Some minerals think it’s their job to upset your stomach. Albion® minerals are chelated for gentle digestion and greater absorption. In their natural state, minerals are inorganic and difficult for the body to handle. Albion combines inorganic minerals with organic, natural amino acids your body recognizes to make chelates (pronounced key-lates). The organic chelates are easier for the body to digest and absorb. Clinical studies have shown that Albion organic chelates are more effective and absorbed up to 6 times more than *These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. From a series on Cellfood clinical research: Why Cellfood Works
Cellfood: Athletic Performance Study The Sports Institute of the University of Pretoria, Pretoria, South Africa
Forty-five athletes were the subjects of a placebo controlled double blind study. The results of this research included the following: 11% reduction in pulse rate, 10% increase in red blood count, 11% increase in diseasefighting white blood cells, 15% increase in blood platelets and 18% increase in hemoglobin. Visit our website to see this study in its entirety— and to see other clinical and lab studies regarding Cellfood: www.luminahealth.com.

Cellfood’s unique technology splits water molecules— and then safely bonds nascent oxygen with free radicals to form stabilized oxygen throughout the body. You can feel the resulting oxygen boost throughout the day. By adding just 24 drops of Cellfood to your bottle of water each day, you’ll be cleaning and detoxifying your body, eliminating free radicals, and bringing oxygen, hydrogen and 129 pure plant-based essential nutrients into every cell of your body. And Cellfood has a 100% satisfaction guarantee— with NO time limit.

As a healthcare practitioner, you know glutathione is one of the most important molecules in the body because it protects cells from the damaging effects of toxins and oxidative stress. Setria® Glutathione is anabsorbable tripeptide manufactured through a patented fermentation process that can help replenish the body’s reserves that may be depleted through poor diet, pharmaceutical drugs and even the natural aging process.* Setria is also pure, vegetarian and allergen-free. For your patients who could use nutritional support to help lighten their internal toxic load, recommend supplements formulated with Setria.*

elcome to our July/August issue of Alternative Medicine. This issue marks the beginning of our third year of publishing this magazine. The past two years have flown by. Although our path has changed along the way, our mission remains clear: we continue to focus on providing diet, health, and lifestyle articles. Our reader base continues to grow and our newsstand distribution is expanding. Thank you for your continued support. The results of our “Wellness Junkie survey this month were interesting. Nearly half of our readers take one or more prescription medications. High blood pressure prescriptions lead the list, which is somewhat predictable—but prescriptions for thyroid conditions are a close second, which is surprising. Other conditions on top of the list include diabetes and anxiety, and birth control is also another commonly used prescription. I thought pain medications would have made the list, but they did not. We share the results from the “Wellness Junkie to give insight to readers, and we use the results to plan future editorials. If there are questions that you want addressed in our “Wellness Junkie feature, feel free to let us know. Have you ever tried to describe something that you can’t see? That was the problem that our editorial team faced when writing the article about glutathione. The title of the article was supposed to be “What is Glutathione?, but one of our editors quickly found out
that this important antioxidant can best be described by what it does, not by what it is. Keeping yourself healthy depends on keeping glutathione levels high, so take a few minutes to read this article. Another very interesting article in this issue is “Protecting Your Brain, by Isaac Eliaz MD, MS, LAc. Alzheimer’s is such a tragic disease. As our population ages, we expect to see a significant increase in people affected either directly or indirectly by Alzheimer’s. The unfortunate problem with Alzheimer’s is that there are few tests to detect it and no cure on the horizon. Dr. Eliaz does a great job of identifying risk factors and identifying changes you can make to reduce your risk of contracting this debilitating disease. On a lighter note, hopefully summer has arrived to your part of the world. This is the time to enjoy the sunshine (don’t forget the sunscreen), feast on fresh produce from your backyard garden or local farmers’ market, and take time off from work to relax. Even long weekends are great for reducing stress and recharging your mind and body. Whether your passion is going to the beach, playing a round of golf, or lying in a backyard hammock, enjoy the fresh air and warm summer weather. Thank you once again for your continued support. Have a safe and healthy summer!
