B EAUTY In this autumn issue of the magazine we focus on the beauty found in nature at this very moment. We have taken some fantastic autumn photographs, which we will share with you. Actually some of you readers have asked us to offer some inspiration for your autumn gardens. At first it seems like a difficult task, as it is rather gloomy out there at this time of year. But sometimes it is also a question of being aware of seeing the beauty in that, which on the surface looks drab and dreary. After we first started focusing on seeing the garden in a different light, we could suddenly see the beauty in the seed heads, dead leaves and wrinkled berries of the garden. This has resulted in some nice articles, if we must say so ourselves. We hope that it gives you lots of autumn inspiration. What is also good about this time of year is that we now have the desire and energy to direct our attention inside our homes again. Make some changes here and there. Replace a couple of pillows and buy a new blanket. Or create some new arrangements. The warm, brown autumn colours have always been some of my favourites in decorating. They help create a cosy feeling, especially now, when we are entering the dark time. Happy reading! Lonnie and Vivian

utumn is upon us and we will be meeting the darkness. Cold, rain and rough weather are a reality. We spend time indoors and make ourselves at home with candles, warm drinks and cosy blankets.

Dig down into nature’s treasure chest and use the beautiful autumn berries, flowers and leaves in lovely decorations. Remember to enjoy them in their own element while taking a walk in the forest or garden.
But not everything about autumn is grey and gloomy. The garden is on fire with beautiful golden colours spanning from yellow to dark red nuances. The chestnuts glimmer brightly in the grass. Berries and apples stubbornly hold onto the almost naked branches.
Berries are apples are perfect for using in autumn wreaths. If you hang the wreath up outside, it will keep nice for a long time. It can also stand a few degrees frost without dying. The greatest threat is the birds in the garden, but helping the birds survive certainly has its charm in the most beautiful way.
The final roses become crystal clear from the first signs of frost, but most faithfully remain on the branches for a long time yet. Not many countries can boast about having such different seasons as we do here in Scandinavia. It is important to cherish each and every one of them for their peculiar characteristics.
At your front door or on your terraces in the garden you can quickly enhance things with additional beautifications. Collect beautiful apples and berries and use them decoratively in dishes, wooden and metal crates or like here in the bottom of a bird cage. That is all you need!

Chestnut Wreath Apple Wreath :
Chestnuts Straw Wreath Moss from the Forest Hobby Wire Annealed Wire
Tie moss around the entire wreath using hobby wire. Stick a piece of annealed wire into each chestnut. It should be about 5 cm long. Use the end as a stalk to push the chestnut into place on the wreath. The chestnuts must be arranged close together. However, make sure that it does not become too symmetrical. It looks nice when the chestnuts are placed with some space in between and the moss is allowed to peek out.

Straw Wreath Toothpicks or Split Bamboo Small Red Apples Moss from the Forest Hobby Wire
Tie moss around the straw wreath using the hobby wire. The most important thing is that the wreath is covered. Stick a toothpick into each apple and use the other end to stick into the straw wreath. Here it is important that the apples do not touch one another and that the moss can be seen.

Heart with Roses Floral Oasis Heart Moss from the Forest Roses Hypericum Quince Chestnuts Clematis Vines Buttercups Small Apples Wax Plant Lovely Autumn Leaves Toothpicks, Annealed Wire (thin and strong) and Floral Wire

Let the floral oasis heart absorb plenty of water. Cover the outer edge and parts of the surface with moss. Fasten it using small pins made from thin annealed wire. Stick a strong piece of annealed wire into each chestnut. It must be about 5 cm long. use the end as a stem to push the chestnut into the heart. Fasten the apples and quince in the same way but using toothpicks instead. Stick the various flowers, leaves, berries, quince, apples and chestnuts into the heart. Finish off with the clematis vines. Fasten the vines to the oasis heart using floral wire. The heart can last quite a long time as long as birds leave the tempting berries and apples alone. Remember to water it from time to time. If there is a sign of frost, take the heart inside, since the flowers cannot stand frost.

Bouquet with Buttercups
Rustic Pots with Wreaths and Roses
Fencing Wire Floral Oasis Moss from the Forest Roses Various Berries Green Floral Tape and Floral Wire
Orange Buttercups Wax Plant Branches with Red Berries Small Red Apples
Arrange the bouquet in a spiral. Mix the buttercups well with the wax plant and branches with red berries. Also use the small sprouts on the sides of the flowers, since they often open and thus extend the life of the bouquet. The small apples look adorable in the water and actually last a long time. Just remember to change the water daily.

Shape the fencing wire into wreaths, which are 1 cm smaller than the diameter of the pot. Cover the wreaths with floral tape, which prevents the berries from slipping. Tie the berries tightly using floral wire. Fill the pots with floral oases and cover them with moss. Cut the roses down so that they have a 5-6 cm stem left and place them in the middle of the pots. Place the wreath on top. It is nice if you make a number of pots. They do not need to be identical.
