ANGELO STICCHI DAMIANI ACI PRESIDENT The pandemic that devastated 2020 and that is still showing its brutal nature forced the world of motorsport to find alternative solutions and to devise new plans to survive. In this difficult year only the most competent and prepared structures emerged, those that managed to find a new balance and strength and devise innovative ways to go forward in the breadth of a few months. Among these, thanks to the talent and competence that have always characterized it, WSK Promotion managed to complete on track championships like Formula 4 and Formula Regional – where it is an important and operational arm of ACI Sport, as well as its karting series. This strong reality born in the heart of the Puglia region in Maglie completed a new successful season, which shows once more how the idea of Luca De Donno, that started back in 2006, was good and capable of attracting the attention of drivers, teams and constructors on the international scene. As usual, at the end of the season the time comes to publish this important volume. This is a collection of pictures and data, but beyond that, it is an additional chapter in a bigger book of a history that will continue overtime. This is what I wish Luca De Donno and his structure, which I believe is an important part of the world of motorsport promoted and supported by Automobile Club d’Italia. This world, I like to remind, in such a dramatic historic moment has been the protagonist on the international scene as the landmark for the restart of motorsport events.
La pandemia che ha devastato il 2020 e che ancora mostra tutta la sua brutalità ha costretto Il mondo del motorsport in generale a trovare alternative e studiare nuovi modi per continuare ad esistere. In questo anno difficile, sono emerse quindi solamente le strutture più competenti e preparate, quelle che in pochi mesi sono riuscite a ritrovare equilibrio, forza, ed essere capaci di studiare modi innovativi per andare comunque avanti. Tra queste realtà importanti anche quest’anno si è messa in mostra la WSK Promotion che grazie, al talento ed alla competenza che la contraddistinguono da sempre, è riuscita a portare fino in fondo sia i campionati in pista come la Formula 4 e la Formula Regional, dove è braccio importante ed operativo di ACI Sport, sia le sue varie serie karting. Una nuova impresa per questa consolidata realtà nata a cresciuta a Maglie nel cuore della Puglia che sottolinea ancora una volta quanto l’idea di Luca De Donno, partita nell’ormai lontano 2006, fosse giusta e capace di attirare nel tempo l’attenzione di piloti, team e costruttori a livello internazionale. Come di consueto a compendio di questa stagione, nasce questo importane volume. Una raccolta di immagini, dati, ma soprattutto un ennesimo capitolo di un libro ben più lungo che continuerà nel tempo. Questo l’auspicio che faccio a Luca De Donno e alla sua struttura, ritenendola parte integrante e importante del mondo del motorismo sportivo patrocinato e supportato da Automobile Club d’Italia. Un mondo che, mi piace ricordare, proprio in questo drammatico momento storico, si è reso protagonista assoluto a livello mondiale come punto cardine della ripartenza di tutto il motorsport internazionale.
