May 15th 2019

Here, you’ll find fantastic wedding articles with inspiration for food, invitations and the wedding party. You can also find beautiful flowers, inspiration for your interior design, DIY projects and not least lots of marvelous homes.

DEAR READER In this edition of the magazine, we’d like to celebrate diversity in interior design. Always trying to find as many different homes to show you as possible, we want to cater for every taste and inspire as many people as possible, but we also want to display the broadness of the style and show you how to mix and match all the things that you love and still have a wonderful home. You’ll not find any pure style and minimalistic homes in our magazine but we hope that we can inspire you anyway, no matter how your home is furnished. Let yourself be inspired by seeing homes where people have a passion for interior design. Not because it ’s supposed to be ”perfect ” because what is perfect? But because such people are enthusiastic about creating a place where they ’d like to be. Where they can live and feel at ease. Often, these homes are ever-changing because the people live there. Because they can’t stop creating a mess, moving things around, exchanging things, being creative, regretting something and starting all over again. I know that I’ve written it many times before but it is a lifestyle. I’m sure that you know what I mean when I write that sometimes, you just can’t help it. Ideas turn up suddenly, out of the blue, and sometimes not at the most convenient of times such as late at night or early in the morning when you’re on your way somewhere. But actually, it ’s really funny when it happens. We receive so much feedback from you readers about how we contribute to your ideas and this is the biggest joy for us. Thank you! May this edition bring you even more inspiration. Enjoy!

All the best, Vivian

Jantien and Remko bought this fantastic mansion back in 1999 but this beautiful building dates all the way back to the beginning of the 1900s. The couple was so in love with the house that they made an offer to buy it without having seen the inside of it, and entering the house was a real shock. There was so much to do: several areas of the house were rotten, some ceilings had holes in them, all the doors had been painted with car paint and there was no kitchen left‌Jantien and Remko were facing a huge amount of work but they were happy.

Luckily, Jantien and Remko found the original entrance door in the loft! After that, they did the renovation of the bathroom, the kitchen and the living room. They dug out on the lowest floor to make space for the store and create taller walls. Afterwards, the couple renovated the bedrooms, the toilet, the stairway, the attic, the garden and the workshop. They did a lot of the work themselves, including sanding down and varnishing the beautiful old parquet flooring in the living room. The ceiling was actually ocher-colored and featured a flower painting on linen but unfortunately, it was in such a bad state that the couple had to surrender and paint it after five years. The old conservatory dates back to the 1930s and it was in such a sad state that it had to be replaced. The fantastic, arched windows are from a military hospital in Amersfoort and they add a fairy-tale feel to the room. 7

A marvelous mixture has found its way into this majestic house which is furnished with lots of authentic and rustic furniture as an interesting contrast to such an elegant house. At the same time, you also find fine golden mirrors that ’ve been carefully restored by the couple, using old techniques. Much of the furniture spends a bit of time in the private home before it ’s sold on to the customers. In the kitchen, Jantien uses an old desk as a work table before it ’s going to be sold. The cupboard in this room is for sale but it can’t be moved to the store because it ’s too tall so Jantien and Remko are using it as a cupboard for their collections.
