CONVEYOR EQUIPMENT Entry aid and push-on system

Wheel correlator

This entry aid in the chain conveyor system is a necessary accessory in overcoming difficult entry situations or in helping drivers unfamiliar with the facility. The roller guided floor plate easily guides the wheels into the conveyor lane.

Feed-in conveyor system, plastic For wash tunnels with customer corridor The vehicle is driven over the wheel correlator and stopped on the feed-in conveyor (wheel carrier is located on top in centre position as a brake barrier). Feed-in succeeds following program selection on the control console. The feed-in conveyor is initiated and the wheel carrier pushes the right front wheel forward until the left front wheel is in the main conveyor (double chain conveyor or plate conveyor). At this point, the vehicle is taken over and pulled by the main conveyor.

CONVEYOR EQUIPMENT Double chain conveyor Double chain conveyor Vehicles are conveyed through the vehicle wash unit by means of chain driven rollers moving at a constant speed. A frequency controlled gearless drive is construed according to the chain length and is used as the drive unit. This drive sits directly on the motor shaft.

An integrated overload protection device switches the drive off during an emergency. Therefore, a shearing pin is no longer necessary. The conveyor speed can be regulated and the respectively required capacity can be adjusted to.

Additional rim protection Rim damages in the conveyor device are minimized by use of protective caps.

The vehicles are conveyed through the wash stations by the wheel carriers integrated in the plastic plates. Plastic plates with increased material thickness are delivered for conveyor lengths starting at 36.325 mm.

The left wheels stand during the drag process on the band (no rolling movement). A frequency controlled gearless drive is used as a drive unit just as with the double chain conveyor. The conveyor speed can be adjusted to correspond to the required capacity.

Additional rim protection Employment of plastic plates prevents rims from being damaged in the conveyor device. The upturn beams are integrated in the band and move with the wheel and serve for wheel protection and stabile guidance.

Rim spray device free-standing. Rim cleaner is sprayed onto the rims in order to losen the dirt. The device is light barrier controlled. RIM REX. Acidic rim cleaner. Ideal for the rim spray device.


Chemcial spray device front/rear. This special device is irreplaceable in express wash tunnel concepts. The spray device consists of two spray pipes and is delivered with 2 dosing pumps (for various pre-cleaning chemicals). The first spray pipe sprays against the lower front area (insect area) and the second spray pipe against the lower rear area (around exhaust pipe grime).

Automatic pre-wash zone High-pressure pre-wash systems

JETSTREAM-EXPRESS An effective and powerful automatic high-pressure wash is strongly recommended for express wash concepts in order to prepare the vehicle for the subsequent brush wash.

JETSTREAM-EXPRESS powerfully sprays the vehicle with its 5 oscillating high-pressure jet devices (Point spray jet). A working pressure of up to 50 bar at approx. 140 ltr./min. can be achieved in combination with two piston membrane pumps suited for recycled water (up to 250 Οm particle size). The jet devices spray against the vehicle at the start of the program and pivot in towards the vehicle’s end in the rear area for a thorough rear wash. The side devices work in alternating operation according to vehicle area. Frame material: Duraprotect (see Page 43).


JETSTREAM SEMI-EXPRESS Ideal for wash tunnels with semi-express wash concepts. The arch relieves the pre wash personnel and thus reduces the workload. The vehicle is cleaned by 4 oscillating high-pressure jet units (working pressure approx. 50 bar at approx. 70 ltr./min.) These spray parallel to the vehicle and turn towards the rear of the vehicle once reaching the vehicle’s end. Frame material: Duraprotect.

JETSTREAM-MATRIX Combination The JETSTREAM-EXPRESS or the JETSTREAM SEMIEXPRESS can be mounted directly on the high-pressure wheel/sill washer MATRIX. This way, a compact highpressure pre-wash combination is created. We are flexible: Upon request, we can also combine piston membrane pumps with 80 bar and adjust the amount of high-pressure jet devices according to the specific project.

The spray pipe can be mounted to various Evolution Wash Portals (in the picture on the frame of the kinematic roof cylinder). Designed for supply by centrifugal pump up to 16 bar at 100 ltr./min.

The arch is designed for supply by a centrifugal pump up to 16 bar at 100 ltr./min. (upon request also combineable with piston membrane pumps).

Wheel / sill wash device TIREJET The TIREJET cleans the sill and wheel areas, with an electrically driven, 360째 rotating high-pressure jet device. It is ideally situated following a brush wheel wash unit in order to rinse off softened rim dirt. Working pressure: up to 50 bar at approx. 70 ltr./min. (supply via piston membrane pump capable of functioning with recycled water).

Wheel-/ Sill wash device HD-ROTATION, accompanying Effective high-pressure cleaning for sill and rim areas. HP-ROTATION is especially designed for installation and application following the wheel brush wash unit. Two oscillating high-pressure devices wash dirt off of each side (0° jets) of the vehicle in an accompanying movement (1.000 mm). A working pressure of up to 80 bar at approx. 70 ltr./min. can be achieved in combination with a piston membrane pump suited for use with recycled water ( up to 250Οm particle size).

