New sails at Whissendine Nigel Moon’s Whissendine mill has a new lease of life after the replacement of its four sails, enabling it to use wind power for the first time since 1922 Congratulations to Nigel Moon (right), who has reached a milestone in his ongoing restoration of Whissendine Windmill with the installation of four new sails, enabling the windmill to turn its stones using the power of wind for the first time since 1922. The windmill dates back to 1809 but has been out of action since 1922, when a terrible storm caused damage to the windmill’s sails. Nigel purchased the building in 1995 and has embarked on a repair project ever since. The windmill has been operational for a number of years, albeit using an electric motor to produce flour. Since 2020 Nigel and his team have been working hard to replace three of the four sails and repair the fourth one, with all four sails now faithful in design to the originals. The miller enjoyed particular success during the pandemic when an upturn in baking and making bread saw many people seeking out locally milled flour.

The presence of Aaron Patterson at Hambleton Hall since 1992 has long been a guarantee of a wonderful dining experience. Last month though, the chef’s former mentor at Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons in Oxfordshire visited Hambleton Hall as the special guest chef. Raymond enjoyed meeting fellow diners and joined Aaron in creating a menu which comprised his beetroot terrine and horseradish sorbet starter, plus a dessert of exotic fruit ravioli with coconut and lime leaf jus. Hambleton Hall was created in 1979 by Tim and Stefa Hart, with Aaron initially working in the kitchen under Nicholas Gill. After working at Le Manoir, Aaron returned to Hambleton Hall in 1992 and has helped to enure the hotel has retained its Michelin Star ever since.

Stamford’s cadets one of just three organisations to receive new King’s Award recognising charity work

This month sees Rutland MP Alicia Kearns opening public voting for her Independent Shop Awards

Chair of South Kesteven Gloria Johnson has paid tribute to Stamford’s air cadet squadron on receiving one of the very first King’s Awards for Voluntary Service. Having provided a testimonial to the achievements of 2071 Stamford Squadron Royal Air Force Air Cadets while she was Mayor of Stamford last year, Gloria’s recommendation for an award was held up because of the death of Her Majesty the Queen Elizabeth II. The Stamford squadron was one of just three organisations in Lincolnshire to receive the new King’s Award recognising charitable endeavours.

Alicia Kearns has launched her annual competition to find Rutland and Melton’s Favourite Independent Shop for 2023 and 2024. The MP is asking for residents to nominate their favourite shops so they can be shortlisted for the competition and public vote. Last year’s competition saw 19,169 votes cast in total, and Gates Garden Centre was voted as the overall winner (pictured above). The competition has 15 different categories as detailed below and nominations can be made via Alicia’s website at aliciakearns.com. Closing date for votes is Friday 26th January.

New book from local author Uppingham author creates a guide for those hoping to stay subtle using the ‘stick and chair’ method A former lawyer turned movement specialist has released his second book, Back for the Future, which aims to ensure its readers remain mobile. “My new book, Back for the Future, is all about a technique that I have developed using a stick as a prop to teach clients how to initiate and express balance through their core.”

“My students love it and I have used the technique to help clients including those coping with strokes, hip or knee replacement surgery to really improve the way that they move so that they can remain independent.” Back for the Future, is available now from Walkers Bookshop, which has premises in both Stamford and Oakham.

The County’s Lord-Lieutenant, Dr Sarah Furness recently invited the community to join her and fellow organisers at the second Rutland Festival of Remembrance, which took place at St George’s Barracks at North Luffenham. A drinks and canapé reception preceded a programme of remembrance including performances by the Cottesmore Military Wives choir, Uppingham School Chamber Choir & Pipe Band, the cadet band and Catmose & Casterton College, plus the brand new Rutland Ladies Choir. Over 300 guests enjoyed the concert and the Lord-Lieutenant in expressing her keenness to support The Royal British Legion thanked those who helped to make the event a success. “Counting serving soldiers and members of the military living in Rutland but serving elsewhere, over a quarter of Rutland’s population is military related. Remembrance means a great deal here – sacrifices are still being made by serving personnel.”

Julia Bradbury Rutland’s Julia Bradbury has always enjoyed a special relationship with the great outdoors, but since a breast cancer diagnosis in 2021, she also credits it with helping her to fight the disease. Now with her brand new book, Walk Yourself Happy, she wants us all to enjoy a healthier and more active life, beginning in January 2024!

