There's a time in each year That we always hold dear, Good old summer time; With the birds and the trees- es, And sweet sc ented breezes, Good old summer time, When your day 's work is over Then you are in clover, And life is one beautiful r hyme, No trouble annoying, Each one is enjoying, The good old summer time. In the good old summer time, In the good old summer time, Strolling thro' the shady lanes With your baby mine; You hold her hand and she holds yours, And that 's a ver y good sign That she's your tootsie wootsie In the good old summer time. To swim in the pool, You'd play "hook y" from school, Good old summer time; You'd play "r ing - a- rosie" With Jim, Kate and Josie, Good old summer time, Those days full of pleasure We now fondly treasure, When we never thought it a crime To go stealing cher ries, With fac e brown as ber ries, Good old summer time. In the good old summer time, In the good old summer time, Strolling thro' the shady lanes With your baby mine; You hold her hand and she holds yours, And that 's a ver y good sign That she's your tootsie wootsie In the good old summer time. Dear Reader

I really feel like telling you about my old parents. My father is 83 years old but still very active considering all his infirmities. He plays golf, takes care of their big house and garden, and does creative projects in his smithy. Amongst other things, he just molded a table top with integrated natural stones for a set of iron garden furniture that he made many years ago. The furniture looks just like the old French sets so we absolutely adore it. This garden set was made long before such furniture became popular. Unfortunately, the table top had turned a bit rusty but instead of getting rid of it, my father made this funny, new table top out of concrete. In addition, he has taken to a new hobby lately – cooking – which has never before been of any interest to him. He experiments like crazy and he wants to make healthy food because he’s been on a diet and has actually managed to lose 1.5 stone in spring. That is a great accomplishment at his age. He finds lots of inspiration in the recipes here in our magazine because “they are easy to use!” he says. Can you think of any better praise than that? My mother (78) has gotten into painting with our lime paint. Witnessing her enthusiasm is very life-affirming for me and I hope that my parents can inspire everyone else to stop limiting themselves. Yes, the things you are good at might change in the course of life; however, then you just look for something else to do. We hope to provide inspiration to all age groups through our magazine. Our group of friends and family also includes many young people who are just as crazy about this style as we are, so obviously, the style appeals to people of all ages. That is just fantastic!

Lonnie & Vivian

We wish you lots of positive inspiration and a nice summer!

Lottruphus is located in Hammershøj in Denmark and is one of those places that are rarely found anymore these days. The house is grand and splendid, and the garden too. Not many people have a garden of 2.5 acres (10.000 m²) but the house owners JP and Ole do. The house was constructed in 19391940 for dry goods store owner Jens Ring Cleemann, and it wasn’t his home but only his summer residence. Back then was a completely different time when the well-off middleclass moved into their summer residences in the countryside in May and didn’t return to their homes until October. Jens Ring Cleemann was born on the neighboring farm of Lottrupgård. Later in life, when he had established a thriving dry goods store, he was able to construct Lottruphus in his native place.

The garden was established at the same time as the house was constructed but not in the current shape. In 1984, when JP and Ole came along, the garden changed a lot. With its large, old trees and beautiful grass areas, the garden resembles a park but it also contains a path system that takes you to the four terraces and no less than nine pavilions.
