rinceton Academy of the Sacred Heart is an independent school for boys in Kindergarten through Grade 8. Our mission is to develop young men with active and creative minds, a sense of understanding and compassion for others, and the courage to act on their beliefs. We educate and develop the whole boy in mind, body and spirit.

Five Goals of the Sacred Heart Goal I A personal and active faith in God Goal II A deep respect for intellectual values Goal III A social awareness which impels to action Goal IV The building of community as a Christian value Goal V Personal growth in an atmosphere of wise freedom

Letter from the Headmaster Dear Princeton Academy Community, We are soaring... The 2016-2017 school year was one of excitement and energy. Fueled by our Sacred Heart Goals and Criteria, our mission to develop creative, compassionate and courageous young men to be leaders of a just society is more relevant than ever. In the spirit of Goal IV, our One School community came together to forge Epic Vision: Soaring with Heart, a strategic vision that is the outcome of a collaborative and inclusive experience - an outlook for the future that contains the hopes and dreams of all members of our community. This shared vision that we have built together, to reinvent boys education for a new generation of enlightened men, is driven by initiatives that enrich the Princeton Academy experience for our young men. The heart of Princeton Academy beats stronger than ever and as an institution we are prepared to adapt to our ever-changing world. This year, our community came together to support the school through meaningful charitable giving. From the philanthropic efforts that enabled the renovation of Hawk Hall to the time, talent and treasure that heroic members of our community regularly give to Princeton Academy; I am in awe of the seemingly endless generosity of our community and eternally grateful for all that you do. Donations to all initiatives broke records and proved yet again how strong we are when we come together. I am pleased to announce that the 20162017 Fund for Princeton Academy raised a record amount of dollars in support of our boys and our mission. Dollars raised for The Fund went to support signature programming, exciting new initiatives for our students, professional development, financial aid and all of the remarkable elements that make our school so special. Thank you for providing us with all of the dynamic “extras that are integral to the success of our vibrant learning environment. This year we also elevated participation rates to record numbers for all constituencies. Parents, grandparents, alumni, friends and the Board of Trustees supported The Fund with donations of all sizes. I am especially grateful to our faculty and staff who believe in our school and in our boys so much that they supported The Fund with 100 percent participation for the second year in a row. A gift of any size contributes significantly to our participation numbers, and we appreciate everyone who goes above and beyond to support the Academy. In the pages that follow you will see how so many special individuals within the Princeton Academy community come together to make a powerful difference in the lives of our young men. Thank you for the wonderful gifts you have given us. We are so very grateful for your generous support of Princeton Academy and for the honor of partnering with you as we fulfill our purpose to bring out the best in each boy while making our world a better place for future generations. Go Hawks!

Letter from the Board Chair Dear Princeton Academy Community, On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I want to express my deep appreciation to all members of the Princeton Academy of the Sacred Heart community. Your commitment to our school and to the success of its programs is without parallel. This past year members of our community came together in record numbers to celebrate, share, support, learn from and enjoy each other. The highlight of the 2016-2017 school year was the creation of a shared vision for our future. Our strategic plan, Epic Vision: Soaring with Heart will provide the direction for our efforts going forward. Perhaps most importantly, it is a vision that was created by our entire community. Thank you for giving your time and talent to make this a reality. I am confident that under Rik’s leadership, we are on the right path and there are only great things to come. I am delighted to share with you the success of our fundraising efforts on the following pages - you will see firsthand how members of our community came together in support of the school. I am energized by participation from current parents and faculty and staff to The Fund for Princeton Academy. Early funding for Epic Vision will allow us to take flight. Your support of all fundraising initiatives make it possible for our boys to thrive in the unique environment that is Princeton Academy. As we embark on the next five years guided by Epic Vision: Soaring with Heart, I remain ever grateful for your loyalty, enthusiasm and generosity in support of our school. We are so thankful for this year of inspiring contributions. Thank you for making Princeton Academy a philanthropic priority and for all you do. Warmly,

Kenneth M. Harlan Chair of the Board of Trustees

Princeton Academy of the Sacred Heart

Acorn Legacy Society The Acorn Legacy Society was organized to honor the individuals and families who have chosen to include Princeton Academy of the Sacred Heart in their estate plans. Members of the Acorn Legacy Society have expressed the highest form of charitable support for the school’s mission. The Acorn Legacy Society takes its name from the beauty of our campus and from the nature of our mission. The symbol of the Society comes from the bas-relief of an oak tree directly over the Kalkus House entrance. At the foot of the oak tree are acorns, the small seeds that over many years grow into solid oaks when they find the fertile ground. At Princeton Academy, the Sacred Heart Goals and Criteria provide a rich soil that continues to yield “young men who, when faced with the challenges of their times, will make the right decisions.” If you are interested in including Princeton Academy in your estate plans, please visit our website at www.princetonacademy.org/giving.
