$$$ = Projected Top 5 Money Winner

Odds makers say it’s going to be very difficult to bet against the reigning world champion who has averaged $115,000 a year in Las Vegas over the last three years. He has the longest current riding streak in Las Vegas at 22 and has placed 18 times. For the season he scored over 80 points 70 times, 82% of his qualified rides 33 times he was first or second in go-rounds, finals and one headers. A solid bet to get your team off on the right track every performance.

Hometown: Zwingle, Iowa Key Win: San Antonio, TX WNFR Qualifications: 4

Tanner Aus Qualifying for his third straight Wrangler National Finals Rodeo, Tanner Aus has continued to climb in the Weather Guard World Standings. The winner of three go-rounds last year went out of the average in the fourth go-round needing only a score of 64 to have won 2nd in the average. This year he has the second best riding percentage among finalists having qualified on 104 of 105 head and 61 of those were over 80. Look for him to continue his climb in WNFR earnings.

Hometown: Granite Falls, Minnesota Key Win: Austin, TX WNFR Qualifications: 3

Clayton Biglow Winning the Resistol Rookie of the Year title in 2016 didn’t give Biglow the sophomore blues, it just lit a fire in him. Of the finalists he is tied for first placing first or second on 30% with two wins and a runner-up spot last year. He may not have had as many wins as some this year, but he was second more than anyone, 14 times in all averages and one headers. He placed the third highest percentage of rodeos entered. He made the second highest jump in the standings, 13 spots since May 1 and during the last two months of the season won more than any other bareback rider, the fourth highest in all events.

Hometown: Clements, California Key Win: JBP Puyallup, WA WNFR Qualifications: 2

J.R. Vezain J.R. Vezain is the only riding event contestant that had a 100% riding success rate at rodeos in the United States and 70% of those were for over 80 points. He may very well be riding the best he has in his six year career as he placed at the second highest percentage of rodeos in so doing he jumped 11 spots and won the third highest amount since May 1. Certainly not to be overlooked.

Hometown: Cowley, Wyoming Key Win: Edmonton, AB WNFR Qualifications: 5

Wyatt Denny In his rookie WNFR a year ago Wyatt placed on five of the ten that he got on, including his first one, winning second in three rounds and twice was within a point of the round win. He wasn’t as consistant as he would have liked, going out on two head and has improved on that this year. His wins have also improved, 15 times he finished first or second and 19 times he won first or second in go-rounds, finals and one headers. He was third best on the year jumping 12 spots from May 1 winning the fourth most money in that time frame. He will certainly be a hometown favorite.

Hometown: Minden, Nevada Key Win: Salt Lake City, UT WNFR Qualifications: 2

Caleb Bennett

By far Caleb Bennett had his best WNFR last year, placing in five go-rounds and and the average. In his five qualifications he has qualified on all but one horse and has now ridden 37 head in a row. Among the finalists he has placed in 18 go-rounds, the second highest amount, and four times in the average, the most. He had the sixth best riding percentage of the year and 60% of his rides were over 80 points. Four of them coming at his biggest win of the year, the Ram National Circuit Finals when he won the average and shared third in the finals.

Hometown: Tremonton, Utah Key Win: RNCFR-Kissimmee, FL WNFR Qualifications: 6

Jake Brown

Although he’s been very respectable at his first two WNFR’s, Jake Brown has yet to have the WNFR many know he is capable of. The way he’s been riding this may be the year and make him one of the sleepers to watch. He placed at the highest percentage of rodeos entered, 64%, and won the most one head competitions, 19, four more than second place. With 58 scores over 80, he shared the third highest total of the year.

Jake Vold

8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15

$$ Jake Vold has averaged $120,164 over the last two WNFR’s, and considering that he has placed 17 times on the 20 consecutive qualified rides he’s made should make him one of the favorites for this year. He went to the second fewest rodeos for the year yet still shared the third highest total of winning go-rounds, finals, and one head rodeos. He was fourth best at 72% of his rides were over 80 points. He made the biggest jump of 17 spots from May and won the third highest amount of money in September.

Hometown: Ponoka, Alberta Key Win: Ponoka, AB WNFR Qualifications: 3

Richmond Champion

Richmond Champion has shown his aggressiveness and ability to handle situations many times throughout his career while producing winning rides. He began the year with an 85 point ride at Denver, CO and closed it with an 84.5 at the Wrangler Champions Challenge at Sioux Falls, SD. In between he placed at the fourth highest percentage of rodeos while also qualifying among the top three for the Canadian ProRodeo Finals. Champion will celebrate his birthday on the last day of the WNFR and has the talent to celebrate as a champion.

Hometown: The Woodlands, Texas Key Win: Ellensburg, WA WNFR Qualifications: 3

Orin Larsen

During the 2017 season Orin Larsen rose to the occasion against the toughest competition to win 4 Wrangler Champions Challenges. He was also third best winning 12 one head competitions while accumulating the 4th best riding percentage and second best percentage of qualified rides over 80 points, 76%. He has the momentum as he shared the top spot for biggest jump made over the last two months, 8 places and won the most money during the last month of the season. For many, he should be one of the “picks to click” at the WNFR.

Hometown: Inglis, Manitoba Key Win: Lovington, NM WNFR Qualifications: 3

Bill Tutor

After finishing the 2016 season in the 16th position Bill Tutor was not going to be denied his first WNFR qualification. After winning Rosenberg, TX and finishing second at Seguin, TX, Tulsa, OK and the All American Finals Rodeo early on in the 2017 season he won the Ram Texas Circuit Finals Rodeo by an amazing 20.5 points. He was fifth best on the year with 55 rides over 80 points and fourth best at 25 times was first or second in all finals, averages and one head competitions.

Hometown: Huntsville, Texas Key Win: Jackson, MS WNFR Qualifications: 0

Steven Dent

After not competing for three weeks shy of two years, this seven time WNFR veteran came back with a vengeance. Steven Dent, who has ridden 67 of 70 at the WNFR placing 28 times in Las Vegas, had the third best riding success rate qualifying on 89 of 90 head scoring the sixth highest number of rides over 80 at 54. Ten times he was first and ten times second in all averages and one head competitions. For the last two months of the season he shared the top spot of jumping eight spots while winning the fourth largest total over those two months. Expect Dent to make up as much ground at the WNFR.

Hometown: Mullen, Nebraska Key Win: Spanish Fork, UT WNFR Qualifications: 8

R.C. Landingham

$

One of the pleasant surprises at the 2017 WNFR R.C. won twice and placed in four more and the average to finish sixth in the final Weather Guard world standings. After a strong start to the 2017 season, where he lead the world title race at one point, he missed nearly two months from mid June to August. Competing at less rodeos than anyone, one half of most, he came back strong with three wins and second at the final Wrangler Champions Challenge with an 87 point ride. He has to be considered a good buy for this year’s WNFR.

