Our bull sale continues to evolve as families evolve and embark on new chapters. We continue to remain a family run operation and our relentless commitment to quality will never waiver. We are optimistic about the cattle industry and know that, without a doubt, its where you can find some of the best people you will ever meet.
The Daines family has owned and operated the Innisfail Auction Market since 1955. The market handles thousands of feeders and breeding cattle and while working there, Grant sees a lot of them. It helps provide us with additional insight as to what is and isn’t working. We don’t believe in following fads, but rather watching trends and making decisions based on profitability and practicality.
While we enjoy promoting and marketing our genetics in the showring, at the end of the show season, those cattle are put in the main herd and can perform just as well as the rest of our cows, under ranch conditions. We are proud of this set of bulls and the genetics they stem from. Our cows are not pampered, we breed for easy-fleshing, low maintenance, good, honest cows that work. We expect our cows to be adaptable, efficient and functional. We take a great deal of pride in developing
cattle that are able to thrive in practical settings, in an effective and economical way.
The bulls were run on grass for the fall and then came in and have been on silage and straw in addition to their mixed ration and supplement. They are run on a 20 acre field and are pail fed. The bulls have been developed to be ready to go out and get to work for you. As always, we are mindful of temperament. We have a good selection of pedigrees, power bulls and calving ease bulls. Every bull that sells, sells with a passed semen test, no DD bulls will sell.
We would like to invite you to look at the bulls at the ranch, or come to the market and view the bulls from the Monday before the sale, leading right up to the sale. If you are unable to make the sale, please let us know in advance and we will work with you to find the right bull for your program. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to give one of us a call!
We would like to thank all of our past buyers and bidders for their support. We sincerely appreciate each and every one of you!
We look forward to seeing you at the sale on April 6th!

Here is a big-time opportunity to get in on some breed leading genetics! This bull’s full brother, WGD Ruger 8J, was our high seller in last year’s sale for $72,000 to the great folks at Springside Cattle Co. Ruger went on to be the Reserve Champion Bull at Agribition last fall. Two full sisters have sold for $18,000 and $22,500. There is a ton of excitement being generated by these genetics and for good reason; the reports of the calves out of Ruger 8J have been nothing short of exceptional and we are very high on the calves out of him in our own program. Precision brings exceptional length and soundness, with a very cool neck extension. What a way to get yourself into something special and get in on these exciting genetics!

Signal Hill is named after Kyle and Wyatt’s favourite whiskey and just like that whiskey he is balanced, full-bodied and stout, yet smooth. We showed Signal alongside his mother last fall. They were Champion Senior Female at both shows they went to. His mother is an attractive, feminine, big bodied cow, that has a really nice udder and lots of milk. The right to a flush on Smooch 3F sold in the prestigious New Year’s Resolution Sale, for $10,000 to Lakeview Charolais. She’s a beautiful cow and we are very excited about her future in the donor pen! A maternal half brother sold in last year’s sale and we also used him as an AI sire. Signal’s sire is a previous bull sale high seller to Circle Cee Charolais. Whiskey Bent comes from our highly coveted Miss Trim cow family that has done so much for us. The Miss Trim progeny are really easy fleshing cattle. Signal is really good footed, big boned, sound and good haired. He’s also such a gentle guy! Take into account the way Signal Hill is made, his proven pedigree and his very easy-going demeanor and you can’t go wrong with him!

When the opportunity came from Harvie Ranching to get in on Tried & True semen we couldn’t resist. One look at him and we were eager to utilize him in our program. When you look at this bull you can see a lot of the same traits as his sire. This bull tracks extremely well and has a presence that you can’t help but notice. He does this while carrying lots of red meat. His mother is a cow we purchased from Thistle Ridge and she is always a favourite on tours due to her perfect udder and overall profile. Here are some cool genetics and a very complete bull that will get the job done.

