represents his true quality—but is now fully recovered and ready to roll! We were thrilled to purchase this boar and think he is one to use if you need to add power and mass in one generation---The Hulk!
FARE WARNING! X No Question Bred by Cook Family Livestock STRESS CARRIER Fare Warning! became very popular in a short amount of time and losing him early due to injury was extremely disappointing. So we are VERY pleased to be able to offer his direct son Warning Shot. Warning Shot combines WarFare’s dominating exotic genetics and blends that with a pure Hampshire mother who traces back to the great Mark Long Black Oak sow that has had as big an influence on the Hampshire breed in the last decade as any we know. Warning Shot’s paternal grandmother is ROXY – WarFare’s momma - and Warning Shot’s maternal grandmother raised the popular Crouch Champion Hampshire gilt @ the 2010 WPX that was bred by the Cooks. We have learned very quickly that you tend to see great boars coming out of a heritage of great females and the ladies lying behind Warning Shot are truly some of the most dominating producers in the showpig industry. Warning Shot brings the FREAK from the ROXY / WARFARE exotic line and combines that with predictable greatness from legendary purebred Hampshire genetics. We think he will make his daddy proud!!!!

EN 9-8 Reg# 114775008 If you are in the hunt for a Landrace to make them stout, moderate and showy, we are extremely confident BAD CAT is the best option we have seen for a long time. Similar to the statement we made when we got Superman - If his babies take after their dad, you are going to be in the hunt. We are trilled to have him in stud and very anxious to see what he can do. We honestly thought it wouldn’t be until the Fall that we would see much activity on Bad Cat – but some of the very elite Landrace breeders are getting in quick on this deal. We think he can be an absolute terror in the Landrace breed.
Buck 1-6 x Square D Bred by Austin Bertolino STRESS NEGATIVE EN 1-4 Reg# 337589004
One thing we know about red ones is that we really liked Riggs & Thurston’s Buck 1-6 boar at the 2011 STC. So, we were really interested when Austin contacted about this son of Buck 1-6 that he had raised. Really structurally correct on his feet and in his hip design but what hit us the hardest is how powerfully he comes out of his blade and back into his ham/loin. We think this Buck 1-6 son might give the Duroc breeders the chance to check a few items off of their list!

Homebody x Model T Bred by Ted Laird & Family Owned with Ronnie Outlaw STRESS NEGATIVE
EN 1-9 Reg# 476438009
Alabama Outlaw is a littermate the gilts we sold in the Fall of 2011 that went on to win Grand Overall Gilt @ 2012 NJSA Western and Champion Hampshire @ 2012 OYE. AO’s sire – HomeBody - (Son of Newnum's Reserve Overall Gilt @ 2009 NJSS) had a really good year in 2011-2012. For us he made Hampshires as correct and sound as any we have had in a long time. In addition to the NJSA Western Grand Overall Gilt and the OYE Grand Hampshire Gilt he also sired our Reserve Grand Gilt @ the 2012 Indiana State Fair Open which judge Steve Rodibaugh said "If you haven't tried raising a Hampshire gilt that is this correct and sound, you don't understand how hard this is to do". As the 2012 show season unfolded , Alabama Outlaw grew more and more valuable in our eyes as a really good option to get feet and legs back under Hampshires, while keeping the shape and muscle needed to win, and avoiding the dreaded bowling-ball joints. If you want sound Hampshires that still have the width, muscle, & look to get it done – we think Alabama Outlaw is built and bred to do that. AO has grown into a very impressive mature Hamphsire boar and are thrilled to show him to visitors.
Frozen In Time x Black Label 5-1 Bred by Peters Farm STRESS NEGATIVE
EN 24-1 Reg# 478174001 More than any other breed, we love trying to piece together Hampshires and we thought Black Ice would give us access to a very interesting piece to try to make it all fit together. We saw four things we loved about Black Ice – 1) front and rear toes that were short and evenly spread 2) naturally massive rib cage, 3) ideal rear hip design and 4) outcross to Model T. If you share the Hamp addiction, Black Ice may become the drug of choice! Littermates to Black Ice were Champion Hampshire Barrow Missouri State Fair, Hampshire Hog College Gilt & Hampshire Hog College Boar We have heard some really good reports on Black Ice babies and he has really matured well - retaining his shape and his super- clean joints. A valuable commodity in the Hampshire breed.

