Dear Reader
We’ve said it many times before but we’ll say it again: there’s something magical about living in a country with four seasons. Watching nature change its colors to a beautiful mixture of shades of green, brown, yellow and red is simply fantastic. The smell of the forest floor when we go for an autumn walk. The joy of looking forward to Christmas. One moment, we’re faced with strong winds and rain – we call it proper autumn weather and this sort of weather really makes us feel alive when we’re outdoors. A minute later, the sun is shining and we can still enjoy a cup of tea in a corner of the garden, at the coffee houses in town or in the park. With autumn and winter coming up, we look forward to being indoors and having a cozy time, and during the next few months, we’ll be focusing on doing small and big projects together. In this edition, we’re offering you lots of inspiration on autumn coziness and plenty of ideas on how to create a nice atmosphere both indoors and outdoors. As usual, we’re visiting lots of inspiring homes, and if you find that your own home needs a makeover and a new winter look, you’ll find plenty of inspiration here. You can do magic by simply exchanging a few cushions or adding an extra blanket – preferably in the colors of nature. Add a few pelts and some beautiful grasses too. Fill up the place with lanterns both indoors and outdoors, and focus on using light to create lots of atmosphere. We wish you a nice autumn season and lots of fun reading the magazine!

The Captain's House
Stepping into Gunilla’s and Tom’s old captain’s house is like stepping right into an old novel: the entire house tells a tale through a mixture of beautiful Swedish antiques. This is a home with lots of details. The town of Helsingborg is Sweden’s gateway to the continent. Being close to the sea has created a vivid shipping industry here and this is also mirrored in the beautiful architecture of this area. The so-called captains' houses were all built by captains, and these houses are now memorials at a time otherwise marked by rapid development both in Helsingborg and in the coastal areas of the Kulla peninsula. Gunilla and Thomas live in such a captain’s house less than 320 feet from the water. On the outside, the house is more inspired by the British 19th century style than by Swedish construction traditions. The two-story house is made of bricks and has lots of angles and intricate rooms, various ceilings, beautiful windows and doors, and decorative details that create charm. 5
