How to design critical thinking lessons and why it matters.

If there is no critical thinking in the obligatory curriculum at your school, you probably wonder how you can combine this training with your scheme of work.
In this session we will show you how you can design the lessons to fullfill both: the obligations arising from the current curriculum and the requirements of 21st century.

Teaching which is focused on the TRANSFER of curriculum facts builds up only a limited knowledge base among students.
Teachers who develop the students’ competence to SEARCH for knowledge, promote their critical thinking as well as the ability and need to learn.
Task 5. Watch the astronaut on the Moon conducting the experiment.
Watch the original shots which document the experiment performed by the astronaut during the Moon walk and analyse the obtained information. video
Describe, what this
experiment was about. What was the result of the experiment? Why? Discuss with your teammates.
Task 6. Check what will happen if you drop two different objects: one heavy and one light.
Prepare a sheet of paper and a small ball. If you do not have a
ball, you can make it using any flexible
material: plasticine, dough, clay, mashed potatoes or yam, and so on.
