DEAR READER Every year, around this time, we start to feel the bubbly sensations of spring in our tummies. They arrive slowly bure surely as the days grow longer and lighter. Snowdrops and winter aconites appear on the forest floor. I get this indescribable urge to tidy up, clean, move things around and paint! In my case, energy returns along with the light. It ’s time to come out of winter hibernation and I have so many ideas and projects that I’d like to start. I make lots of long lists and look for inspirational pictures everywhere. Sometimes, I might be just a little bit too optimistic about how much I – and not least my husband Lars – have time to do every year in spring, and that ’s also something that happens every year. I feel that summer is so far away and that I’ve got plenty of time for lots of ideas. And then suddenly, summer is here and we didn’t manage to finish all the projects. Still, I love every single one of the projects that we did have time for. I also love planning them, accompanied by Lars. Throughout the years, such projects have become our shared hobby and we enjoy the creative process, from idea to reality, as much as the finished project. These are our small breathing rooms in everyday life and many of them actually find their way into the magazine, too – hopefully as inspiration for you. Enjoy reading!

All the best, Vivian

The dream house

ZUM LINDENHOF The place that we’re visiting is in an idyllic location in a small village in southern Germany. Almost 20 years ago, Claudia and Niels drove past, seeing their dream house for the first time. Many years later, when all five daughters had flown the nest, they suddenly had the opportunity to buy the place – the former inn and farm "Zum Lindenhof" from 1893. "When we walked into the house after 18 years and saw the rooms for the first time, it was magic", the couple says.
