PRINCETON ACADEMY of the Sacred Heart Kalkus House (Manor House)
The Board of Trustees would like to recognize all of the wonderful educators who have been a part of the Princeton Academy experience over the course of its 20 year history. Thank you for providing our boys with a joyful place to be creative, compassionate and courageous.
The Soaring 20s Welcome to The Soaring 20s Gala 2019, Princeton Academy! You are in for a spectacular night. Twenty years ago, a creative, compassionate and courageous group of leaders set forth to build a school with a mission to develop young men through the Sacred Heart Goals and Criteria. Twenty years later, Princeton Academy is leading a national reinvention of boys education for a new generation of enlightened men. Princeton Academy has been soaring since paper airplanes were launched on the first day of school in September of 1999. Guided today by the same mission that guided us then, the Princeton Academy family has grown over the years in a most dynamic way. Each day still begins with a Morning Handshake and each week still ends with a Friday Thank You. Today, our mission is a cause and our shared Epic Vision propels us to soar with heart into the future and develop our young men to be leaders of a just society in a world that needs them now more than ever. Recognizing that a Princeton Academy education is the greatest gift we can provide a boy, this year’s Fund-a-Need represents the heart of Princeton Academy: providing financial access to a PASH education for as many boys as possible. Thank you all for supporting this vital initiative. At this year’s Soaring 20s Gala, we are thrilled to welcome home founders, alumni and families, trustees, educators and friends from all throughout our school’s 20 years. Make no doubt about it, the Soaring 20s Gala is an opportunity to come together for the ages. Just as the Dignan Manor (now Kalkus House), in whose courtyard we gather, was built stone by stone in 1929, so can we take pause to honor every member of our community for contributing to the foundation of Princeton Academy. Infinite gratitude must be extended to this year’s Soaring 20s Gala Chairs and the Gala Committee. Please join me in thanking Jennifer Bednar P ’23, Sandy Scarlatella P ’19 and Diana Sullivan P ’20 for their visionary leadership of this monumental event. Thank you, Soaring 20s Gala Committee, for bringing our community together through your time, talent and treasure. The Princeton Academy Gala is our school’s largest fundraising event of the year. One hundred percent of the net proceeds raised tonight will directly benefit our boys. Thank you to our sponsors for your generous contribution to make our Soaring 20s Gala a smashing success. Now, let’s raise a glass and celebrate 20 years of bringing out the best in boys! Go Hawks!

Founding Mission Princeton Academy of the Sacred Heart, an independent Catholic lower and middle school for boys, is committed to academic excellence within the context of a faith-based community. Our mission is to develop young men with active and creative minds, a sense of understanding and compassion for others, and the courage to act on their beliefs. We stress the total development of each child: spiritual, moral, intellectual, social, emotional and physical. Our philosophy is rooted in the 200-year tradition of the Society of the Sacred Heart, which educates children to become leaders of a just society by adhering to the following five goals: a personal and active faith in God a deep respect for intellectual values a social awareness which impels to action the building of community as a Christian value personal growth in an atmosphere of wise freedom

Rules of the Auction Silent Auction: We are very excited that at this year’s Gala we are once again partnering with OneCause to use their fundraising technology to raise money for our school. This means our parents, staff and wider community will be able to bid on items, sign-up for Party Board events and pledge for the “fund-a-need” before the event. Live Auction: Please raise your hand to respond to the auctioneer’s bids. The auctioneer will announce minimum bids. Spotters will note acceptable bids during the auction. When an item is won, the auctioneer, and only the auctioneer, will immediately announce the successful bidder and the bid amount. Checkout: Final checkout will take place on the Monday following the Gala by pre-swiping your credit card upon check in. You can find out the items you won by checking the Silent Auction area after closing. You will receive your receipt in the mail listing all the items you have won. If you did not pre-register your credit card at check-in and need to pay for items you have won you will receive your invoice in the mail. All bids are binding and all sales are final. Full payment is expected. Taxes and Deductions: Auction winners are urged to consult with their tax advisors to determine deductibility of winning items. Please Also Note: No exchanges or refunds are permitted unless specified by the donor. All items are sold “as is.” The bidder is solely responsible for reading and understanding the specifications, expirations and limitations, if any, on items on which bids are made. Unless noted otherwise, all auction items and services must be used by May 11, 2020. Dates and times are to be arranged at the mutual convenience of donor and buyer. By the purchase, the buyer waives the right of any claim against Princeton Academy of the Sacred Heart or the donor of the item, and neither Princeton Academy nor the donor is responsible for personal injuries or damages to property that may result from the use of the property or service sold.
