Dear Reader

We’re very happy to present this edition of the magazine to you, once again offering you a wonderful mixture of articles. There’s something for every taste: for the creative you, for the romantic you, for the you who loves rough factory style. But first and foremost, finally summer ’s here and that shows in all the articles. When we did the article on the garden party, which you’ll find in this edition, it happened to be one of the most wonderful summer days. Already as of early morning, we felt that this was going to be a really lovely day. There was no wind, and it was nice and warm. The party took place in the marvelous setting of ”Sleeping Beauty ” that used to be ours. Here, the atmosphere is always incredibly calming. Walking round between the trees, laying the tables and getting everything ready, was such a fantastic experience. We want to encourage you to make good use of every single opportunity for organizing an outdoor get-together because they ’re just so special. On rainy days, perhaps you’d like to do some nice indoor activities, and we’ve included plenty of those in this edition as well. Enjoy reading!.

A MAN'S ROOM

4

A MAN'S ROOM Marcel van Bergen lives just outside the

town

of

Rotterdam

in

Holland.

He’s got a creative mind and after his divorce a couple of years ago he decided to furnish his home in his very own style. Marcel has been living here for 26 years but for the past two years he’s been turning the house into a true man’s cave: rustic, practical, extremely innovative and beautiful. The style is industrial and raw. A

very

easy

way

of

achieving

an

industrial look is by hanging three old industrial lamps above the dining table.

Use

metal

chairs

instead

of

upholstered ones. 5

A MAN'S ROOM Marcel found an old factory window which he installed on the wall. Behind the window are all kinds of hidden gems. Below the window is a shelf made with a piece of old wood and the shelf is full of funny, old tins. Place old suitcases on top of cupboards and

furniture.

They’re

great

for

storage and look very decorative at the same time. Big, old, rustic cupboards made of wood or metal and with lots of patina adorn the home in every room and highlight the style.
