SourceEcreative - News PRETTYBIRD has announced the signing of multidisciplinary director Jake Banks. With his background in painting and mixed-media filmmaking, Banks will bring a unique vision to PRETTYBIRD's diverse roster of filmmakers and award-winning productions. Banks is recognized as a pioneer in motion graphics-having helped launch Fuel Creative, Razorfish and Brand New School-and in 2003, he founded the creative studio Stardust. In addition to acting as creative director and designer, Banks began shooting the live-action portions of its productions and quickly made a name for himself creating films for the likes of Apple, Google, AT&T, Coke, EA Sports and IBM. After 10 successful years at Stardust, Banks sold the company to focus on the role he was most passionate about-directing. PRETTYBIRD immediately connected with Banks' strong aesthetic and his unique ability to create, design and execute ideas in both the live-action and digital mediums. Under the PRETTYBIRD banner, he will develop and produce a range of projects and integrated multi-platform campaigns that build upon his reputation as a visual innovator and his love of design, storytelling and emerging technologies. Banks continues to explore new perspectives and media platforms to share his stories. He recently debuted the mobile app, Hater, at the 2013 SXSW Tech Festival, which earned a spot on Mashable's coveted list of seven "can't miss apps." As a creator whose talents truly run the filmmaking gamut, Banks will be a strong fit within PRETTYBIRD's creative community.