STRESS NEGATIVE Reg# 4771570004
We loved our Hampshire line-up heading into Indiana with Mayhem, Black Ice & Alabama Outlaw but we think we hit the jackpot with our purchase of Lamborghini Mercy (Lambo) from the Miller family. Structurally ideal yet tons of muscle and body and flat out explodes out of his shoulder. We knew we liked Lambo a ton at the show and were met with very positive comments from several elite Hampshire breeders on the purchase – but then we got him home and let him chill and - Oh My - it has been really fun watching him transform into a very complete but massive beast. Those that saw him both places tend to say the same thing – they thought he was pretty good – but now he is awesome and is one of the better Hamp boars they have seen in a while. This is a Hamp boar we can recommend to breed to almost any Hamp sow you have and we believe that is a very hard thing to find. We have been breeding Hampshires for 32 years and it has certainly been a challenging breed the last few years but we hope and honestly believe Lambo could help get things turned around. Lambo continues to look as impressive as he did at the open house and can flat motor all day long. We love showing him off.. For those that demand to drive only the very best – we offer Lambo!!!!!

Mark’d Man traces back to Mark Long’s famous Black Oak sow that has been as influential in the Hampshire breed for the last 5-10 years as any we know of. Another example of a great boar with Hall Of Fame female blood-lines backing him up. We hate to be redundant in describing him but -LOOK AT THAT FOREARM AND MASSIVE RIB AND HOW IT EXPLODES – (REPEAT AGAIN FOR EMPHASIS) - EXPLODES - ALL THE WAY BACK TO HIS HUGE STIFLE.. There was a pretty cool time not long ago when the Hampshire breed had a large group of very interesting and independent breeders who were constantly reaching out and trying things that they believed would make the Hampshire breed better. The night before the Indiana State Fair Hampshire show there would be huge groups getting boars out and studying and discussing them well into the morning. We think it would be an absolute blast seeing them study Mark’d Man . There are good cool-looking boars that take an awesome picture if you hit them for the absolute right nano-second and then there are BREEDING PIECES. We think Mark’d Man has some things that give him a shot to be a truly unique breeding piece in the Hampshire breed. We know we have never seen one like him!!!
Capital Investment x Long Time Coming Bred by Heartland Elite Showpigs STRESS NEGATIVE EN 11-2 Reg# 478666002 Mayhem is a Hampshire boar that is flat out exciting to us. He is moderate in his frame, HUGE in his bone and foot, extremely wide coming and going, all while traveling comfortably & straight on all four. We picked Mayhem out the night before the show as the Hampshire boar we wanted to bring home from Louisville and were very pleased when we were able to load him up. We believe that he has a shot to sire Hampshires that have the power, width, muscle, and bone necessary to compete in combination with the soundness, design, and skeletal correctness to make to show day! Mayhem’s mother was the Reserve Hamp Gilt at the 2011 Indiana State Fair. Mayhem’s littermate won Grand Overall Barrow @ Wabash County (IN) and that is one tough banner to bring home. We are planning to give Mayhem a really good chance on many of our very best sows. Reports on Mayhem babies have been tremendous this Spring. Mayhem was so massive we were concerned how he would handle it as he matured – we were thrilled when we got him out this Spring to see he looks better than he ever has. He can get out and roll all day long – AN IMPRESSIVE BEAST
Homemade 17-3 x (Homebody x Model-T Daughter) Bred by Ottenwalter Showpigs STRESS NEGATIVE EN 58-3 Reg# - 480417003 Momma’s Boy is the result of mating Homemade 17-3 to the Homebody x Model-T daughter we sold to Ottenwalters that grabbed Grand Overall Gilt honors @ the ‘12 NJSA Western. Possum’s littermate grabbed Champion Hampshire honors @ OYE that same year. Momma’s Boy’s paternal Granddam was Newnum’s 2009 Reserve Overall NJSS Gilt and his maternal Granddam is our foundation Model-T sow that Jerry McLemore told us was the best he had let go of when we purchased her. We have noticed pretty quickly that most of the boars that end up in the stud have at least one great female laying behind them and Momma’s Boy proves that point more than any other. Pictures usually don’t tell you much about soundness but we think you can get the picture that Momma’s Boy isn’t afraid of where his next step is gonna land……We think there are lots of Hampshire sows that can use what Momma’s Boy has to offer.
Pretty Good Hog x No Justice Bred by Boicken's $10,000 2012 STC Champion STRESS CARRIER
EN 6-3
Owned with Tucker Polands, Reg# 42673003
Our family roots run very deep in the Poland breed as that is where my Grandfather Chester Meal started in the purebred business in 1916. The Meal’s cut a pretty big swath in those days with their Polands showing 5 Polands to Grand Overall 4-H Barrow honors at the Indiana State Fair. We are committed to building our Poland herd to that same level of excellence. We went to Springfield hoping to find a great Poland boar to continue the building process and we hoped he would be an outcross to the great PSSS Nom Nom Nom. We heard about the Boicken boar very soon after we arrived and when we saw him we were pretty sure it was a Done Deal that he was the one we needed to bring home. This Poland boar is so opened up and stout from end to end, with great center body and mass. In addition to this, he has a very correct set to his angles and moves around the yard with ease. We are thrilled to own the boar we hope can move our herd and the Poland breed to new levels. Where DONE DEAL is good – width, and structure, he is really good! Judge Bill Range described this boar as being the Poland boar that can get things DONE where the Poland breed needs to get things DONE. We expect great things in the near future - we think it’s a DONE DEAL! The incredible reports on Done Deal babies started rolling in VERY early and continue to be reported. The set he laid in for us this Spring has blown us away. We are very excited about what Done Deal can do for the Poland breed.

