New York Palace revamps luxury suites Midtown Manhattan’s New York Palace has completed a $140 million makeover and redesign, with a $25 million overhaul of its luxurious hotelwithin-a-hotel, The Towers. The exclusive collection of 176 rooms and suites occupies the hotel’s top 14 floors with a dedicated Les Clefs d’Or concierge team. New York’s HOK design firm created two of the triplex
suites and the new Towers Metropolitan Suite, drawing inspiration from the historic Villard Mansion, which sits adjacent to the Palace on Madison Avenue. The three-foor Champagne Suite (above) boasts spectacular views over New York landmarks like the Empire State Building, as well as as fully-stocked wine cave full of vintage Dom Pérignon champagne.

Ritz-Carlton repackages Montreal flagship Commanding an entire block on Montreal’s main avenue, Sherbrooke Street, The Ritz-Carlton, Montreal stands proud as the brand’s first edition. The 102-year-old stalwart saw a bit of a facelift this summer, courtesy of Quebec’s own Provencher Roy. The architectural firm gifted the building a whole new façade “without altering its personality”, say designers. A glass and steel envelope was added to integrate a new residential wing into the existing building. The project also involved the renovation of 130 rooms and public areas, while 45 luxury condos were expanded.

Chinese investors are poised to plunge more than $1 billion into a new Caribbean mega-resort, due to be 50 percent larger than the upcoming Baha Mar resort in the Bahamas. The multi-hotel, residential and commercial project labeled ‘Singulari’, will span 1,600 acres across Antigua and Barbuda, AFP has reported. Around 700 acres of the project will be spread across many of the nation’s tiny islands and the 900-acre mainland, Crump Quay, will offer a fully serviced marina complex and access to the islands. The resort as a whole will comprise multiple luxury hotels, golf courses, private villas, marinas, an entertainment district, horse racing track and the Caribbean’s biggest gaming facility.