Hometown: Hat Creek, California Key Win: RNCFR-Kissimmee, FL WNFR Qualifications: 2

Ty Breuer

The first year that Ty Breuer qualified for the WNFR he injured his elbow during the third goround, and although it required surgery following the rodeo he was able to tough it out. He is a gritty guy with lots of try and his perseverance has paid off. He was the only man to win two Gold and Silver Tour one headers and 17 times was either first or second in all averages and one head rodeos. He is a two time champion of the Ram Badlands Circuit Finals Rodeo as well as year end.

Hometown: Mandan, North Dakota Key Win: Nampa, ID WNFR Qualifications: 3

Mason Clements

Mason Clements may very well be the next first time WNFR contestant to follow previous first time contestants that left rodeo fans talking about what a great future is in front of him. He came so close to qualifying a year ago after finishing second in the Resistol Rookie of the Year race in 2015. Both years he won the Ram Wilderness Circuit Finals Rodeo. In going to the fourth fewest rodeos this year he still managed to turn in the seventh highest number of rides over 80 points, one of them at Austin, TX when he was 86 to qualify for the finals and went on to win second. He jumped two spots the last month of the season winning the sixth most money.

STEER WRESTLING

$$$ = Projected Top 5 Money Winner

Ty Erickson $$$

1 2 3 4 5 6 7

After two years of tough luck, hopefully the third year will be the charm for world leader Ty Erickson. Among the finalists he is the third leading money winner with $221,531 after placing 17 times. For the year he had the most runs under 4.5 seconds, 39 which was over 20% better than second, and included winning the finals at San Antonio, TX in 3.8. Erickson also placed at the highest percentage of rodeos entered as well as leading the pack with 16 times placing in the average.

Hometown: Helena, Montana Key Win: San Antonio, TX WNFR Qualifications: 4

Olin Hannum

Olin Hannum returns to the WNFR after a six year hiatus. He doesn’t often get away from the Wilderness Circuit, but after finishing as the reserve champion at the All American ProRodeo Series in Waco he closed out the year by winning his fourth Wilderness Circuit title to qualify for the Ram NCFR in Kissimmee, FL where he won over $20,000 and gave him more incentive to travel. A go-round winner at his first WNFR, Hannum placed at the third highest percentage of rodeos was second best placing at 22 one head rodeos. He also won the third most money the last two months.

Hometown: Malad, Idaho Key Win: Livingston, MT WNFR Qualifications: 2

Tyler Pearson

Tyler Pearson has been on a hot streak since the first of May, winning more money than any other steer wrestler and moving eight spots in the world standings. Starting with a go-round winning 3.4 second run at Guymon, OK, Pearson was under 4.5 seconds on more than 53% of his runs. He was first or second 14 times in go-rounds, finals, or one head rodeos, including a second place 4.2 at Salt Lake City, UT. After qualifying for the WNFR in 2013 where he placed fourth in the average he finished 30th in 2014 and 18th in 2015 then rarely competed a year ago.

Hometown: Louisville, Mississippi Key Win: Tucson, AZ WNFR Qualifications: 2

Tyler Waguespack

$$

The reigning world champion returns to Las Vegas looking to duplicate his performance of 2016 when he earned a record $213,218 by winning three go-rounds, second in two, and placing in three more to win the average by nearly eight seconds. Among finals contestants he averages the most money won with $13,782. He has a smaller deficit to make up this year after placing at the second highest percentage of rodeos with the fourth best 28 runs under 4.5 seconds.

Hometown: Gonzales, Louisiana Key Win: AA PRF - Waco TX WNFR Qualifications: 3

Scott Guenthner

This talented, athletic 6’1’, 210 pound WNFR rookie sure didn’t compete like one during the year. He won the most one headers of anyone, plus was second at six more for the largest total of first and second. He was third best with 29 runs under 4.5 seconds and placed at the fourth highest percentage of rodeos. No contestant won more money than he did over the last two months of the season, nearly half of his total and won the second most money since the first of May as he moved approximately 20 spots in the world standings.

Hometown: Provost, Alberta Key Win: Medicine Hat, AB WNFR Qualifications: 1

Baylor Roche

Although this two time WNFR contestant went to the second fewest rodeos of anyone he had a tremendous year and closed it out winning the second most money over the last two months of the season and the fourth most the last month. That included winning the championship at the Justin Boots Playoffs in Puyallup, WA. In doing so he had the fourth best total of winning first or second in all go-rounds, finals, and one head rodeos.

Hometown: Tremonton, Utah Key Win: San Angelo, TX WNFR Qualifications: 3

Ryle Smith

A WNFR tie-down roper a year ago, this versatile rodeo athlete returns as a steer wrestling contestant this year. The steer wrestling is nothing new to Ryle as he has won several all-around titles thanks to it, he just didn’t compete all the time particularly last year until former WNFR contestant Corky Warren and his father convinced him that as good as was he should enter more. Although he went to the fewest rodeos, he had a big jump by finishing third at Fort Worth, TX and Red Bluff, CA. He closed out the year winning the third most money over the last five months.

Tanner Milan

Nick Guy

Two years ago Tanner Milan finished third in the aggregate at his first WNFR. After the spring run he usually stays north of the border, but after going 3.7 at Billings, MT for second and 3.6 for first at Odessa, TX, then 3.8 at Logandale, NV on his way to placing in the aggregate he stayed south a little more. With the sixth best total of 23 times under 4.5 seconds and third best finish of winning six one head rodeos Milan won the fourth highest total during the last five months of the season and jumped approximately 24 spots for his second WNFR appearance.

Hometown: Cochrane, Alberta Key Win: Ponoka, AB WNFR Qualifications: 2 Of WNFR contestants Nick Guy has the second best finish of placing 20 times in his four qualifications. He also has the fourth best total winnings in Las Vegas of $173,905 having placed in the aggregate three times. On the year he had the second highest total of placing in the average 12 times. He had the third best total of six times winning first or second at all Wrangler Champions Challenges, the All American, and Ram Circuit Finals having won the average at both the Ram Mountain States Circuit Finals and the Ram National Circuit Finals.

Hometown: Sparta, Wisconsin Key Win: Ram NCFRKissimmee, FL WNFR Qualifications: 5

Dakota Eldridge This Silver State cowboy can’t get back to Las Vegas fast enough. Among the finalists he is the current money leader at $393,688 and has gone 40 for 40 on his cattle there to place in 18 go-rounds and place in the aggregate all four years, a first, second, third, and fourth. He is first having won five go-rounds and seven times finishing first or second. He was 3.3 twice this year to win go-rounds, and along with winning the Gold tour rodeos in Salinas and Clovis, CA he also won it in Reno, NV.

