Green Spaces and Fun Places
Dear Parents, Faculty and Friends, On behalf of the Princeton Montessori Trustees, we extend our sincerest gratitude to all of you who donated to the 2014-15 campaign. Because of your generosity and continued commitment to the school, we were able to fulfill so many of the teachers’ wishes, from many new materials and a classroom makeover for lower elementary, to individual items by program like ipods for the toddler classrooms so that music can be shared across classrooms, and a vertical Lego Wall for the children in afterschool. These would not have been possible without your generous donations to Wants-n-Wishes. Your gifts also enabled us to meet last year’s goal of $150,000! We were delighted to see so many families among the list of our caring contributors as participation by all of the community is our main goal. Do take a look through this Annual Report attachment to see the impact our school community’s generosity has made on Princeton Montessori School. We are so excited to announce the focus of this year’s campaign! We have determined that we will focus on an area that most directly impacts the experience for children of all ages at our school while also meeting our new goals related to environmental education. The 2015-16 campaign theme is ‘Green Spaces and Fun Places’ and the wants and wishes are all related to maximizing the educational potential of our school grounds. For details and pictures, please see the attached brochure and imagine your child enjoying these additions in the coming school year! Save the Date! We are hoping to kick off the campaign in a big way and cannot do it without you. Tuesday December 1st is now known as ‘Giving Tuesday’ nationwide, and we hope you will take action on this date and call us during our Telethon evening or pledge online so that our Princeton Montessori School students can benefit. In order to make this year’s wishes come true we will need to surpass $150,000. Can we count on you to help? Our heartfelt appreciation goes out to our 2015-16 Campaign Volunteers: Tracey Baskin, Cindy Betz, Nicole Cannon, Jennifer Giblin, Dan Huang, Matt Lynch, Chandrika Sadhu, Caroline Scriven, Nili Schnitzer, Elizabeth Wasch, and Emma Zetterberg. In January, one of them will be reaching out to each of you to ask for your support. The campaign would not be possible without their gifts of time and energy! As with other independent schools, tuition alone does not cover all the costs associated with providing a superior Montessori education. In fact there is a 15% gap between tuition revenue and the actual cost of providing this quality education to children that Wants-nWishes can bolster. Unlike tuition, the benefit to you is that your donation is tax deductible. Thank you so much for considering a gift to our school. We hope we can count on you to make the dream of enhancements to our Green Spaces and Fun Places come true for all our children. We are thrilled to have you as part of our Princeton Montessori Community! Sincerely,
Peter Egbert Rita Zetterberg Trustees, Princeton Montessori Society Co-Chairs, Wants-n-Wishes Campaign

This year we hope to enhance our outdoor environment with our Fun Places and Green Spaces vision for all our students to be able to learn and play outside. We rely on donations from Trustees, Parents, Faculty, Staff, Alumni, Grandparents and Friends to support these enhancements that make our school a very special place for children to thrive. You’ll find the specific requests for this year’s Wants-n-Wishes focus on the following pages. These items are not covered by tuition. By sponsoring an item from the wish list, you are showing your support for our teachers and helping to make wishes come true, not only for children, but for the adults who care for them! Your gift to the Wants-n-Wishes campaign will have a direct impact on the everyday lives of students.
Please help us reach our goal of $150,000!

Why Give? Why are you asking me to give? The Wants-n-Wishes Campaign is the school’s single most important source of much-needed unrestricted revenue. It is a vital part of each year’s operating budget, contributing to every part of Princeton Montessori School’s operations. Campaign gifts allow us to attract and retain the very best teachers, provide quality materials, and provide our students with a wide variety of diverse experiences. In brief, the Wants-n-Wishes Campaign touches all aspects of our school.
How can my family contribute? Gifts of every size are gratefully appreciated. Please give as generously as you can. Consistent participation is just as important as the donation amount. An investment in the present and future of Princeton Montessori School is one that will pay life-time dividends for your children and for future generations. In addition, your donation, unlike tuition, is 100% tax-deductible.
When should I give? The Wants-n-Wishes Campaign kicks off with a Telethon on Tuesday, December 1st. Between January and March, a campaign volunteer will reach out to you via email to seek your participation. Donations are gratefully accepted up to July 30th, but the best gift of all is an early commitment.
Why don’t you just raise the tuition? A full tuition at Princeton Montessori School does not cover the complete cost of educating each student. In fact there is at least a 15% gap between tuition revenue and the full cost of continuing to provide a world-class school and faculty. In addition, gifts to the Wants-n-Wishes Campaign are 100% tax-deductible while tuition is not.
Who supports the Wants-n-Wishes Campaign? Each family, past and present, plays an active role in the school community. Our current parents, former parents, grandparents, alumni, trustees, friends, faculty, and staff share the responsibility of meeting the school’s educational goals and ensuring a soundly governed and financially healthy institution.
Do other schools ask for donations to their annual campaign? Every independent school and university in this country and abroad has an annual campaign. It is an important tool that helps keep tuition affordable and enhances the children’s educational experience. A common goal of 100% participation builds community and inspires others to give.
“Our family cherishes the Wants-and-Wishes campaign each year as it creates an opportunity to have a direct impact on our school’s evolving vision, and, best of all, helps us honor teachers and faculty in the most genuine way.” – Ayse Koyluoglu, current parent, mother of Kerem and Defne