Optional: Pivoting device Pivoting device for 3 adjusted angles: Slanted against vehicle front corners, then parallel to the vehicle, then slanted against vehicle rear corners.


Wheel / sill wash device HP-MATRIX, accompanying For high-pressure cleaning of sill and rim areas and especially wheel arches. This aggregate is the ideal complement for wash tunnels with an express wash concept. Large dirt particles are thoroughly removed and the vehicle is ideally prepared for the following wash stations. Two oscillating high-pressure devices wash dirt off of each side (0° jets) of the vehicle in an accompanying movement (1.000 mm).

The vehicle front and rear are washed by a pneumatic pivoting movement. A working pressure of approx. 50 bar at approx. 69 ltr./min can be achieved in combination with two recycled water suitable piston membrane pumps (up to 250 Âľm particle size).

Frame material: DURAPROTECT.

Wheel / sill wash device, longitudinal For intensive cleaning of the wheels and the lower vehicle side parties by horizontal wash cylinders on the left and right sides. Both horizontal wash cylinders pivot in the driving direction, mounted in a stand construction and adjust to the exact width of each vehicle.

The wheel wash principal remains the same: The wheel area is washed by the wheel turning while passing the wash cylinder (left wheels turn on double chain conveyor along the cylinder).

Wheel wash device, wheel following Both wheel wash brushes are synchronously and pneumatically guided on the wheel pair to be washed. Correct control of the applied brush pressure as well as correct inner irrigation of the brush guarantees a thorough rim wash. The wheel washer is activated via a light barrier system. Starting at this point it runs frequency controlled 1.000 mm with the wheels. Frame material: DURAPROTECT

Wheel wash device Stable linear guidance of the inner, irrigated wheel wash brushes. High cleaning performance through pulsating brush grip and rotation direction change. Wheel recognization via light barrier.


Automatic pre-wash zone Under-chassis wash systems

Medium-pressure spray device for front, under-body and rear, floor installation above-ground Designed for touchless cleaning of the lower front and rear surfaces with medium-pressure. The water jets overlap underneath the vehicle in the wash program “under-chassis wash�. This aggregate is capable of being retrofitted in wash tunnels with

existing foundations, due to its above-ground installation. With the respective supply device, the device can be operated with a working pressure of approx. 15 bar at approx. 100 ltr./min..


Main wash zone Contour cylinders (rocker)

Contour wash unit KONTEX-HYBRID, 2 Cylinders, WH 1.100mm A substantial component of the wash tunnel. This unit is used for washing the sill and fender surfaces as well as the lower side surfaces. The frame is made from stainless steel. Side wash height: 1.100 mm.

Contour wash unit MINI-KONTEX-HYBRID, 2 Cylinders, WH 500 mm Special aggregate for the sill area, the lower side surfaces and the rims. Slanted position can be adjusted. Frame made from stainless steel. Side wash height: 500 mm.

Contour wash unit VAN-KONTEX-HYBRID, 2 Cylinders, WH 1.900 mm Can be used for washing vehicle side surfaces as well as a side polishing aggregate in the polishing zone (profiled cylinder trimming). Frame made from stainless steel. Side wash height: 1.900 mm.

EVOLUTION in wash tunnel technology

True to the motto of Friedrich Schiller „Simplicity is the result of maturity“, the focus of the EVOLUTION lies on quality, operator friendliness, wash sequences with cleverness and avoidance of „over-engineering“. Wash tunnel projects with capacity potentials of up to 30 to 120 passenger vehicles/hour can be

conceived. Space-saving modules for short wash tunnels and even modules with perfect all-around washing and extended rear follow-in. Standard frame material: galvanized steel portal with duplex powder coating. Optional premium level: DURAPROTECT (page 43). Wash height 2.050 mm / wash width 2.400 mm. Upon request, special wash height of 2.400 mm possible for diverse EVO aggregates. Innovative: Upon request, diverse cylinder systems can be equipped with the Christ direct drive (see page 41).

Roof cylinder system KINEMATIC, free-standing „Kinematic“ is defined as being the science of the movement of bodies in a room. This also applies to our moving roof cylinder – it moves over the horizontal vehicle surfaces to be washed and even over the rear of the vehicle and washes with simplicity and perfection without requiring any lifting motor / cables or belts. A counterweight maintains the balance and a pneumatic cylinder is used for lifting the cylinder if required The cylinder drive is serially controlled via a frequency converter (FC). The amount of rotations required can be set for the selected wash material via the FC.