Hometown: Elko, Nevada Key Win: Reno, NV WNFR Qualifications: 5

Kyle Irwin

After two WNFR qualifications, 2014 and 2015, and a 3.7 second run at Denver in January 2016 Kyle Irwin didn’t compete for the next nine months. When he did start competing he worked hard at it with a second best finish of winning seven one head rodeos and 11 times finishing first or second at one go-round events. He threw the highest percentage of steers under 4.5 seconds of his winning runs, 77.3%. Since May he tied for third best at moving approximately 19 spots over the last five months of the season anxious to get back to Las Vegas where he’s won $121,950.

Hometown: Robertsdale, Alabama Key Win: Cody, WY WNFR Qualifications: 3

Jon Ragatz

For the past few years Jon Ragatz has primarily stayed in the Great Lakes Circuit where five times he won the Ram Great Lake Circuit Finals Rodeo and twice the year end championship. After winning two go-rounds at the All American Finals in Waco, TX and his largest win of the year at San Antonio, TX he hit the road a little more. He had eight top two average finishes and 11 times was first or second in all go-rounds, finals and one head rodeos as 53% of his winning runs were under 4. 5 seconds.

Hometown: Beetown, Wisconsins Key Win: Albuquerque, NM WNFR Qualifications: 1

J.D. Struxness

$

Last year J.D. Struxness qualified in the number four position and won $128,673 dollars by winning four go-rounds and placing in two more. Losing the inside horn on his second steer possibly cost him much more in the aggregate. He comes in as a much better bargain this year after throwing 63% of his winning steers in under 4.5 seconds, the fourth best of all contestants. He was also fourth best the last two months jumping six spots in the Weather Guard World Standings. Finishing as reserve champion at the Ram National Circuit Finals was his biggest win of the year.

Hometown: Appleton, Minnesota Key Win: Ram NCFRKissimmee, FL WNFR Qualifications: 2

Rowdy Parrott

The 2014 Resistol Rookie of the Year was just outside the top 20 a year ago. He wasn’t about to let that happen again getting a good start as the reserve champion at Fort Worth, TX, his biggest win of the year. He finished the year with the second best record of having 66% of his winning runs under 4.5 seconds. He was 3.7, 3.9, and 3.7 to win Caldwell, ID then followed it up with a pair of 3.4 second runs to win Kennewick, WA. He made the second biggest jump the last month of the season by moving eight spots after he won more money in September and any other steer wrestler.

In just his second year of competition Jr. Dees won’t be legally old enough to go to the South Point for the buckle presentation, which he’s certainly liable to get to as he’ll admit that he tends to be aggressive. The majority of his rodeos were with three time WNFR qualifier Matt Zancanella, however under the format for Salt City he teamed with Tyler McKnight for his biggest win of the year. Travis Graves

8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15

Travis Graves was his usual stellar self during the season, particularly during the final two months to not only guarantee that he would qualify for his ninth WNFR but his partner as well. He moved seven spots over the last two months, with four of them coming during the month of September when they had their biggest win of the year at the Pendleton Round-Up. He placed in the second highest number of aggregate rodeos and shared the highest amount of times to place overall.

Hometown: Jay, Oklahoma Key Win: Pendleton, OR WNFR Qualifications: 9

Jade Corkill Three-time world champion also guaranteed a repeat performance at the WNFR with his heroics during the final two months of the rodeo season. He had the largest jump of eight spots over the last two months as he won more than 50% of his yearly total. At the WNFR among current contestants he has the third highest total of placing in 40 go-rounds as well as third highest earnings of $523,009 during his previous eight appearances.

Hometown: Fallon, Nevada Key Win: Ogden, UT WNFR Qualifications: 9

Wesley Thorp

Just like the 2016 season Wesley Thorp began roping with various partners before joining with his regular partner to place for the first time at Odessa, TX. The only difference this year was that Thorp placed with nearly twice the amount of people that he did a year ago, seven. It didn’t slow him down as he won more final go-rounds than any other and did it with multiple partners. He also shared the highest amount of times to win first or second at all finals and Gold or Silver Tour Rodeos. He was sixth best on the year with 21 runs under five seconds.

Hometown: Throckmorton, Texas Key Win: Reno, NV WNFR Qualifications: 2

Tyler McKnight

Tyler McKnight also had the versatility to rope and win with seven different partners, however he placed at multiple rodeos with three of them. But it was the single ones that notched his first trip to the WNFR. He had his second largest rodeo of the year winning the All American Pro Rodeo Tour Finals with Jake Cooper and his largest win with Jr. Dees at Salt Lake City, UT. He made the most appearances with Tom Richards that also produced his third and fourth largest wins of the year at San Antonio and Pecos, TX.

Hometown: Wells, Texas Key Win: Salt Lake City, UT WNFR Qualifications: 1

Joseph Harrison

First time WNFR qualifier Joseph Harrison says that he “tends to throw faster”. That helped him enjoy his largest win of the year at the Gold Tour Rodeo in St. Paul, OR where he partnered with Charly Crawford for a new arena record. It also helped him make the biggest jump of any heeler during the last five months of the season of approximately 22 spots. During that time frame he shared the second most times to win first or second at one head rodeos and was ranked fourth placing in 12 averages.

Hometown: Overbrook, Oklahoma Key Win: St. Paul, OR WNFR Qualifications: 1

Jake Minor

Second time WNFR qualifier Jake Minor went to less rodeos than any other among the top 15 yet he managed fifth best at placing in 28 go-rounds. He and partner Garrett Rogers also ranked second at winning finishing as the reserve in all finals and shared first winning first or second in rodeo finals and Gold and Silver Tour Rodeos. Of his winning runs 59% were under five seconds.

Hometown: Ellensburg, Washington Key Win: Austin, TX WNFR Qualifications: 2

Kory Koontz Of all contesting heelers WNFR champion Kory Koontz has the highest earnings of $762,222 and has placed in the most go-rounds, 88. Considering that he has qualified 20 previous times it is even more remarkable that has the fifth best winning record of placing on 44% of all qualified runs. He also has the most go-round wins at 21 and 34 times has been either first or second. For the year he ranked fourth at 55.9% of his winning runs were under 4.5 seconds.

Hometown: Stephenville, Texas Key Win: Denver, CO WNFR Qualifications: 21

Jeremy Buhler

In 2016 Jeremy Buhler and Levi Simpson caused some of the most talk at the WNFR as they earned a record $186,000 in winning not only the WNFR title but also the world championship. Unfortunately Levi Simpson finished 16th this year and won’t be joining Buhler at the Thomas and Mack Arena, however given his performance from a year ago and what he did during the 2017 season it would appear that it won’t affect Buhler. During the season he had the second highest total of placing at one go-round rodeos. And that is how you win in Las Vegas - one run at a time.

