Adventure Outpost Summer 2016

Page 1

In late May, top brands from the outdoor industry got together for the second annual Adventure Outpost, an opportunity for like-minded brands to network, test out product, and create content alongside outdoor influencers. For three days, the crew ventured 50 miles down the Owyhee River through rain, wind, and sleet but most importantly had a hell of a time.

Proof was founded in 2010 by 3 brothers in Idaho, but its roots can be traced back to 1954 when their grandfather started a sawmill. The brothers grew up with sawdust in their veins working in the family mill and exploring the Idaho outdoors. The start- up provides products handcrafted from sustainable materials including FSC-certified wood, cotton-based acetate, repurposed skateboard decks, and recycled aluminum. Proof stands firm on three principles: heritage, sustainability, and giving back. The bird logo represents the ‘Do Good’ mentality that, “Everyone has wings to fly, some just need a little help.”

We’ll keep water icy cold on a hot sunny beach. And serve up a hot coffee on the chairlift ride. We’ll sit patiently by your camp chair with frosty cold beer while you gather wood for the fire. Or keep you hydrated on a hike: ice, water, go. And five hours later, after driving to the trailhead and climbing 2,000 feet, you’ll still have ice and water while you enjoy the view. We’ll bring you hot tea on misty riverside mornings when the steelhead are running, hot cocoa to coax your kids along a snowy trail, and a refreshing sip of “all-about-you” during Saturday afternoon yoga. We’re not just along for the ride. We’re along to help make the ride awesome.

Tenkara Rod Co. is based out of Driggs, ID and believes that fishing should be simple, and it should be for everyone. You don’t have to be an avid and obsessed fisherman to get into Tenkara. It is simple so that you can take it with you hiking, mountain biking, surfing, camping, etc. All you need is a rod, a line, and a fly; now go get some fish!

Teva was born in the Grand Canyon back in 1984, when a river guide rigged two Velcro watchbands to an old pair of flip flops and created a shoe that wouldn’t float away. Three decades later, we’ve grown up into an icon of comfort and utilitarian style. How you choose to live is the ultimate form of personal expression, and around here, we want to seize every second—to live light and loud. If you’re up for anything and love the thrill of spontaneity, then we are your people. This adventurous spirit—the one that pioneered the very first pair of Teva sandals—takes form in everything we create.

From our corporate lives to our camping adventures, we were always looking for portable, healthy, great tasting foods. We wanted real food that was minimally processed, without the sugars and fillers you find in most bars and snacks. Inspired by nature, we sourced all kinds of superfoods from farms and mills, and set up a tent at our local farmers’ markets. As we’ve expanded, we maintain our hands-on approach to sourcing ingredients. Taste and quality are always our priority.
