Mazda CX-8 spreads its SUV wings with the Asaki THE new Mazda CX-8 is the vehicle for which the phrase ‘middle of the road’ (or dirt track) was coined. The sports utility vehicle slots in mid-range between the CX-5 and CX-9 with ease while offering diesel power to the mix. Now with eight variants, the entry-level CX-8 Sport petrol front-wheel drive comes in below 40-grand ( just) at $39,910, plus onroad costs, while the halo is carried by the Asaki diesel all-wheel drive at $65,440. The latter was the test car. The latest upgrade for 2020, the second since its entry to the market in 2018, the seven-seat SUV is offered with a new 2.5-litre Skyactiv-G petrol engine joining the front-wheel drive variants.

KIA Stinger has been refreshed and revised with new and enhanced safety and convenience features. The 10.25-inch touchscreen has inbuilt navigation and smartphone connectivity. The dash-mounted screen allows users to control and monitor a range of vehicle functions simultaneously. Stinger now features Bluetooth Multi-Connection allowing multiple smart phones to be paired at the same time for greater convenience and functionality, such as using one phone for communications and another for streaming music. For the 200S and 330S models the 3.5-inch monoTFT cluster will be replaced by an advanced 4.2-inch colour-TFT cluster with improved visual clarity and a wider range of information displayed.
New alloy wheel designs have thinner spokes on the 19-inch GT-Line and GT models. This makes the high performance Brembo brakes more visible. These are standard on the V6 range. Already featuring Autonomous Emergency Braking across the range, the improved AEB will now add Cyclist Detection and Junction Assist to its already existing car and pedestrian capabilities. Junction Assist uses the front camera and radar to apply the brakes if danger is detected while turning across oncoming traffic. Improved Lane Keeping Assistance featuring Road Edge Detection will look after careless drivers when the Stinger is detected wandering from its lane or towards the road edge.
