OUR LAYUP PROCESS We lay all up all of our skis in our custom trays, using only the highest grade materials. Our trays have engineered ramps using splines to create the smoothest rocker lines and highest performance camber profiles available. Want to fine tune your ride? Talk to us about adding reinforcement in the layup process or adjusting the ramp kick to get your dream profiles. Anything is possible with Prior.

QUAD GLASS Quad Glass construction is our standard construction. The Quad Glass construction uses a Quad-Directional fiber weave with unidirectional carbon stringers for additional pop. Providing the most stable and damp ride, the Quad Glass has unparalleled inbounds performance through varied conditions & heavy landings. Perfect for skiers looking for a confidence inspiring & smooth ride in all conditions. XTC XTC is our standard carbon weave for skis. The XTC construction is our lightest to date. The XTC construction uses highly customized weave patterns with aerospace grade carbon fabric. Merged with our epoxy resin the carbon construction shaves 15% of weight from a traditional glass layup. XTC is best suited for backcountry set ups or skiers that are after the lowest swing weights possible and a playful ski.
Rocker profiles affect the float, edge engagement and pop of a ski. A deep early rise rocker may provide great float in powder, but will create a shorter effective edge during preliminary carves. As the ski is flexed in a carve, the ski will naturally sit into a ‘full rocker’ shape and engage the rest of the side-cut. Camber provides additional pop & a blend of the two can provide a great balance. All of our rocker profiles are created using our custom blended trays - allowing us to provide almost any combination or specs you need. Snow type and intended use are the determining factors when selecting rocker profile.
FLEX EXPLAINED The flex of a ski has a huge impact on the overall stability and performance characteristics. At Prior, we talk about the flex of a ski in terms of flex and rebound. A ski with a soft flex will provide a smoother ride at slower speeds, easier arc creation in a turn, and a more forgiving characteristic. Stiff skis provide a more responsive ride and stability at higher speeds. We adjust our flex patterns through core profiling and layup process to ensure that our ski flex is dialed for intended use. Consider the flex of your ski when purchasing based on your weight and skiing style. A more aggressive rider may want a stiffer ski, yet a creative skier may want a combination of both. If you can’t find exactly what you are looking for then talk to us about custom flex options to fine tune your ride.

ROCKER PROFILES
STATED RADIUS Stated radius is our incorporated side-cut to any ski. The stated radius is the maximum radius carve that a ski can be driven through. The combination of flex and side-cut is what will dictate the agility of a ski, and both should be taken into account when deciding what ski is right for you. A soft ski with a longer radius can still be carved at a tight radius, yet a stiff ski with a tight radius can not be carved in a long radius. All of our flex patterns & radius are matched according to desired characteristics and intended use.

HYBRID ROCKER Hybrid Rocker is best suited to all mountain skis. Our hybrid rocker profile incorporates an early rise tip, with subtle traditional camber underfoot. The early rise rockers allows for more float in the powder, as well as en quicker edge to edge transition between turns. The raised contact point of Hybrid Rocker profiles encourages quicker disengagement between turns for a playful and nimble ride in deep snow & tight trees.
POWDER ROCKER Our Powder Rocker profile provides the most float out of any rocker profile. A deep early rise and flat camber underfoot allows for seamless edge to edge transitions on fat skis. The flat camber profiles allows for quicker turns in deep conditions and the trees, while allowing for easy engagement of side-cut on hard pack, keeping the skis versatile in all conditions.
TWIN ROCKER Twin Rocker has been specifically designed for our freestyle twins. Early rise in both the tip and the tail allows for seamless edge to edge transitions, float when riding regular or switch & stability underfoot. The Twin Rocker allows for easy release of the tail at slower speeds for playful skiing and tight speed scrubs in technical terrain. All Twin Rocker profiles have a stable camber platform underfoot, retaining pop and improving preliminary edge engagement. Twin profiles give opportunity for a progressive boot center and creative skiing. TRADITIONAL CAMBER Traditional Camber is designed for maximum edge hold and pop. Hard-pack snow and groomers is where Traditional Camber Profiles excel due to the increased contact area and aggressive engagement. Traditional Camber is best suited for frontside skis such as the patroller, or blended with a twin profile for a playful yet stable park orientated ski such as the Northwest 90.

