Philadelphia Naval Business Center

Telecommunication System Assessment Study & Master Plan Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

PNBC continues to be developed into a modern business campus with facilities for shipbuilding, industrial manufacturing, warehouse/ distribution, intermodal yard, and office tenant spaces. With 2,000 acres, the client required data and telecommunications infrastructure to replaced aging copper pairs buried in marine environment manholes pressured with nitrogen and built in 1942.

Professional Systems Engineering, LLC developed a Master Plan for a campus-wide Tele/Data Communications Service Distribution System at Philadelphia Naval Business Center (PNBC), site of the former Philadelphia Naval Ship Yard. The purpose of the Master Plan was to provide guidelines for continued improvements and reconstruction of the campus-wide Tele/Data Communications Service Distribution system. National Museum of American Jewish History

Technology Integration Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

The National Museum of American Jewish History is located on historic Independence Mall. The new building represents a history of the Jewish people, from those who gave the early colonialists financing to continue the Revolutionary War, such as Robert Morris, to today’s successful Jewry in America. Its five story 100,000 SF design will be as remarkable as the data/ voice/video capabilities of the site to manage both historic content and museum transactions.

The National Museum of American Jewish History is located in Philadelphia’s Historic District on Independence Mall. Seeking expertise in integration of data, voice, and video in a secure expansive environment, Professional Systems Engineering (PSE) was selected to design all networks and remote services for wired and wireless networks, conferencing capabilities, exhibit data support for both high speed and wireless networks, and tele/data/video services. PSE was chosen to design and deploy technology for this special mission to herald the assimilation of Jewry into the United States. PSE’s first task was to provide an assessment of existing networks, connectivity issues, information technologies transition to the new site, and recommend unified digital electronic communication platforms. This implementation of an “All Digital” site includes data/voice/video and conferencing using the latest secure appliance and network infrastructure that can handle both gift shop transactions and prevent denial-of-service attacks, as well as intrusion detection to any of the data equipment. 19th Judicial District Courthouse

Courthouse Information Technology & Secure Communications Parish of East Baton Rouge, Louisiana

The new state-ofthe-art 12-story, 360,000 SF courthouse will have the latest in networking and high-tech audio-video systems inside courtrooms, including a transcription recording system and touch screens used to control audio and video. Cyber security designs involved intrusion protection firewall and virtual access hardening of the 10 gigabit capacity network infrastructure.

Professional System Engineering, LLC developed and prepared the RFPs and equipment purchase lists required to purchase the courts Information Technology and Communications FF&E Technology package. This included the courts telephone system, data network, computers, servers, and distributed antenna system. PSE found, while reviewing the 19th JDC’s legacy systems, the courts relied on multiple single core servers. PSE presented a technology plan that employed a virtual server cluster to greatly reduce data center’s space, power, and cooling requirements. PSE filled a unique role acting as technical liaison for the Administrative office of the Courts. PSE demonstrated a unique ability to translate the highly technical into easy to manage concepts. This helped the AOC and project architect to stay on top of the project and make informed decisions throughout the project. Amtrak

Enterprise Safety Assessment/Emergency 9-1-1 Dispatch Nationwide

PSE was chosen by Amtrak to replace its Emergency 9-1-1 Dispatch Center with a modern system that will cover no less than 15 cities and nearly 150 operators. PSE’s designs allow for adaptation with evolving technology to serve current and future needs.

Professional Systems Engineering, LLC (PSE) provided consultant services including debriefing, interviews, historical analysis, technology requirements, specification preparation, RFP production, and bid analysis to replace Amtrak’s CHIEFS system public safety software. Amtrak’s existing system was nearly ten years old and no longer met Amtrak Police Department’s business needs. It did not keep pace with upto-date technological demands and proved labor-intensive to maintain. The existing central monitoring center is a national call center providing coverage for emergency, enforcement, disaster management, hazardous spill/contamination response and rail operations management with far-reaching, and sometimes overlapping jurisdictionalbased, automated response call-up. The new system includes the following components and capabilities: ❖❖Computer-aided dispatch/geobase sensitive programming ❖❖Records management system ❖❖Internal affairs module for secure review ❖❖Employee communications ❖❖Personnel management module ❖❖GIS mapping with national coverage and integrated/imported response jurisdiction mapping ❖❖Custom reporting relating to train-specific information The new system will allow for effective real time dissemination of information regarding departmental productivity and crime trend analysis, which facilitates effective deployment of resources in conjunction with daily operational requirements as well as emergency deployments. This project demonstrates PSE’s ability to “prime” a sophisticated, nationally advertised consulting award and bring stakeholders technology support into a modern data and systems managed universe that will be deployed in at least 15 cities and covering almost 150 operators.
