LETTER FROM THE EDITOR then we salute you.

Greetings my friends,

Greetings my friends,

Edibles Magazine™ Issue 52

It’s 2019 and getting more and more surreal everyday. Congratulations for making it this far. Hemp farming has been legalized but the government has been shut down. Athletes are being invited to dine at the White House but being served food from the dollar menu. Licenses are being issued in Los Angeles but they’re licenses to “not operate”. It’s a non-stop revolving door of catch 22s dripping in semiirony. There’s so many jokes in there it’s exhausting but at least the industry is still grinding along and if you’re still in the cannabis business

The Maui Cannabis Conference was in early January and it was really cool event. We were there with our press booth and speaking about The History of Edibles. We met a lot of great people from all the different islands of Hawaii, tried some great THC and CBD products from Maui growers and manufacturers, and drank lots and lots of Kava. I was told that Kava’s effects are mild: one or two cups will make your face numb, a large amount will make you feel relaxed and sleepy. It was prepared by a very nice native family in the traditional Polynesian fashion and sweetened with honey. I really enjoyed it and probably had 10 cups throughout the event. It still amazes me that Hawaii is such a warm tropical paradise in the dead of winter, even when you’re stuck in a dark hotel ballroom. Very much looking forward to going back next month for the expo in Honolulu. This issue is The Bill Issue and we’ve packed it full of stuff about

10

Bills, like The Farm Bill, and 7 Other Cannabis Bills including HR 420. We also cover The Ontario Lottery, the status of prop 215, and review another Netflix series: Murder Mountain. Watch Murder Mountain if you can, it really gets into the dirty details this business is full of and illustrates in disturbing fashion how important decriminalization of cannabis is. We’ve also got the news, recipes and reviews you’re looking forward to and a new Edibles crossword too. Enjoy Issue 52 and welcome to the new year! As always, smile at your budtender, tip your delivery driver, and know your dose. “Truth is not obliged to stick to possibilities.”