This is one soggy and stout made bull. He’s packed full of meat and is really deep flanked. The Ransom sire did an awesome job for us. We calved out a full sister to this bull and we would gladly take a whole herd just like her - big bodied, beautiful udder, great footed, easy to handle and very maternal. 86K’s mother is one of our favourites. 14C is a tank of a cow – she’s always one the fleshiest cows no matter the time of year or feed situation. Her calves always make high quality replacement females or bulls for the sale. She’s also the biggest pet on the farm and the one the kids like to sit on. We are using a maternal half brother to 86K as our senior herd sire, you will see a few of the

His sire was a past high seller and his calves are a quality addition to our program.
Sound, long spined and easy doing are what comes to mind when evaluating this bull. His mother is a cow purchased from Thistle Ridge and is a standout. Feminine, with a perfect udder attachment and teat length, combined with lots of body, she is hard to miss. The 62C cow has produced lots of front pasture type calves for me. 91K goes back to JIL Thunder Roll 69Z, who has had a tremendous impact on our herd, siring quality bulls and females alike. 91K’s sire, Hot Toddy, is following in his sire’s tracks and is becoming a major part of our program. The dam of this bull is heading to our donor pen. She is a full sib to Lot 10. We have been considering it for awhile, but this guy clinched it. He has that added length, a top packed full of muscle, right from his fore rib out through his hip. One of the best quality’s of this bull is the fertility in the females in his pedigree, they cycle readily and almost always conceive with AI. This bull has that show ring look with a quality head. His sire, Hot Toddy, is a powerfully constructed, easy fleshing bull. The grandmother, 14C, is the dam of Lot 5. The 14C cow had a successful show career and is a top producer as well. Whether it be the showring, or the auction market ring, the Thunder cattle flat out work. We love the Thunder daughters working as cows in our herd and the Thunder bulls always make the sale. Our current walking herd-sire, Hot Toddy, is out of a Thunder daughter.
This is a nice, low birthweight bull, out of a heifer. Unless you have low birthweights for a few generations on both sides and without seeing a cross more than once, while also factoring in cow management, it is hard to say if a birthweight is truly predictable.
Maybe one of the smoothest and sleekest Charolais bulls in the sale. We probably wouldn’t put him on heifers, but he should be a dream on cows! The 211C cow has an absolutely beautiful udder.

Born the same day as Lot 11 and very similar in looks. Lots of muscle shape in his top. He’s purebred, but sells without papers.
This guy sure took advantage of his mother’s milk. He comes loaded with eye appeal, mass and muscle which will help his calves put money in your pocket. The Hot Toddy bull has done an excellent job for us.
This bull has tremendous bone, hair and a great look. He carries this with a wide base and a good foot. He’s mother has a perfect udder that will stand the test of time. The sire of this bull, JIL Thunder Roll 69Z, is a bull that just keeps proving his worth and he has done it here again. The Thunder calves are always a highlight around here and this guy is no exception.
This bull is very sound from the ground up with extra length of spine to put on those extra pounds. His disposition is great and he is ready to go to work. His mother is one of the oldest cows on the place and she is knocking it out of the park still to this day.

Totally Hip was the Reserve Champion Percentage Bull at Agribition. This bull is a truly elite, game changer type of bull that could launch your program to the next level. His dam was a bigger framed, really good looking tank, that we sadly lost due to an unfortunate injury. His sire has done a great job as an AI sire for us. We sold a Trail Blazer daughter in Friday Night Lights to Scissors Creek Cattle Co. Aside from having the coolest look about him, Totally Hip is structurally made so right and moves like a cat, off a great foot. He’s big boned, heavy muscled and has wicked cool hair – and then he pulls it all together with a rocket front end and that quality, herd bull head. You can see the eye-catching white face and quality of this bull, what you can’t see is how nice his dam is. Without a doubt, this bull has one of the truly great dams in our program. She is still here in production because of her quality traits, her fleshing ability, great feet, fertility and an udder that has stood the test of time. These traits, which lead to longevity of production, are certainly traits you want to have in your herd. Both the 7X cow and the Highmore bull have left us with many quality replacement females and bull sale bulls.
A long-made bull and one of the bigger framed bulls in the offering. This guy is a little less mature in his look. He will have the ability to lengthen the growth curve and add some increased stretch and grow in cattle that may be a little quick maturing. This guy will be a big and impressive mature bull. He has a really nice full sister in the herd.
If you like a big, black brockle faced bulls, be sure to find 44K on sale day. A really complete bull. The 9034G bull did a good job for us. We are really impressed with his daughters that are in production.