PROGRESSIVE TWIN FLEX Progressive Twin Flex is specifically designed for our freestyle line. Ideal for the Northwest, CBC and Symphony the PTF provides a playful, yet stable platform for creative skiers. The overall flex pattern is symmetrical, with an exponential increase in stiffness towards the ski center. The soft tip and tail gives creative skiers the ability to butter, land switch and provide forgiveness on deeper landings or varied conditions. The stiff platform underfoot ensures stability and responsiveness of all skis, without hindering pop & playfulness. BM FLEX Big Mountain Flex (BM for short) is our most aggressive flex pattern integrated into the Overlord, Harmony and A Star. The ABM Flex delivers an aggressive platform underfoot for maximum stability on landings and higher speeds. A liner flex progression allows for predictable skiing and is best suited to skiers that are looking for a stiff ski to punch big landings and ski at high speeds. AM FLEX

All Mountain Flex (AM Flex for short) is our every day, directional charging flex pattern. Scaled versions of the AM flex pattern is integrated into the Husume, Joffre & Flute. The AM Flex pattern provides predictable linear flex to the ski, encouraging confidence and stability in all conditions.
Rocker profiles, Flex & Radius are all carefully considered and refined during ski design & development.
FS FLEX Frontside Flex (FS Flex for short) is an aggressive all mountain flex. A stiff profile allows for maximum edge hold, and is usually paired with Traditional Camber. FS Flex is stiff, aggressive and provides maximum power transfer during on groomed & firm snow.

Designed as a one ski quiver, the Northwest came from Prior Athlete and staff demands for a do-it all ski. A versatile waist width allows the Northwest to rip a turn, float in the powder and remain playful in all conditions. From charging cliffs to throwing down in the Black Park, the Northwest is our staff pick for a single ski in BC conditions. Build in carbon to save weight, or quad-glass to instill confidence and a buttery smooth ride. The NW116 is new for this year, building on the success of the Northwest 100 & 110. THE JOFFRE 100 Designed for steep chutes & the most technical backcountry lines, the Joffre will be your most trusted ski of choice. From icy couloirs to deep trees the Joffre will excel thanks to it’s narrower waist width & early rise rocker. This design has taken inspiration from the highly successful Husume and Flute. The Joffre is 101mm under foot and offers exceptional performance on those steeper pitches and less accessible runs. Working with local artist Clarence mills for another year, we are always stoked with the art he comes with. This year’s haida bear represents courage, physical strength and leadership. In Haida culture the bear is referred to as “Elder Kinsman” and was treated like a high ranking guest. This years graphic is split into two halves, making a whole piece if you order the left and the right - great for his and hers as the Patroller is a unisex ski.
THE PATROLLER Designed as a frontside all mountain ski, the Patroller is a classic quiver ski that has been re-imagined. The patroller takes traditional construction preferences and blends them with modern design principles. The oversized waist width and shovel, combined with a traditional camber profile allows the patroller to rip a groomer with ease, yet be skied over the whole mountain no matter what conditions you find.

THE A.STAR 124 Our widest ski in the lineup, and naturally the ski that will provide you with the most float. Designed for hell-powered excursions the A.Star is a quiver ski for those who look to stay on top during the deepest days on record. A stiff flex and a powder rocker profile allows the A-Star to be driven through the front of the boot no matter how deep the snow gets. The A-Star responds best at high speed and on fall-line descents. The 124mm underfoot platform will let the ski punch up from deep landings and float effortlessly. MA S O N MA S HO N Mason’s photography draws from a deep well of influence. Growing up in Vernon BC, and having spent much of his adult life residing in Whistler BC Canada, he honed his craft in a location known worldwide as the holy grail of action sports. Here is where his photography career began. Pursuing the sports he loved Mason became one of the most prolific Whistler ski, snowboard and mountain bike photographers in an area saturated with camera talent. As his passion for the lens grew as did his repertoire of sports. Surfing had always been an infatuation for Mason and it was only natural for him to shoot it. A professional Mountain Biker in his own right, Mason has often been the subject of others lenses and has appeared in magazines worldwide.

KAT E ZE SS EL Kate Zessel is a local Whistler artist, drawing inspiration from the natural wonder and surroundings that she calls home. Originally from Vancouver, she made the move from weekend warrior to pursue her mountain life full time. Putting pen to paper allows her to capture moments of her adventures into visual pieces. You can find her unique blend of intricate line work, patterns and nature hanging proudly on the walls of local art events in Whistler, adorning our top-sheets of skis and snowboards and as graphics for different outdoor brands such as Whistler Blackcomb and The North Face. Clarence Mills, also known as the ‘Haida Guy’ is a critically acclaimed artist hailing from the shores of Haida Gwaii. Clarence produces some of the most powerful west coast art today and is a member of the Eagle Clan, taking the Split Raven and Grizzly Bear as his crests.
Clarence is a carver at heart, and his craftsmanship can be found both near and far. Every year Prior collaborates with Clarence to bring you incredible native art that represents Clarence’s incredible talent and our connection to our community and heritage.
