Largest 25 Utah Apartment Management Companies in 2014 Named

ased on information* provided to the Utah Apartment Association, Utah’s largest 25 Apartment Management Companies collectively manage over 64,000 units in 431 communities. This is a brand new list, intended to be updated regularly and published at least once a year. Of the top five companies, all but one are Utah based. 1 – Apartment Management Consultants (AMC). Formed in 2000, Utah based AMC has grown in 14 years to the 11th largest apartment management company in the United States with a total of 68,000 units, including 18,500 in Utah. Lindsay Daniels and Jenny Romero oversees the Utah portfolio. 2 – Wasatch Premier Communities, founded by Logan resident and Utah investor Dell Loy Hansen, focuses on acquiring undervalued property, adding value to the real estate and providing service to all stakeholders. With 16,000 units nationally including 5,584 in Utah, Wasatch has recently been a major Utah Apartment developer of class A property. Wasatch added 13 new developments in Utah since 2009 which have been groundbreaking additions to Utah apartment stock. Janae Jarvis (a former President of the UAA) oversees the Utah portfolio. 3 - Alliance Residential, the 9th largest apartment management company in the US and third largest in Utah, is based out of Phoenix, AZ. UAA Picks up National Government Affairs Award

n June, UAA’s Vice Chair Cheri Goss and Executive Director Paul Smith accepted a prestigious award at the National Apartment Association Awards Breakfast at their annual conference in Denver. This awards honors the tremendous success the UAA continues to have advocating for our industry. “There is a reason Utah is one of the top places in the country to be a landlord”, says UAA Board Chairman Steve Randall. “That reason is the Utah Apartment Association”. NAA chose Utah for this award in part because of our successful passage in 2013 of a new abandoned

very fall the Utah Apartment Association puts on an Economic Conference, featuring information on the current condition and upcoming trends in the rental industry in Utah. Experts provide current data, projections and market trends to help attendees budget for the coming year and adjust to challenges and position themselves to take advantage of opportunities. This year will highlight the work of two economist, Lawrence Yun, Chief Economist and Senior Vice President of Research at the National Association of Realtors, and James

Wood, the Director of the University of Utah Bureau of Economic and Business research. Dr. Yun oversees the creation of the National Association of Realtor’s forecasts and participates in many economic forecasting panels, among them Blue Chip and the Harvard University Industrial Economist Council. He appears regularly on financial news outlets, is a frequent speaker at real estate conferences throughout the United States, and has testified before Congress. USA Today in 2008 listed him among the top 10 economic forecasters in

the country and he has been named among the Most Influential Real Estate Leaders by INMAN News over the past several years. Dr. Wood is a hometown favorite, and has published over 75 articles on topics related to Utah’s economy. He is an expert on the real estate and housing markets and provides substantial and relevant data about the economic conditions driving housing demand, renter statistics and trends, and the type and number of units available for our Economic Conferences. In addition to the useful information from these two world class economists, the conference will feature Legislative Reports on local and national issues.
