April 2011 www.providencehigh.org
Information from Mr. LeBreton Attention Senior Parents: Please mark your calendars for the “Mandatory Senior Parent Meeting” on Wednesday, May 4 @ 7:00 P.M. We will review and answer questions about all the senior end-of-year events. You will also receive your 10 tickets to graduation at the meeting. Both parents are welcome, but at least one should attend. See you there.
From the Dean of Studies Friday, April 15th, was the end of the 5th Grading Period, which means we are in the final lap of classes before the end of the semester. Parents should have received the latest Grades by now, or you can see them online in the Aeries Gradebook. Anyone having difficulty accessing your student’s grades on Aeries is encouraged to contact our Tech Support at paent.help@providencehigh.org We are moving toward 2 weeks of Advanced Placement testing followed by the senior class Final Exams. Before we know it, the rest of the students will take their Final Exams and we will be preparing for Summer School. This is a reminder that Summer School begins here on campus June 27th. As was the case last summer, camps are also being offered, some of which begin as early as June 13th. Information is available on the PHS public website and in the front office. All students enrolled in 2011-2012 Honors, AP or advanced courses of Modern Language, Math, or Science will be assigned a “summer work packet” in order to be adequately prepared for those courses in the Fall. Beginning in June, teachers will be holding group orientation sessions during homeroom or after school to hand out this information to the students who requested these classes and who signed the Course Commitment Contract. Another way to complete the “summer work packet” is by enrolling in one of the related Enrichment courses offered at Providence during Summer School, including the Seminar for Advanced Placement US, Euro or World History. If you have questions or would like further clarification relating to anything academic, please contact claire.hickey@providencehigh.org.
