Our mission is to develop young men with active and creative minds, a sense of understanding and compassion for others, and the courage to act on their beliefs. We educate and develop the whole boy in mind, body and spirit.
Five Goals of the Sacred Heart Goal I A personal and active faith in God Goal II A deep respect for intellectual values Goal III A social awareness that impels to action Goal IV The building of community as a Christian value Goal V Personal growth in an atmosphere of wise freedom
Letter from the Headmaster In my second year as headmaster of Princeton Academy of the Sacred Heart, I find myself moved by and in awe of what has been accomplished in our school’s 18-year history. Inspired each day by the idea that what was once a vision is now a thriving reality, I am full of profound gratitude for all that has been done by so many to advance Princeton Academy to this point in time. I am proud to report that we received record donations in the 2015-2016 school year and achieved 100 percent Faculty and Staff participation in The Fund for Princeton Academy. We are grateful for the commitment of time, talent and treasure that our engaged community has made so that we can fulfill our mission. As a Sacred Heart community, the generosity of our spirit is one of the many reasons why Princeton Academy is so special. In a year devoted to building an Epic Vision that enables our boys to Soar with Heart, we are setting our sights to the horizon so as to propel our school into the future. Our world needs creative, compassionate and courageous young men who will be leaders of a just society; our mission is more relevant today than ever. Contributions to the Fund are an investment in our boys and henceforth, our future. Philanthropic support of our school enables our teachers to deliver a premier learning experience for our young men to be their best selves and pursue their passions, while honoring and celebrating the joys of boyhood. Participation in The Fund for Princeton Academy is a symbol of strength for our school that is representative of Sacred Heart Goal IV - the building of community. At Princeton Academy, every gift matters and has a transformational impact on how we educate and develop young men. As an emerging values-based thought leader for boys learning, this is paramount. In the spirit of Friday Thank Yous, gratitude is at the core of our being. With much to be thankful for, we are all truly blessed to be a part of our Princeton Academy community. Because Of Your Support, we bring out the best in boys.
Alfred (Rik) F. Dugan III Headmaster

why we give: Three Generations of Giving The Woodleys are keeping it in the family and passing it from one generation to the next... To say the Woodley and Callery families are generous is an understatement. They believe in giving back and have long supported causes close to them especially in education. For the past 18 years, their number one philanthropic priority has been Princeton Academy of the Sacred Heart. It started with the founding of the school - the Woodleys are a Founding Family, Fidelma is Trustee Emeritus, all three Woodley boys went to Princeton Academy: Ben ’09, James ’10 and Michael ’16. Grandparents Jim and Mary Callery are generous founding donors and frequent visitors to campus. All three generations are dedicated supporters of The Fund for Princeton Academy. So why, after 18 years, are all three generations still dedicated to the school and committed to its success? For them it is simple: the Woodleys and Callerys believe in giving back and can think of no better organization to support. They have seen first-hand what a Sacred Heart education can do for children. They have also seen what their support has done for the school. They have watched their gifts - of time, talent and treasure - make a huge difference. Bill Woodley says that he cannot imagine giving to an organization where gifts do not have the same impact. He believes that whatever is given to Princeton Academy makes a tangible difference. Mr. Callery says he and his wife believe strongly in a values-based education. He is not motivated by “fads or trends,” but rather is motivated by things that transcend generations. He equates giving to Princeton Academy to “planting perennials that don’t die after the blossoms fade. They go on for years so that many can enjoy their beauty.” The best legacy for their family will be a school that continues to transform lives for boys. As the Woodley boys have grown, they have been encouraged to give to causes that are close to their hearts. Naturally, they have chosen to support their alma mater. The Woodley parents have encouraged this generosity by matching every gift they give to the Princeton Academy. The Woodleys and Callerys are forever grateful to Princeton Academy for the wonderful education their boys received here. The Academy is their number one philanthropic priority and always will be. For them, it is not giving so much as giving back to a school that has provided, and will continue to provide, an educational and spiritual place for generations to come.
(from l to r): Bill Woodley, Mary Callery, Ben Woodley ’09, Jim Callery, Fidelma Woodley, Michael Woodley ’16 and James Woodley ’10
From Mr. Callery’s perspective... Many gift giving programs are often fashionable and transitory, but a gift made to a faith-based classical educational institution like PASH that provides an education based on a philosophical and moral tradition transcends the fads of the moment. It is like planting a perennial seed rather than an annual seed; the latter fades away after the blossoms have faded. The perennial, if fertilized from one generation to another, becomes a stronger plant capable of extending its impact and influence far beyond the timespan originally envisioned. Such thinking is the thought process that motivates Mary and I as well as our family to be supportive of generational gift giving at Princeton Academy of the Sacred Heart. Our three grandsons, like the many fine gentlemen who have passed through the Academy, have been infused with educational and moral values that will not only seek new horizons, but will also act as a tether tied to a solid anchor when the temptations and frailties of humanity as well as the storms of life begin to set one adrift.

Princeton Academy of the Sacred Heart
Acorn Legacy Society The Acorn Legacy Society was organized to honor the individuals and families who have chosen to include Princeton Academy of the Sacred Heart in their estate plans. Members of the Acorn Legacy Society have expressed the highest form of charitable support for the school’s mission. The Acorn Legacy Society takes its name from the beauty of our campus and from the nature of our mission. The symbol of the Society comes from the bas-relief of an oak tree directly over the Kalkus House entrance. At the foot of the oak tree are acorns, the small seeds that over many years grow into solid oaks when they find the fertile ground. At Princeton Academy, the Goals and Criteria of the Sacred Heart tradition provide a rich soil that continues to yield “young men who, when faced with the challenges of their times, will make the right decisions.” If you are interested in including Princeton Academy in your estate plans, please visit our website at www.princetonacademy.org.
