TOTEM
This totem explore subtractive space and aims to create legible interstitial or shared space between two volumes by using previous iterations of 3”x3”x3” totems. Size: 3”x3”x9” 4
This drawing explores the use of figure ground in an interrelated series of plans, sections and elevations, to document the overlap of figural spaces within the totem. Size: 22 x 30 5

This model is part of a large installation comprised of neighborhoods of formal spatial constructions. Moreover, it is a 3-D interpretation of the Theo van Doesburg’s ‘Composition’ painting (1917). This hybrid model combines both tectonic and stereotomic strategies of model making. Through iterations, the model also works with neighboring models to create a rich, three-dimensional spatial conversation occurring between and across neighboring models.
Size: 9”x9“x18”

PRECEDENT ANALYSIS - HOUSE NA
I studied House NA by Sou Foujimoto as my precedent. I analyzed its spatial and formal elements in relation to the conceptual strategy taken in the design. By dissecting it’s parts, I created three conceptual projective models, to represent certain elements of House NA - tectonics (grid), private and public spaces, relation of wall to the creation of private space, etc.

These iterations of projective models exemplify the formal, spatial and organizational strategies that I found in my case-study house. They present alternative manifestations of the characteristics and strategies that I extracted from my case-study house - House NA. Size: 6”x9”x2”

PRIMORDIAL PAVILION The Primordial Pavilion directly extends from the production of the projective models. It exemplifies the formal, spatial, and organizational strategies found in my case-study house - House NA via my analytical investigations and through my projective models and drawings.