PRO FANTASY RODEO

SADDLE BRONC RIDING Jacobs Crawley

1 2 3 4 5 6 7

World and two-time WNFR champion Jacobs Crawley has been on lots of wild rides, particularly this season, that have produced more rides over 80 points than any other saddle bronc rider. For the year he qualified on the highest percentage of qualified rides as well as the highest percentage of money winning rides over 80 points. The man that has averaged the most earnings among contestants that have competed the last three years had the most wins this year in all go-rounds and one head rodeos as well as sharing the top spot for all Wrangler Champion Challenges and one headers.

Hometown: Boerne, TX Key Win: Ram NCF-Kissimmee, FL WNFR Qualifications: 7

Zeke Thurston

What a performance this man turned in at the 2016 WNFR to claim the world and WNFR titles. And he has kept it up this season, despite going to the third fewest rodeos jumped two spots from where he qualified for the WNFR a year ago, placing in the second highest number of go-rounds. He shared the third best ranking, finishing first or second at one head competitions and second-best number of averages to place. He had the third highest percentage of qualified rides over 80 points.

Hometown: Big Valley, AB Key Win: Austin, TX WNFR Qualifications: 3

CoBurn Bradshaw

$$$

CoBurn Bradshaw was 37 hundredths of a second from becoming the only man to ride all ten horses at the 2016 WNFR. That margin is the only blemish on two strong years in Las Vegas where he has the second highest average earnings and percentage of placing among the current contestants. For the 2017 season, he qualified on the third highest percentage of attempts. He closed the season with the most final go-round wins, including the Pendleton Round-Up, which helped him record the most money of any saddle bronc rider in September and second most of any event.

Hometown: Beaver, UT Key Win: San Antonio, TX WNFR Qualifications: 3

Cody DeMoss

This veteran qualified for the 13th WNFR, where he has earned $774,825 while placing in 54 go-rounds, 28 of which were either first or second. That is nearly 25% of every time he nodded his head, third best among the contestants. He has placed 52% of the time he nods. On the year, he went to the second fewest amount of rodeos, in fact 35% less than most contestants, but strong finishes at places like Cheyenne, WY, Fort Worth, TX, and winning Salt Lake City, UT afforded him that luxury.

Hometown: Heflin, LA Key Win: Salt Lake City, UT WNFR Qualifications: 13

Layton Green

$$

After finishing 19th and 24th respectively over the last two seasons, Layton Green has had a real break out season in 2017. Not only qualifying for the WNFR among the top five, he also leads the Canadian standings, with a lead nearly double the number two man. He shared the highest amount of victories at one head rodeos and had the most times to finish first or second at one go-round rodeos. During the last five months of the season, he was one of the hottest men in professional rodeo, jumping approximately 28 spots and winning over $100,000.

Hometown: Meeting, Creek, AB Key Win: Ponoka, AB WNFR Qualifications: 1

Brody Cress

Another man that really had a break out season in 2017 after finishing 98th a year ago. Along the way pulling off a rarity of winning Cheyenne, Pendleton, and Salinas in the same year. He finished third best on the year with 51 rides over 80 points and shared third in total number of times to finish first or second at all one head rodeos and Wrangler Champions Challenges. He also placed at the third highest number of rodeos, helping him to make the biggest jump over the last two months of the year and winning the second most money among all rodeo events.

Hometown: Hillsdale, WY Key Win: Cheyenne, WY WNFR Qualifications: 1

Hardy Braden

It’s been said many times that good things come in three’s as Hardy Braden also made a big move over the last two years, up from 29th and 55th to seventh. He did it by going to the fewest rodeos of any qualifier. He was on solid ground the entire season starting with a win at the Ram Prairie Circuit Finals, then winning go-rounds at places such as San Antonio, where he also shared the final round win, Austin, TX, finishing as the reserve champion, and the Pendleton Round-Up where he was third. During the year he made the second highest percentage of qualified rides.

Ryder Wright

8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15

$

The winner of five go-rounds in Las Vegas last year, all over 85 points, Ryder Wright was electrifying to say the least. He has kept that momentum through the 2017 season having the fourth highest total of qualified rides over 80 points, also the fourth highest percentage of scores over 80. He shared the highest number of wins at one head rodeos and fourth amount of times to place. His biggest win of the year was in February at San Angelo, TX, but he made the second largest move during September when he won the third largest amount of any saddle bronc rider.

Hometown: Milford, UT Key Win: San Angelo, TX WNFR Qualifications: 2

Sterling Crawley

In qualifying for his fourth WNFR, Sterling Crawley was one of the most consistent saddle bronc riders. He placed at the second highest number of rodeos and the third highest number of go-rounds. He recorded the second highest number of rides over 80 points, three of them at 86 points among his five largest wins at San Juan Capistrano, CA, Prescott, AZ, and Walla Walla, WA. He also had the most reserve championships of anyone at one go-round rodeos and shared the highest number of go-round wins at Gold Tour Rodeos.

Hometown: Stephenville, TX Key Win: Prescott, AZ WNFR Qualifications: 4

Jake Wright

In his five previous WNFR appearances, Jake Wright has placed 54% of the time he has competed, third best among this year’s contestants. He is fourth best at winning first or second in the gorounds and has seven go-round wins, four of which came in 2013 when he won over $106,000. His position in qualifying for his sixth WNFR is relative to the number of rodeos he went to compared to the rest of the field. The champion at Fort Worth, TX and reserve at both Cheyenne, WY and Salt Lake City, UT record 88.5-point rides at Hermiston, OR and the WCC at Grand Island, NE.

Hometown: Milford, UT Key Win: Fort Worth, TX WNFR Qualifications: 6

Clay Elliott

Clay Elliott’s first trip to the WNFR didn’t start very well as he bucked off two of his first four horse. He did finish strong, placing on three of the last five and was only five points out of placing in the average. This year has been somewhat of a reflection of that as he won nearly 70% of his money over the last five months of the season. He went to the third fewest rodeos as he also is third in the Canadian Pro Rodeo standings. It does appear that he has ridden the stronger horses better this year having recorded 16 rides over 85 points and two 90 point rides including the highest mark of the year, 92 at Pollockville, AB.

Hometown: Nanton, AB Key Win: San Juan Capistrano, CA WNFR Qualifications: 2

Heith DeMoss

In qualifying for his ninth WNFR, Heith DeMoss went to the fourth fewest rodeos, however recorded the second highest percentage of scores over 80 points. He also had one of the highest percentage of wins during the season, 18 times he was either first or second in go-rounds, finals, or one head competitions. And did it throughout the year; he started with an 85.5-point ride at Hempstead, TX and closed with 88 points at Stephenville, TX and 83.5 at the WCC in Sioux Falls, SD. He recorded his highest score of 88.5 at the Gold Tour Rodeo in Spanish Fork, UT.