H

urried, harried, hyperconnected and heartsore. Sometimes even helpless. January can feel like a fairly flat month in terms of our mood and so this month, more than ever, it’s important to take care of ourselves and nurture a strength of spirit that ensures we embrace the new year in a physically, but also mentally, sound condition. As far back as the fourth century the theologian and philosopher St Augustine was advocating spending time outdoors walking declaring ‘solvitur ambulando,’ literally ‘it is solved by walking.’ His words have been echoed by countless others from fitness advocates, to naturalists such as Darwin and other contemporary philosophers like Nietsche. More recently they’ve also been echoed by Rutland’s own Julia Bradbury, who grew up here and retains family connections to England’s smallest county, having fond memories of walking around the local countryside as a youngster with her father Michael. Julia’s family life – she’s a mum to three children – and her career in broadcasting have always seen her remaining busy, but in 2021 her established priorities were brought to a screaming halt with a diagnosis of breast cancer which saw her re-evaluate her life, with physical health and mental wellness taking priority. “I wanted to explore how seemingly small additions and new habits can have a profound on your physical health and your wellbeing,” says Julia. “I’m not an academic or a doctor – aside from an honorary

doctorate – and I’m definitely not a scientist, but I do talk to such people in my new book all about the journey.” “What I do have are lived experiences, especially of walking being curative. I’ve used walking to help me through breast cancer, but other traumas too, from IVF and miscarriage to grief, mental health issues and even a broken heart.” “Walking in Rutland with my family is a joy, but I’ve also been lucky during a career in broadcasting to have experienced trekking along the seaboard of the Indonesian Archipelago, through the rainforests of Australia and across the Mongolian deserts, as well as walking across a lot of the Greek island digging into my Mama Mou Chrissi’s family history.” “All of those landscapes were wildly different, but what they had in common was their ability to be a backdrop for walking experiences which heal the body, calm the mind and lift the heart.” “You don’t need big landscapes or seat-of-the-pants travel adventures to benefit from such ‘green therapy’ though (I call it getting a dose of Vitamin N, for nature). Even walking in England’s smallest county can help you to walk yourself happy and healthy, hence the book’s title.” Having re-evaluated everything from her diet to her breathing, Julia’s combination of an interest in health, research and the fact that walking gives her pleasure to live better have all culminated in her latest book, Walk Yourself Happy.

From the title you might be mistaken that it’s simply a book of walking routes or one which just advocates exercise, but the book goes much further in its remit, encouraging consideration of diet, sleep, exercise and even breathing.

The broadcasting landscape changed in the mid-1990s with the launch of new cable and satellite channels courtesy of enfants terrible of broadcasting from Kelvin MacKenzie who would go onto edit The Sun and Janet Street Porter, who helped to launch L!ve TV. Julia worked for Janet on the station as a presenter alongside Claudia Winkleman before joining GMTV as its celebrity correspondent based in Los Angeles. From there, she presented the BBC consumer rights programme Watchdog and later other factual programming from Countryfile to many walking series from Railway Walks to Canal Walks, and ultimately Unforgettable Walks, plus a reboot of Wainright Walks, following in the footsteps of Alfred Wainright, retracing his favourite routes in the fells.

Julia and walking “The thing about walking is that you don’t need incredible landscapes, fancy kit, a team leader or physical fitness and talent. To get started you just lace up your shoes and put one foot in front of the other.” “I was recently involved with the mental health charity Mind, challenged to encourage a group to pull on their wet weather gear and enjoy getting out in the darker winter months. Some people think that it’s better to walk in spring and summer. Not me. I love a winter walk on a crisp chilly day, and I enjoy the freshness of the air when it’s a bit soggy.” “To be outside is to feel and experience life in the round. Being outside also means being around nature. When I’m sharing space with a tree breathing in cold, cloudy air or staring at the fractal patterns of a pine cone I feel happy and in awe of the magic of nature, I feel content with my place in the world.” “I’ve always exercised but recovering from cancer has taught me that to keep our body systems working well, I need to commit to an hour of exercise at least four times a week.” “That might sound daunting, but one in six deaths in the UK is caused by inactivity… physical activity won’t kill you, but inactivity can. That’s not to say that you have to exercise for a prescribed amount of time.”

