UP and coming snowsports athletes have the chance of gaining a $2000 scholarship announced by the Ski Club of Victoria (SCV) this month. The grant aims at assisting athletes with costs of developmental expenses along the pathway to elite performance. younger; resident in Victoria for at least six months each year for the past five years; participating and training in snowsports within Australia or overseas; and a member of the SCV or member of another ski club or snowsports organisation endorsed by the SCV board. The grants can be used to cover costs associated with competing in snowsports, including coaching, equipment, entry fees as well as
travel costs to events and competitions. Applicants are required to submit a personal response detailing why they deserve to receive sponsorship. Applications close on September 2 and successful applicants are to be advised by the end of September. Application forms and more detailed information can be found at www.skivictoria. com.au.