Hometown: Heflin, LA Key Win: Reno, NV WNFR Qualifications: 9

Taos Muncy

In qualifying for his ninth WNFR, two-time world champion Taos Muncy placed at the fourth highest number of one go-round rodeos. Other than his largest win of the year at Ponoka, AB, the majority of his largest rodeos were from 85+ point rides for wins at such places as the Gold Tour in Clovis, CA, Corpus Christi, TX, and the Silver Tour Rodeo in Sheridan, WY. Twice he has been the WNFR reserve champion and has placed 53% of the time he has competed. He is tied for second among current contestants having placed in 35 go-rounds, winning nine.

Hometown: Corona, NM Key Win: Clovis, CA WNFR Qualifications: 9

Jesse Wright

After winning the WNFR and $161,000 in 2011, Jesse Wright returned in 2012 to claim the world title. Among the current contestants he is ranked first, placing 58% of the time he has competed, winning $516,152 while averaging $86,025. He has won nine go-rounds and 28% of the time has been either first or second in the go-round. In 2017, a majority of his winnings were courtesy of Ram, winning the Ram Wilderness Circuit Finals and finishing as reserve champion at the Ram National Circuit Finals.

Hometown: Milford, UT Key Win: Cody, WY WNFR Qualifications: 7

Audy Reed

Just four years removed from winning the National High School championship Audy Reed moved up nine places this year to qualify for his first WNFR. He did it as one of only six men that qualified on more than 90% of the horses he competed on. He won the first rodeo of the new year at Rosenberg, TX, then earned reserve championship honors at the All American Tour Finals and the Ram Texas Circuit Finals. He followed that up by winning Denver having a pair of 86 point rides. Those were three of his largest wins of the season, his fourth came in Albuquerque, NM where he was 85 points for the win.

TIE-DOWN ROPING Tuf Cooper

1 2 3 4 5 6 7

$$$ = Projected Top 5 Money Winner

$

The holder of the new record for money won during the regular season looks to be dialed in for his fourth world championship. The majority of his earnings were won in the last five months of the season when he won the second most of any contestant and he won the most of any tie-down roper in September. In Las Vegas he has the highest ranking of current contestants placing 63% of the time he competes. He has the third highest earnings of $611,937.

Hometown: Weatherford, Texas Key Win: Salt Lake City, UT WNFR Qualifications: 9

Caleb Smidt

2015 WNFR and world champion Caleb Smidt has earned over $252,00 in Las Vegas over the last two years and the highest average of current contestants of $95,489 per year in his three previous appearances. He has placed 53% of the time he’s nodded for one. During the 2017 season he entered the fewest rodeos but tied the third most calves under 8.5 seconds and placed at the highest percentage. He was also second best on the year placing in 13 averages. He won the third most money over the last five months of the season.

Hometown: Bellville, Texas Key Win: AA-Waco, TX WNFR Qualifications: 4

Shane Hanchey

$$

In 2013 Shane Hanchey completed ten runs at the WNFR in a record 80.1 seconds setting a new WNFR record earning $134,766, and with it, winning the world championship. In six trips to Las Vegas he has placed in 29 go-rounds and among the current contestants ranks third having won first or second in 14. During the 2017 season he was first winning nine one head rodeos, 25 times he was either first or second for all go-rounds. He completed the most runs of the years under 8.5 seconds with 31.

Hometown: Sulphur, Louisiana Key Win: Pendleton, OR WNFR Qualifications: 8

Marcos Costa

Although he had a great 2017 WNFR, Marcos Costa saw the world championship slip away by less than a sixth place finish in a go-round or eighth in the average. As world champion team roper Tee Woolman said “you have to learn to lose before you can learn to win.” That being said, this may be his year. Much of 2017 has been his year, he placed in more go-rounds than anyone else, 63 and among the contestants ranked 3rd placing at 49 rodeos producing 28 runs under 8.5 seconds and 21 times finishing first or second in all go-rounds.

Hometown: Childress, Texas Key Win: Denver, CO WNFR Qualifications: 3

Tyson Durfey Somewhat ironic that the man that got by Marcos Costa in 2016 is just behind him in 2017, however he’s going in nine spots higher than he did a year ago when he won $147,192 in Las Vegas to earn the world championship. That brought his WNFR total to $546,816. This year he has been much more productive, producing a leading 12 times he finished first or second in multiple go-round rodeos while recording the second highest number of cattle tied in under 8.5 seconds. He closed out the year winning the third largest amount over the last two months - almost 40% of his season total.

Hometown: Weatherford, Texas Key Win: Ponoka, AB WNFR Qualifications: 10

Trevor Brazile

PRCA’s all-time money winner could very well go $1,000,000 in tie-down roping earnings in Las Vegas alone at the 2017 WNFR; he is less than $60,000 away. He has the highest earnings over his last three years. Trevor has already won 18 go-rounds and finished second in 12. He has also placed in the average 12 times, including winning the title in 2010 when he won his third tie-down world title. He currently holds the longest current streak of qualifying on 32 in a row. He went to the second fewest rodeos on the year yet tied for first winning nine one headers and had the fourth largest earnings in the final two months.

Hometown: Decatur, Texas Key Win: Salt Lake City, UT WNFR Qualifications: 17

Marty Yates

$$$

Marty Yates won the very first go-round with 7.4 seconds, and although among the finalists he has the second highest earnings average of $88,482, many feel that he has not had the type of finals he is capable of. He also leads at placing on 67% of the cattle that he’s qualified on and finishing first or second on 33% that he has competed on as well as 48% that he qualified on. He had the second highest earnings a year ago of $130,365 without placing in the average. During the season he placed in the average at 40% of the rodeos he placed at.

He is also fourth best placing in 35 go-rounds and fourth at placing over 50% of the time he competes he places. He certainly finished out the season strong by making the largest move of anyone over the last two months, jumping 17 spots in the Weather Guard World Standings by winning an event best $51,434 which was also among the best for all events. Also in his career at the WNFR he is among the leaders of positive world position changes, finishing in a higher position than he started.

Hometown: Comanche, Oklahoma Key Win: Reno, NV WNFR Qualifications: 10

Matt Shiozawa

Matt Shiozawa has the second best WNFR earnings average over the last three years at $98,145 and second highest total of $643,614. He ranks second best in winning 13 go-rounds and first or second 21% of the time he runs one. He is also fourth best at placing in the go-round 55% of the time he competes. During the season, six of his nine wins were at one go-round rodeos which was the third highest total of the year and in the month of September he won the third highest total of more than 25 % of his season total.