“Even getting outside for a shuffle around the garden is beneficial, and if all you can manage is ten minutes a few times a week then I encourage you to do just that.” “If you’re physically more active, your heart is conditioned to beat slower and stronger, and it needs less oxygen to function well. Your arteries become springier, so they push your blood along more efficiently, and your levels of ‘good’ HIDL cholesterol rise.” “Physical activity also helps prevent type two diabetes; when your muscles are used to working, they stay more receptive to insulin, the hormone that ushers blood sugar into the cells. If you’re fit, blood sugar levels aren’t as likely to creep up.” “In older age, physical activity can delay the slide of cognitive decline into dementia and, even after the process has started, exercise, alongside exposure to light at the right time of day, can improve certain aspects of thinking.” “Moving the body helps the brain, too. Several studies have found that exercise can reduce symptoms of depression, changing the brain in ways similar to antidepressant medication, which brings us to the subject of mindfulness and specifically breathing.”

Julia and breathing “It’s no coincidence that much tuition of meditation, yoga or other mindfulness-related activities place a strong emphasis on breathing. You’d be forgiven for thinking that you already know how to breathe. You’re doing it now, and it’s just opening your mouth and sucking in air, right?” “Apparently not. We breathe unconsciously but often make three common mistakes. We breathe into the chest and upper body. We breathe through the mouth and we breathe too much.”

“Learning how to breathe is life-changing and can have a profound effect on our sense of well-being. On average we breathe in and out 25,000 times a day, but we don’t necessarily take nutritional breaths. Breathing ‘well’ means doing so through your nose, which triggers the sinuses to release nitric oxide, a molecule which plays an essential role in absorbing oxygen. We can absorb 18% more oxygen breathing nasally than we do by breathing orally.” “In the book I cover breathing exercises, explore the fascinating differences in breathing in different cultures, and cover different breathing techniques like Ujjayi (victorious breath), Bhastrika (bellows breath) and chanting. Like proper sleep, and good nutrition, breathing is one of the pillars of a healthy life and it’s free at the point of use, so it’s remarkable that few of us know how to get the best out of it.”

Julia and diet “Until a couple of years ago, I didn’t give much thought to what I ate, nor how I ate it. I’ve always been conscious of food quality but I didn’t plan my meals or calculate how much protein I was eating or count my veggies.” “Especially when working outdoor or on travel shows for TV, my diet was a bacon sandwich – breakfast on the go – milk chocolate and millionaire’s shortbread. Sometimes we’d be on location for 18 days straight, and that’s what I’d eat for 18 days straight. Then in the evening at the end of filming the whole crew would descend on some lovely country pub and tuck into homemade pie, chunky chips or a big old steak followed by chocolate brownies or ice cream.” “When I look at that list now I shudder. Fried foods carry heart risks, in part because they provoke inflammation and they’re often high in sodium as well as harmful saturated fats. The oil in which foods are fried commercially is often heated again and again. This can generate a variety of compounds, many of which have been reported as carcinogenic.” “Those sausages and pies are often made with processed meat, and all red meat contains a pigment called haems, which is broken down in the gut to form compounds (called N-nitroso compounds or NOCs), which are also known to cause cancer.”

“Then there’s all the sugar. Sugar comes in many forms, and is hidden in foods that you wouldn’t expect. It’s not just in sweets, cakes and biscuits, but things like sauces, soups, fruit juices and meat products.” “The average American now consumes approximately 126g of sugar a day. That is about ten tablespoons, and we’re not far behind. There’s a huge body of evidence about the damage too much sugar does to cardio-metabolic health and I certainly ate more than the recommended daily allowance of 24-30g sugar daily.” “I stopped and switched to dark chocolate – over 70% cocoa solids – which was just one part of a huge overhaul of my diet that I undertook after my cancer diagnosis and mastectomy; quitting sugar saw me losing a lot of weight, very quickly.” “That’s not to say that chips are off the menu completely, but I do advocate the 80/20 rule whereby for 80% of the time I eat healthy, whole foods and for the other 20% of the time, I treat myself or at least accept that I’m doing the best in a world of processed foods and with a busy lifestyle.” “We also can’t consider nutrition without talking about hydration. Estimates vary from six to eight glasses of day being recommended, and it is also possible to overhydrate, but usually we drink too little, which can reduce our cognitive performance, including memory, focus and creative thinking. Without proper hydration, your blood becomes viscous and harder to pump, and without proper hydration, none of the cells in your body can function.” “There’s an emerging awareness, too, of the danger of too many ultraprocessed foods in our diet. These are replete with nasty chemicals that our microbes react badly to; processed foods deprive them of fibre and instead bombard them with artificial substances like sweeteners and emulsifiers designed to enhance texture and extend the shelf life of foods.” “In the book I speak to Professor Tim Spector OBE of King’s College. Whilst he’s no killjoy, he’s acutely aware that 57% of an adult’s diet and 70% of a child’s diet in Britain today is now made up of processed food. Globally, poor nutrition still accounts for 11 million deaths every year and adds more to the burden of ill health than drugs, alcohol and tobacco combined.” >>

