Dear Reader For some reason New Year’s Eve is an epoch-making event for many of us. A new, blank year seems to inspire us to reflect on the past year and dream of changes in the year to come. That’s how we feel here at the editorial office. One of our new initiates is the column that starts with this January edition. We continuously receive input from our dear readers about all kinds of exciting topics, and we often want to share this input with all of you. Another one of our new ideas is something that we actually implemented a few months ago; our articles “All about the style”. Each month we feature an article about something that defines this style. We show you how to use that item in your interior design and tell you the story behind it. This month it’s something as classic as French church candlesticks. We also show you how to furnish your home within different budgets by making two arrangements: one with Nordic flea market finds and one with French antiques. In 2015, we plan to let you take a peek behind the scenes here at the editorial office, starting with pictures of us, the staff members, and a description of our everyday work. In addition, we begin the new year with the slightly different theme of dressing rooms that are finding favor in many homes these days. Add to all this lots of wonderful winter homes, delicious food and some inspiring “do-it-yourself ” articles – you’re in for an exciting magazine! Enjoy!

Throughout her house you can gaze at beautiful old textiles, dressmaker’s dummies, vinta ge clothes, f aience and much more. Lettie and her husband had always wanted to buy an old far m. Lettie’s passion for antique and beautiful f lea market finds star ted ten years ag o when she came across a pair of antique, black children’s shoes. At that time, their house was still fur nished with new things, mainly from the lifestyle shop where Lettie worked. Slowly but surely, the furnishings were replaced with old furniture and items from Lettie’s numerous f lea market visits, creating the personal and unique home that she has now. In the living room, Lettie uses cupboards and fur niture with drawers to exhibit her absolutely fantastic collection of old textiles. She has ever ything from exquisite bobbin laces, laces and other r ibbons to the most beautiful bedding, tablecloths with matching linen napkins and other unique textiles. She uses the textiles throughout the home as cur tains, on fur niture and for other decoration pur poses, and piles of textiles are scattered throughout the house just for the sake of decoration and ever yday joy. Her newest passion is old dressmaker's dummies and mannequins, vintag e clothes, ballet costumes, children’s c l o t h e s a n d s h o e s, a n d l a s t b u t n o t l e a s t V i c t o r i a n shoes and boots.