Hometown: Chubbuck, Idaho Key Win: Ram NCF-Kissimmee, FL WNFR Qualifications: 10

J.C. Malone

The Tee Woolman phrase used for Marcos Costa at the WNFR could be said for J.C. Malone during the regular season. After finishing 18th in 2015, he was 15th going into the final week a year ago, only to be moved out at the final rodeo. He tried to leave nothing to chance this year, having his six biggest rodeos at some of the toughest winter rodeos, Austin, Tucson, Fort Worth, RNCFR, Denver and San Antonio. Then his next largest rodeo was going 7.8 seconds to win the Wrangler Champions Challenge in Spanish Fork, UT.

Hometown: Plain City, Utah Key Win: Austin, TX WNFR Qualifications: 1

Timber Moore

How many times at the WNFR have we watched things do a virtual 180 for contestants over the years? In qualifying for his sixth WNFR, Timber Moore is hoping that is the case. Timber, who has twice placed in the average at the WNFR has nothing to prove to anyone. He was among the upper 40% for 2017 in runs made under 8.5 seconds, rodeos placed at and go-rounds placed in. In fact, he shared the top spot of finishing first or second at multiple go round rodeos. And hoping it will be an indication for Las Vegas, he shared the top spot of upward moves in the standings over the final month of the season.

Hometown: Aubrey, Texas Key Win: Dodge City, KS WNFR Qualifications: 6

Randall Carlisle

Following his first WNFR qualification in 2013, Randall Carlisle seemed to slip back down the standings toward the end of the year finishing 19th in 2014 and just inside the top 30 the past two years. This year with the most go-round and average wins among the contestants at the All American and Ram Circuit Finals events and a top six spot for finishing 1st or second at all one head competitions, he makes his second WNFR qualification. His biggest wins were at the Ram National Circuit Finals and the Ram Southeast Circuit Finals. He also threw in a 7.7 second run at Denver to get a good early start on that qualification.

Hometown: Athens, Louisiana Key Win: Ram SECF-Davie, FL WNFR Qualifications: 2

Cade Swor

In qualifying for his seventh WNFR, Cade Swor had the highest percentage of winning runs under 8.5 seconds, 58%. His final money of the year was a 7.9 second run at the Wrangler Champions Challenge in Sioux Falls, SD. That run and being a mere 151 seconds on two runs at Albuquerque, NM helped him move four spots over the last two months of the season that tied for the second largest move. He also shared a top six spot for winning first or second at one goround rodeos. Among the contestants, he is third best at the WNFR with eight go-round wins.

Hometown: Winnie, Texas Key Win: Greeley, CO WNFR Qualifications: 7

Cooper Martin

Another one of the young guns that won’t be legally old enough to attend the buckle ceremony at the South Point jumped from 33rd a year ago to his first WNFR qualification. And in doing so, Cooper Martin had his three biggest wins during the toughest part of year at some of the hardest rodeos to win at. The reserve championship at Salinas and Reno, then a 7.8 second go-round win on his way to the title at the Gold Tour Rodeo in Spanish Fork, UT. He shared the second high spot of winning first or second at WCC’s and Gold and Silver Tour events and was first on the year jumping approximately 46 spots in the last five months.

Hometown: Alma, Kansas Key Win: Salinas,CA WNFR Qualifications: 1

Cory Solomon

Cory Solomon was cool under pressure winning nearly 25% of his season total during the month of September to also share the top spot of moving four positions in the last month. Starting with a go-round winning run of 7.8 seconds at the big arena in Walla Walla, WA, which lengthened their score this year, he placed at 11 rodeos. He also had three of his wins during that time frame, Merritt, BC, Spokane, WA, and Salt Lake City, UT. At the WNFR four times he’s won either first or second in a round and has been the reserve champion.

BARREL RACING Tiany Schuster

1 2 3 4 5 6

$$$ = Projected Top 5 Money Winner

$$$

Never has someone won so much money in such a short amount of time. That fairly well sums up the season that Tiany Schuster enjoyed in 2017. It almost GOES without saying that she placed at the most rodeos. She had the top rank of 20 times finishing first or second in all gorounds and one head rodeos and placed the most times in the averages. Even with her qualification in hand by the first of May she won the second most money over the last five months and sharing the third high ark of runs under 15 seconds.

Hometown: Krum, Texas Key Win: Calgary, AB WNFR Qualifications: 1

Stevi Hillman

$$

In qualifying for her second WNFR, Stevi Hillman tallied the third largest annual earnings in the WPRA. She lead with the most average wins as well as the most total average and one head rodeos combined. Placing at the second most events she won the most money in the final five months that was the fourth highest in all of rodeo. Last year at the WNFR, she placed in five go-rounds but hit barrels in two performances including the tenth round when she got two that cost her winning as high as third in the average.

Hometown: Weatherford, Texas Key Win: Cheyenne, WY WNFR Qualifications: 2

Nellie Miller

Riding the AQHA horse of the year Reba (Sister) Nellie Miller went to the third fewest events and finished in the second highest position of placing at 64% of the rodeos she entered. She was first at five times, winning first or second at all Wrangler Champions Challenges and Gold and Silver Tour Rodeos. From outside to inside it didn’t matter; she placed in the finals at Calgary, Houston and the Ram National Circuit Finals Rodeo. Las Vegas won’t be anything new to her as she qualified in 2010 then took time off to start a family.

Hometown: Cottonwood, California Key Win: Reno, NV WNFR Qualifications: 2

Amberleigh Moore

$

In 2016 Amberleigh Moore won three go-rounds at the WNFR including tying the arena record in the eighth go-round. That was the night after she knocked a barrel over to be a new arena record. She set a new money winnings record of $187,692 and that one barrel down cost her winning the average instead of second. This year she went to the fourth fewest rodeos, about 55% of most contestants, yet tied for the most times to run under 15 seconds, one of them winning the finals at San Antonio.

Hometown: Salem, Oregon Key Win: San Antonio, TX WNFR Qualifications: 2

Kassie Mowry Since first qualifying for the WNFR in 2005, Kassie Mowry has concentrated on the futurities and bringing along the young horses. In fact, at San Angelo, TX, where they have one go-round prior to the rodeo and bring back just enough to fill the performances, she qualified on a four-year-old futurity horse placing in the go-round and went to win it for her third largest win of the year. She went to the fewest rodeos, only about one third of most, and 37% of her winning runs were under 15 seconds.

Hometown: Dublin, Texas Key Win: Houston, TX WNFR Qualifications: 2

Dr. Kathy Grimes Riding two horses that she raised, Dr. Kathy Grimes, who specializes in embryo transplants went to the second fewest rodeos. She was third best on the year placing at 62% of them and shared the top spot with the most runs under 15 seconds that were 38% of her total winnings. She also tied for second best at winning first or second in finals competition.