Hypnos, the god of sleep was seen as the remover of pain, suffering and sorrow and the Greeks were confident that what sleep does for the body, dream do for the mind, enabling it to rest and rejuvenate.” The consumption of vegetables, legumes, fish, nuts, seeds and fruits is way below the level recommended by the World Health Organisation, and we are eating too much fat, processed meat, salt and sugar. But given the amount of processed food on our supermarket shelves, this isn’t entirely our fault.” “Tim also says that we have to stop judging food by calories. ‘They’re nonsense,’ he says. ‘As a way of teaching people how to eat more healthily, they should be scrapped.’ It’s not about calories. It’s not about fats and carbs and protein, either. It’s about food quality. Each time you eat, if you’re mindful of nourishing your gut microbes, supporting a healthy gut microbiome and eat a diet rich in fibre to keep your bacteria in balance, you can’t go far wrong.”

to humans,’ which is quite a terrifying prospect given the lack of consideration we give to the quality of our sleep.”

Julia and the future “Cancer saved my life, which may seem like a strange thing to say, but it opened my eyes to what I was doing to myself, pushing myself emotionally and physically to reach impossible goals. Re-examining my relationship with nutrition, sleep, exercise and breathwork was, I now realise, so important.” “After my documentary Julia Bradbury: Breast Cancer & Me aired, many people have approached me when they’ve seen me out and about or they’ve messaged me to ask if I was OK. They’ve all offered well-meaning thoughts with one of the most common being ‘thank you for sharing your story, very brave,’ but honestly, I’m not brave.” “I think cancer saved my life. I got it and I had to make changes. The book explains how I did it, and I hope it might help others too. Fundamentally, I wrote it because I believe we can all walk ourselves happy, taking small steps and then big strides, through the glad days of our lives.”

Raymond Blanc in Rutland

When Raymond Blanc comes to dinner, not a single person in the dining room avoids that feeling of being starstruck. For the French chef and founder of Le Manoir aux Quat’ Saisons though, a recent visit to Rutland was a chance to enjoy cooking once again with one of his most successful protégés, Aaron Patterson. Back in 1979, Tim & Stefa Hart purchased Hambleton Hall and chose Nicholas Gill to head up the kitchen. One of his most successful chefs was Aaron Patterson and the two enjoyed a great working relationship until the chance arose to work in the kitchen of Le Manoir under Raymond. Happily for everyone in Rutland, Aaron made a return to Hambleton Hall in 1992 as the country house hotel’s head chef, and has remained there ever since, latterly taking on the role of Chef Director.

Last month, Aaron Patterson and Raymond Blanc jointly hosted a dinner in Rutland The two have kept in touch and prior to the pandemic, Raymond had promised to visit the hotel and meet the team, possibly around July 2020, coinciding with the 40th anniversary of the hotel’s opening. Plans were a little delayed, but the best things come to those who wait and so, last month, Aaron and Raymond hosted a dinner for around 60 specially invited guests, each cooking a couple of courses. For members of the media, too, it was a chance meet the chef and enjoy a few words with him.

Can he remember, I asked, when Raymond first met Aaron? “Of course! He had a very full head of hair!” says Raymond. “He was a really good man, and fitted straight in to my kitchen, which is no mean feat as there were some seriously tough guys in the kitchen.” “It was a time when chefs could be rather disfunctional people, volatile, creative... but Aaron was different.” “Still today there’s lots of ego, especially at Michelin-star level, but Aaron was a genius from the outset, and a really nice guy.” He stayed for four years at Manoir, and worked on every single section. It’s a tough school: 16 chefs working to produce up to 20 courses for up to 100 for lunch and 120 for dinner. The food then was so much more complex, too.”

