DEAR READER To most of us, summer means going on holiday, spending time together, relaxing and having a good time. Now is the perfect time to recharge your batteries. Personally, I gain extra energy from spending my holiday in a beautiful place. This might be in my home but I do prefer to go somewhere new. I like peaceful places, beautiful nature and places where I can spend the night in lovely surroundings. That means a lot to me. I also love small bed and breakfasts where I am greeted by the hosts and get to know their everyday life. Perhaps they give me some good advice on markets, stores, eateries and trips in the local area. This is a completely different way of going on holiday. In this edition, we’re offering you lots of ideas for this type of travelling. We’ve found a handful of very cozy accommodation that might inspire you to go on a short trip or perhaps copy some of the interior design ideas in your own home. Of course, we’ll also visit lots of inspiring homes and offer you ideas on delicious summer food and small-scale DIY projects. Enjoy reading – and have a wonderful holiday!

All the best, Vivian

Amy's

ORIGINAL FRENCH The family that we’re visiting here in Shropshire, England, loves everything French. The big passion of finding unique, French treasures is shared by mother and daughter, and they use their finds at home or sell them. Amy ’s mum found this place back in 2006 after just a few weeks of house hunting, and she immediately fell for both the house and the surroundings. All that was needed was a bit of paint and removal of the carpets and the linoleum. All the original elements have been

preserved in this house, adding a very special atmosphere.