Hometown: Medical Lake, Washington Key Win: San Antonio, TX WNFR Qualifications: 1

Hailey Kinsel

7

Hailey Kinsel is already the winner of a national championship, the College National Finals Rodeo, while representing Texas A & M University. Consequently, she didn’t get to rodeo much professionally early on. She did share the reserve championship at Denver and placed at Fort Worth then got her first win in a go-round and was the reserve champion at Guymon, OK in early May. That was the start to the second largest jump in the standings, jumping approximately 27 spots over the last five months with the fourth highest earnings. Many rodeo fans may remember her from winning a share of the one-million dollar payout at The American.

Taci Bettis

8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15

Taci Bettis is a true rookie that will win the Resistol Rookie of the Year award. She only had about $1,000 won before going to Corpus Christi, TX the end of April and won a go-round and the average for her fifth largest win of the year. From there she advanced approximately 42 spots over the last five months while winning the third most money during that time. She won a goround and placed in the average at Reno, NV, Cheyenne, WY, and Caldwell, ID.

Hometown: Round Top, Texas Key Win: Casper, WY WNFR Qualifications: 1

Lisa Lockhart

Riding one of the most familiar horses in barrel racing over the past few years, Louie, the twotime WNFR champion Lisa Lockhart made a huge charge over the last five months of the season placing at nearly 65% of the rodeos she entered. She also tied for second advancing approximately 27 spots over those last five months. She also tied for second at nine times winning a one head rodeo. Over the last three years in Las Vegas, Lisa Lockhart has average earnings of $139,722 as she is less than $50,000- from crossing the one-million dollar mark in earnings in Las Vegas.

Hometown: Oelrichs, South Dakota Key Win: Calgary, AB WNFR Qualifications: 11

Brittany Pozzi Tonozzi

After a four-year absence from the WNFR Brittany Pozzi Tonozzi qualified for her eleventh WNFR with a chance to go over two million dollars in career earnings. She has already won $673,362 in Las Vegas helping her to garner two WNFR titles and world championships. She was third on the year in rodeos to place at, 48 with more than 40% of them coming during the last two months as she won the third most money. Although it has been four years since Brittany has competed in Las Vegas, she will have some recent experience as last year Jana Bean rode her horse Steeley.

Hometown: Victoria, Texas Key Win: Cheyenne, WY WNFR Qualifications: 11

Sydni Blanchard

Sydni Blanchard will be making her third WNFR appearance, having been there in 2010 and 2013 and placing in seven go-rounds. She ranked fourth during the season winning eight one go-round rodeos and placed in the second most averages. Her third and fourth largest rodeos of the year were at Kennewick, WA the end of August and the Pendleton Round-Up the middle of September helping her to make the largest move over the last two months of the season and win the most money of any barrel racer nearly 45% of her season total.

Hometown: Albuquerque, New Mexico Key Win: Greeley, CO WNFR Qualifications: 3

Tilar Murray Tillar Murray advanced ten spots from a year ago in qualifying for her first WNFR. She finished first or second at seven one go-round rodeos without having the luxury of getting anything form some of the richest venues. Her second largest rodeo was finishing as reserve champion at Nampa, ID followed by winning the title at Wainwright, AB.

Hometown: Fort Worth, Texas Key Win: Austin, TX WNFR Qualifications: 1

Kellie Collier Kellie Collier also had a ten position advancement from a year ago as she qualified for her first WNFR. Eight times she was first or second in all go-rounds and finals and won five events with 22% of her winning runs clocking in under 15 seconds. Her biggest rodeo of year was Denver, CO winning a go-round, the finals and the average by nearly half a second.

Hometown: Hereford, Texas Key Win: Denver, CO WNFR Qualifications: 1

Ivy Conrado

Ivy Conrado, who rode the 2016 AQHA Horse of the Year to a WNFR qualification and finished fifth in the world, makes her second WNFR, but this time having to claw herself into the top 15 during the last two months of the season. She was second best during August and September jumping four spots with the fifth highest earnings over that time frame. Half of the rodeos she placed at during the year came during those last two months with 10% the last week as she placed from California to Texas.

Hometown: Hudson, Colorado Key Win: San Antonio,TX WNFR Qualifications: 2

Kimmie Wall

In making her second consecutive WNFR, Kimmie Wall was under as much pressure as Ivy Conrado was. She started the last month of the season 16th and fell to 17th with a tough decision to make. Her horse Foxy wasn’t performing up to par so she decided to take the first week of September off and rest her horse before the Pendleton Round-Up, a rodeo she finished as the reserve champion in 2016. It turned out to be a wise choice as she won the long go and finals for her second largest win of the year. She ended the month placing at Kansas City and the WCC in Sioux Falls, SD to guarantee her second trip to Las Vegas.

BULL RIDING

Sage Kimzey

1 2 3 4 5 6 7

$$$ = Projected Top 5 Money Winner

$$

There is no denying that Sage Kimzey has been the dominant bull rider over the last three years in ProRodeo. During the 2017 season he recorded the most rides over 80 points and won the most money in professional rodeo over the last five months of the year. At the WNFR he has qualified on 70% of his rides placing 20 times having the best earnings average of $152,501. He has been either first or second in the go-round 11 times and placed in the gorounds and average 77% of the time he nods his head. But it should be an interesting race to see if he can win his fourth straight world title.

Hometown: Strong City, Oklahoma Key Win: Salt Lake City, UT WNFR Qualifications: 4

Garrett Smith

$$$

Garrett Smith did lead the Weather Guard World Standings for a good portion of the year. Part of the reason, the second best riding percentage, winning the most one go-round rodeos and combination of one headers and averages and having 82% of his winning rides be over 80 points, the second best ratio in rodeo. Last year at his first WNFR he rode four bulls to win $77,269. The difference is less than what he gave up to Kimzey at Salt Lake City, count on a good race.

Hometown: Rexburg, Idaho Key Win: JBP-Puyallup, WA WNFR Qualifications: 2

Ty Wallace

Ty Wallace just missed qualifying for the 2016 WNFR after winning $107,589 the two years prior. He’s making his third appearance thanks in part to sharing the most times to win first or second in all finals and Gold and Silver Tour rodeo and sharing the fifth most times to win first or second at all regular season one headers. Also take into consideration that he went to the second fewest rodeos with many contestants getting on from 30 to 60% more bulls than he did; he still managed to place first or second 21 times in all go-rounds, the third highest total. Three times he scored 90 points.

