Dear Reader

This October magazine is full of good stuff. Now that autumn has really set in, it’s time for all the indoor activities that we like so much. That’s why this edition features both inspiring homes and articles with lots of good ideas for fantastic things that you can make yourself for your home or perhaps as a Christmas present. Perhaps you’ve already started thinking about Christmas? Well, we sure have….in fact, we think about it all year round. Still, you’ve got to wait a little longer because we’ve chosen to enjoy autumn and all its charm for just another few weeks. What we love right now is to go for long walks in the forest and by the sea, taking in the smells of autumn. The smell of the forest floor on a rainy day. The smell of salty seawater. The feeling of a strong autumn wind blowing right through your clothes. Or the silence on a calm autumn day. This is a very special time to spend outdoors. Apart from all the smells, the forest looks absolutely stunning with the falling leaves and a completely new look. Actually, all those colors can make it seem as if the forest is on fire. If you’re confident enough, you can collect mushrooms, nuts and wild berries in the forest. We’re not very knowledgeable in this area so we’ve chosen to buy our mushrooms from the greengrocer ’s for the food article in this edition. If you’ve got a book on mushrooms, you might want to go hunting because collecting your own food has a special feel to it. This is also the perfect time for collecting all the ingredients for your Christmas herb aquavit and it’s the best time for spotting many of the forest animals such as red deer and beautiful bird migrations.
