training to ensure compliant and correct use of the testing device.

Performance

The digital keypad and display makes testing easy with an easy to navigate menu that allows you to select the testing method, including a “Clear” option that uses an extraction fan to remove any smoke from the head, ensuring a quick reset of the detector and reducing the chance of a re-alarm.

This detector uses pressurised smoke capsules rather than conventional aerosol that can contaminate detectors, reduce sensitivity, and reduce the detector life span.

Conclusion

The tester allows you to easy and successfully test multiple different detection types including; Optical Smoke, Low and High Heat, and Multi-detectors without having to change your apparatus (the 2000 range also allows you to test CO type detectors). The product is very well built yet light enough to be transportable. The tester head includes a digital display that provides easy navigation to the testing menus, the buttons on this display are very prominent and well positioned to allow for easy use. The weak point in this product is the access flap that covers the smoke capsule as it is made from light plastic on a thin hinge which could easily be broken or become loose over time. However, the capsules used click into place so the risk of the module falling out during use is unlikely.

This product is suitable for all testing applications for systems comprising of smoke, heat and multi-detectors. The tester is light and portable and is also compatible with the existing no climb solo poles, so this could be a great addition or upgrade to your existing testing devices.