Aaron was a genius and a really nice guy. He stayed for four years at Le Manoir Aaron’s talent and his character is reflected in the fact that the two chefs have kept in touch and when Raymond visited Hambleton Hall last month he worked alongside the brigade to create a beetroot terrine starter and an exotic fruit ravioli with coconut and lime leaf jus. However masterful the food though, the evening was even more special thanks to the obvious respect and friendship that both Aaron & Raymond still have, 30 years on! See www.hambletonhall.com.

The Crown Hotel This month we’re enjoying a new menu and a new dining room too, at one of Stamford’s most popular and wellrespected, places to dine... Words & Images: Rob Davis.

The Crown in Stamford has a new jewel in the form of a recently refurbished dining room; a great new environment in which to enjoy Executive Chef Nick Buttress’s new menu for January 2024. Most Stamfordians will already know that The Crown Hotel is part of the Knead Pubs group which also comprises The Tobie Norris – which was added to the portfolio in 2007 – and Paten & Co, historically known as The Periwig and The Marsh Harrier, which underwent a masterful refurbishment in 2017. The Crown Hotel, however, is the most venerable hotel in Knead’s portfolio, owned by the company since 1999. Heading up the group are Michael and Sophia Thurlby, and if evidence was ever needed about the couple’s involvement in the day-to-day running of the hotel, it’s to be found in the fact that on the day of our shoot, both were up and down stepladders trimming up their new dining room, The Jewel, ready for the festive season, as we photographed dishes from Nick’s new menus.

“Much of our meat comes from Knead’s own farm, which allow us to vouch for its quality and welfare” “We refresh our menus seasonally, in order to make the most of the area’s best ingredients,” says Nick. “And much of our meat comes from Knead’s own farm, based at Tallington. We’ve a flock of 360 lambs and 85 Lincoln Red Cattle, so every burger or steak that we serve uses meat which has been reared ourselves, which means we can vouch for its welfare and its provenance. It also encourages us to make sure we use as much of each animal as possible and use each cut to its fullest potential.”

There’s a single menu for evening service available throughout The Crown with an additional lunchtime menu of baguettes, rolls and grazing platters, plus cakes, scones and pastries for the hotel’s brisk midmorning coffee trade. The latter has been popular for lonely home workers who bring their laptops along to work in the hotel whilst enjoying good coffee and human interaction. The evening menu offers a decent choice with 11 nibbles, small plates or starters to mix and match, as well as 16 main course options when you add up the ‘quality pub-inspired’ Classics, two special Knead Farm options, a couple of From the Sea dishes plus a grill selection and four well-considered options for vegetarians and vegans.

The bar still enjoys its botanical look with early 20th century industrial influences that make the most of the hotel’s architecture. Meanwhile The Jewel dining room in The Crown was completed just in time for 2023’s Burghley Horse Trials and not withstanding its additional and very lovely festive touches courtesy of Michael and Sophia as we were photographing, the place is lovely looking with a new parquet floor, teal walls and Clarke & Clarke fabrics with their whimsical botanical and jungle-inspired design.

It’s a lovely place to be and as well as creating a large and sociable dining space, it’s one of several comfortable rooms around the hotel available for functions and private dining. As a restaurant, it’s easy to see why you’d dine at The Crown. It uses only the best ingredients in its well-conceived dishes created with skill and nice presentation. Whilst we visited the hotel, we also took the opportunity to sneak a look at a few of the hotel’s bedrooms and to say they’re pretty is an understatement, with a comfortable rustic look and lots of character. You can enjoy them for a £165/person ‘Sunday Sleepover’ package which includes two-course dining, an overnight stay and breakfast the following morning... it could be the perfect way to enjoy what we reckon is one of Stamford’s most satisfying dining experiences!

Magical. That’s how the current owners of Horninghold House, in the village of the same name, describe their property, and it’s little surprise that they’re so keen on the property even 30 years on from their arrival in the village. “We moved to Oakham to have the first of our three children and discovered Horninghold in 1993,” say owners Bobbie and Gerry.

“There are only 25 properties or so in the village so it’s a really vibrant and friendly community, definitely the sort of place that we wanted to raise a family.”