Reg# 42929004
Fired Up is out of Wanda – the $7500 4th Overall Gilt from InSF in 2011 and Widfire at HiPont. We believe this could be a game changer for the Polands. You always wonder if you are getting barn-blind but when visitors keep stopping and asking about a 60 lb Poland boar, you start to think you might be right. He was a huge hit at the Open House and many are very anxious to get semen on him. Fired-Up’s two littermate brothers won day 1 & 2 @ 2012 Hogtoberfest and reports on his other littermates are very good as well. Massive everywhere and yet still sound and correct. This is the reason we decided we had to buy his mom or just start buying everything from Mr. Stephens. You don’t see Polands like her very often – like never– and we think Fired Up is following in her footsteps.
Ram It x S & L Bred by Matt & Tammy Miller $3,500 Champion Spot 2012 WPX STRESS CARRIER
EN 84-2
Reg# 149793002
DOUBLE TAKE is one exciting Spot boar! We love boars that we feel can be “movers and shakers” within their respective breeds, and when we saw DOUBLE TAKE in Des Moines, we thought he was one of the more extreme Spot boars we had seen! This is one massive, wide, heavy boned dude! We think he we was the widest chested boar we saw of any color in the barn at WPX, and we expect him to produce elite spot showpigs that will be tough to beat. If you need muscle, width, and PIPE – PIPE – PIPE – we proudly offer Double Take as an awesome option to fit your need. We had to do some serious convincing of some folks how good Double Take looked when we got him home. Many of them are now reporting that their best Spots are Double Takes and they are coming back for more.
Drive By x Drive By STRESS NEGATIVE EN 16-8 Reg# - 531090008 Bred by & Owned with WIU SOUND SOUND SOUND with muscle and a very hard to find pedigree. Our NBS boar purchase and NBS boar purchases can be challenging as many breeding plans are set and by the time you get a boar in stud and checked out and going, many of the ships have sailed. So, we were very encouraged that ENCORE was able to pull in some really good sows and we have heard many good things on his offspring. He offers one of the most unique and difficult to find pedigrees and does that in a very sound and functional package that we think
can find many females that could use what ENCORE has to offer.
SuperCell x The Grizz Bred by New Wave Genetics $5700 WPX Purchase STRESS NEGATIVE
EN 4-1
Reg# 531068001
We certainly have great respect and admiration for the Yorkshire breed but it is not one that we breed on a daily basis so we asked several Yorkshire breeders what they would be looking for in a Yorkshire boar to breed to their sows? The response was pretty consistent– get their pasterns up off the ground, moderate them so they don’t have to be 350 lbs to finish out, and get rid of their “jump” muscle. WELL - HERE YOU GO. To say we are very happy to have Cool Cell tucked away, settled in, and ready to roll would be a large understatement. He is moderate in his build, very wide and true front to rear, and boasts a very thick, expressive top that we think reads winning York showpigs. The traits that we think make him so unique for the Yorkshire breed are his expressive muscle shape, and that he has this shape without being too rigid or jumpy in his ham/loin junction. This guy also has an incredible appetite and has gotten better and better since we got him home! A very unique Yorkshire boar that we think can do many things to improve the next generation! Cool Cell has been popular since we got him but he has a near cult-like following in certain areas. Reports this Spring indicate that he is not disappointing his fan-base.