Hometown: Collbran, Colorado Key Win: San Antonio, TX X WNFR Qualifications: 3

Jordan Spears

$

Jordan Spears shared the biggest jump over the last two months of the season and solely owned the largest jump during September winning $47,396 in September, more than anyone in any event, for a total of half his total winnings over the last two months. His biggest win was the Xtreme Bull Riding Finals in Ellensburg, WA when he scored 87 and 88.5 points to be the only man to ride two bulls. He also had a fourth best finish of nine times winning a one go-round rodeo. He had one of the top five riding percentages.

Joe Frost

Hometown: Redding, California Key Win: Ellensburg, WA X F WNFR Qualifications: 3

In qualifying for his fourth consecutive WNFR, Joe Frost went to less rodeos than anyone, 7080% of most contestants. The big difference is that Joe Frost had the best riding percentage at nearly 66% and was first at placing at 45.9% of the rodeos he went to. During his previous three years at the WNFR, Joe has the second-best record of current contestants riding 53% of his draws with a second place ranking of placing on 43% of what he’s drawn. And, counting the average, has placed 53% of the time for average earnings of $96,446 per year.

Hometown: Randlett, Utah Key Win: San Antonio, TX WNFR Qualifications: 4

Trey Benton III After missing the last two years, Trey Benton has qualified for his fourth WNFR. During the season he won more averages than any other and shared the third best ranking in winning first in all averages and one go-round rodeos. He wound up third best with 80% of his winning rides over 80 points. He shared the top spot of moving five places in the standings during the last two months of the season. In his previous WNFR appearances he had the third best mark of placing on 35% of the bulls he attempted.

Hometown: Rock Island, Texas Key Win: Reno, NV X WNFR Qualifications: 4

Tim Bingham Tim Bingham racked up several rides over 80 points this year, in fact sharing the fourth best percentage of 78% of his winning rides. Among them 89.5 to win the finals of the Reno Xtreme and 89 to win Jackson, MS., one of the ten-regular season one headers he dominated. He also shared the best rate of winning first or second at all one go-round rodeos. He tied for the third high marked ride of the season when he was 91.5 points at Tremonton, UT.

8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15

After finishing the 2016 season 25th in the world, Cole Melancon has qualified for his first WNFR. Cole tied for the fourth best total of bulls ridden for more than 80 points. He jokingly says it’s because he rides a little wild and not the prettiest, but it makes the bull look a lot ranker. The first one of those came at the All-American Finals at 86.5 points to win the semifinals. He managed a 90 point ride to win the finals at Denver.

Hometown: Liberty, Texas Key Win: Denver, CO WNFR Qualifications: 1

Roscoe Jarboe

At his first WNFR last year Roscoe Jarboe started out on fire, acting like it was old home week. He shared third in the first go-round at 83.5 points and won the second go-round with 88.5 points. However, Las Vegas can be so fickle when it comes to the WNFR and he never placed again. In qualifying this year, he went to the fourth fewest events yet managed a qualified ride total that rivaled several with more attempts. He also recorded two in the 90’s, to win San Antonio for his biggest win of the year and followed that up at the Xtreme Bull Riding at Fort Mohave, AZ with a 90.5 effort.

Hometown: New Plymouth, Idaho Key Win: San Antonio, TX WNFR Qualifications: 2

Trevor Reiste

Trevor Reiste also enjoyed his biggest win of the year in San Antonio, TX, except in the Xtreme Bull Riding marking 88.5 points. In qualifying for his first WNFR, after finishing 22nd a year ago, he shared the fourth best ranking of 36 rides over 80 points and third best finish of placing eight times in the average. He got his year started with an 86 point ride at the Ram Great Lakes Circuit Finals and closed it out with 84.5 points at the Justin Boots Playoffs in Puyallup, WA.

Hometown: Linden, Iowa Key Win: San Antonio, TX X WNFR Qualifications: 1

Dustin Bowen As mentioned earlier, it is amazing how things can change in Las Vegas from one year to the next. One would imagine Dustin Bowen is looking forward to that change at his second WNFR. Two years ago he couldn’t get anything to go his way. After finishing outside the top15 last year, he is heading back and with a resume that is better than two years ago after starting the year in Denver with a pair of 80+ rides. He was the event champion and followed that up with a pair of 85+ rides in Fort Worth, TX and finished the year out with the second biggest jump in the standings during September.

Hometown: Waller, Texas Key Win: Fort Worth, TX WNFR Qualifications: 2

Brennon Eldred

The 2016 reserve world champion Brennon Eldred has the fourth best earnings ratio at the WNFR over the last three years. He has won the third highest number of go-rounds along with the third best ratio of placing in both the go-rounds and average. Last year he placed in six go-rounds, winning three and was second in the average to win $184,096. In qualifying for his fourth WNFR, he went to the second fewest rodeos but had 97% of his rides go for over 80 points. Three of them coming in Reno, NV where he left town with over $21,000 for sharing the reserve championship at the Xtreme Bulls event then was co-champion of the rodeo.

Hometown: Sulphur, Oklahoma Key Win: Reno, NV WNFR Qualifications: 4

Jordan Hansen

Jordan Hansen made the largest move of any bull rider during the last five months of the season, moving approximately 19 spots. He had the fourth largest jump during the last two months of the season when he had the fifth highest earnings. He had the third best riding percentage, of bulls in the United States, at 59% and was fourth best placing in seven averages. One of those being in Airdrie, AB at his second biggest rodeo of the year when he was the only man to ride two bulls. He also shared the highest marked ride of the year when he scored 92 points at Kalispell, MT.

Hometown: Okotoks, Alberta Key Win: Airdrie, AB WNFR Qualifications: 1

Boudreaux Campbell Although he just recently turned 19 years old and will be the Resistol Rookie of the Year, something about Boudreaux Campbell just smells like success. He has try, getting to the most rodeos during the year, he was third overall placing in 45 go-rounds and also had the fourth highest ranking of winning first or second at one go-round rodeos. To qualify for his first WNFR, he had to jump five spots over the last two months, that shared the largest move any bull rider made when he had the sixth highest total earnings during that time.

Hometown: Crockett, Texas Key Win: Casper, WY WNFR Qualifications: 1

Guthrie Murray Guthrie Murray finished the 2016 ProRodeo season in 68th place, making one of the biggest comebacks from one year to the next in our sport. He also did it with a lot of try and determination getting to the second highest number of rodeos. He got his year started with an 85.5 ride at Bonifay, FL for the win then was 86 points to win a go-round at the Ram Prairie Circuit Finals followed by his biggest win of the year at San Antonio, TX with 88 points. In April it was back to back 89 point rides at Logandale, NV and Longview, TX. Overall 58% of his rides were over 80 points.

Hometown: Miami, Oklahoma Key Win: Sheridan, WY WNFR Qualifications: 1