Horninghold House’s five reception rooms are currently arranged as a drawing room with stone fireplace and French doors leading to a large orangery created by area’s Vale Garden Houses. “We currently use the cellar as a cinema room, a gym plus a utility area and party space,” says Bobbie. “But it is immensely flexible and could easily be converted into some accommodation for staff, children or parents.” “Likewise, when we designed the house we really only needed four bedrooms and decided to offer our house guests a rather large suite. has a wonderful collection of mature trees,” says Bobbie. “It was essential for us to maintain that qualitative approach to designing our grounds whilst retaining as many mature trees as possible. We have close to a hundred trees on site and between them, they offer beautiful vistas throughout the seasons.” “The village and the house itself has been a very important part of our lives for the past 30 years but it is now time for us to hand over guardianship to new owners.” “We are reaching a time of our lives when we would like to be closer to our children and grandchildren so now seems an appropriate time to consider handing over the custody of our beautiful home to another family to enjoy as we have done. We hope that a new custodian will get as much delight as we have enjoyed over the years!”

The silent hunters of the night, barn owls are enigmatic birds of prey that play a crucial role in maintaining the delicate balance of ecosystems. From their ghostly appearance to their silent nocturnal flights, barn owls are a testament to the wonders of nature.

Breeding season for barn owls in the UK typically begins in late March to April. They are monogamous birds and often mate for life. Nests are established in quiet, secluded locations, and both parents play an active role in raising their offspring.

The barn owl is instantly recognisable with its heart-shaped face and distinctive plumage. Sporting a mix of golden-brown and white feathers, these medium-sized owls are well-adapted for their nocturnal lifestyle.

The female typically lays a clutch of eggs, and the pair takes turns incubating them. After hatching, the parents work together to feed and protect their chicks until they fledge and become independent.

The facial disk helps funnel sound to their ears, enabling them to locate prey with remarkable precision even in complete darkness.

Several organisations in the UK are actively engaged in barn owl conservation efforts. The Barn Owl Trust, for example, works to conserve the species through habitat preservation, education, and research.

One of the most striking features of barn owls is their silent flight. Specialised feathers on their wings break up the turbulence of air, allowing them to fly virtually silently.

With a diet consisting mainly of small mammals, barn owls play a crucial role in controlling rodent populations. Our farmers’ use of set-aside land and the increase of conservation farming is helping greatly to restore the food chains in the countryside that barn owls need.

Established in 1985, it was originally intended as a maker of Formula 1 vehicles but decided that its experience and engineering know-how could also filter down into cars for motorists... albeit ones with rather more performance than you’ll ever need for a trip to Waitrose. After collaborations with Mercedes, the company released its own sports car division in 2011 and launched its first ‘domestic’ car that year too. The firm’s new 750S replaces the 720 and promises peak supercar performance with pure exhilaration. The vehicle is the lightest and most powerful series-production McLaren, with segment-leading power-toweight ratio of 587PS-per-tonne. Compared to its predecessor, over 30% of its components have been re-engineered or replaced, resulting in a car that’s just 1,277kg in weight, making the most of its awesome performance.

The car is available both as a coupé or a convertible, badged Spider, and its light weight construction, aided by a wealth of carbon fibre and a monocoque construction enables its 750ps of power to reach 60mph in just 2.8 second and a potential top speed of 206mph on a closed track. McLaren’s Proactive Chassis Control linkedhydraulic suspension, which is renowned for combining astonishingly precise body control with a remarkably compliant ride, is now even more impressive. Naturally drivers can fettle the aero, handling, powertrain and transmission settings, saving a tailored combination.

Drivers can also switch between Comfort, Sport and Track Active Dynamic settings while keeping their hands on the wheel and a complete focus on the road ahead. There’s also a McLaren Control Launcher (MCL) for avoiding wheel-spin when moving off, and a lift mechanism allows you to tiptoe over uneven surfaces and speed bumps without damaging the front splitter. Cold temperatures aggravate the condition whilst a lack of mobility, coupled with pain, can mean a miserable start to the year, especially for the 100,000 annual NHS patients for whom a surgical knee replacement this year is the ultimate treatment of the condition. Top Harley Street consultant orthopaedic surgeon, Professor Paul Lee, renowned for treating celebrities and elite athletes, has brought his expertise to Lincolnshire. Now, from his Grantham-based Keep Clinic and Silk Willoughby’s MSK House, he’s one of the first clinicians in the UK offering a pioneering treatment to those with osteoarthritis of the knee joint.