EVOLUTION All-around washer EVO-4 Wash portal Evolution EVO-4, 2 cylinders Completely automatic and pneumatic wash sequence. Precise and reliable „like a Swiss clock“. Two profiled side cylinders perform a centre crossover wash on the vehicle’s rear. The forward pushing movement of the vehicle opens the side cylinders on the vehicle’s front. The rear follow-up is completely automatic and is performed by the adjustable slanted position of the X-Rail travelling tracks. The travelling tracks are pneumatically pivotted during the side X-Rail travelling wash from the front wash position to the rear wash tracks: DURAPROTECT position. The air cylinder then brings them back to equipped as standard their starting position following the vehicle wash.

Direct drive for Evolution side cylinders and follow-up roof cylinder. Only Christ offers the direct drive for the Evolution side cylinders and the follow-up roof cylinder as an alternative option to the standard electro-drive motor. Electricity consumption – depending on the wash material used – is reduced by up to 30% with this revolutionary drive system. The rotation amount can be set according to the selected wash material, as each direct drive can be combined with a frequency converter (FC). Wash material with differing rotation amounts can be retrofitted without having to reconstruct drives.

Optional frame model DURAPROTECT All of our Evolution portal frams, mitters and blowing dryer frames can optionally be executed in DURAPROTECT instead of the standard frame material (steel). DURAPROTECT = frames made from stainless steel (1.4301) with additional duplex-powder coating. The required cleaning effort for the operator is reduced by approx. 50% in comparision to portals made from stainless steel because of the additional coating.

Care zone Clear rinse systems

Clear rinse arch, aluminum profile arch, non-illuminated All portals installed in front of the clear rinse arch are generally supplied with recylced water. In order to prevent recycled water getting mixed into the wax or drying aid application zone, all vehicles must be rinsed off preliminarily. This ensures that the drying aid or the wax optimally reacts and the drying results are good.

Clear rinse device, mounted on the front-side of the aluminum premium arch The clear rinse fan spray jets are installed on the front side of the extension and serve as a fresh water shower in front of the conservation arch. Vehicle passengers have full sight of the conservation arch, as there is no free-standing frame. The extensions can be shortened for short wash tunnels.

Conservation spray device, aluminum premium arch, LED lighting Attractive conservation arch made from powder coated aluminium, front-side with transluscent, labelled plastic plates. The background illumination in the arch is completely designed with LED technology. A rear mounted, corrosion resistant drying aid spray pipe (with own dosing pump) is standardly included. AIR-FIT Scent dispenser

Air dispenser AIR-FIT, mounted on the backside of the spray arch Pneumatic air dispenser for automatic fragrance diffusion in wash hall. Activated by the wash unit, with adjustable spraying duration and the spray duration is adjustable. The release button can also be used for manual spraying. The dispenser is mounted on the backside of the aluminum premium arch or on the DURAPROTECT arch (air-pressure unit must be provided by the customer). AIR-FIT can be mounted on the foam, polishing or wax arch and can either be sprayed generally or according to the program. Advantage of mounting to conservation arch: The blowing dryer sucks the air molecules up and distributes these with the air stream throughout the outside area of the wash center. Depending upon the local situation e.g. the scent can also be detected within the vacuuming area. A fresh scent is indicative of a clean environment and is recognized by customers.

Equipment LED lighting console

LED lighting console, mounted on backside of spray arch For visual recognization support of special programs (e.g. wax or polishing application). The LED light strip can be directed toward the foam spray so that the foam application is colourfully lit up. The light pipe system can be combined with the aluminum premium arch or the DURAPROTECT arch and consists of 3 LED light beams (1x crossbeam, 2x side piece). Unlighted light strip + presentation of 6 light colours

Drying zone Blowing dryer

Pre-drying blower AEROPRO Front side extension set made from galvanized and painted steel, designed for the basic frame of the drying blower AEROFLEX. An AEROPRO consists of two pivoting pre-drying devices with integrated blowing motor (pivoting sequence through frequency controlled electromotor).

Start setting: Air stream directed against vehicle’s front

The pre-drying devices are additionally equipped with pneumatic air vent flaps for air stream guidance. The air stream is initially directed from above against the vehicle’s front. The pre-drying devices pivot offset with the vehicle and align the air emission angle against the vehicle’s rear. The pivoting sequence enables the airstream to be held longer on the vehicle, which in turn achieves optimum drying results.

Drying blower AEROFLEX-1 Sturdy portal frame made from galvanized steel with duplex powder coating. Roof drying: A rigid roof jet made from anodized aluminum and two energy optimized blowers each with 7,5 kW motor performance and smooth running air wheels. Side dryer: 2 rigid side jets made from anodized aluminium, an energy optimized blower per side jet with selectively 7,5 kW or 5,5 kW motor performance and smooth running air wheels. Drying blower AEROFLEX-2 Frame material, side drying and add-ons same as AEROFLEX-1 (see page 49), but with alternative roof jet. Roof drying: A contour following telescope roof nozzle with light barrier system and electrical lift drive, two energy-optimized blowers (7,5kW or 5,5kW performance available) and smooth running blower wheels. Optional dryer add-on: Van dryer: For the optimizing of the drying in the upper side area. Two units with one blower each (performance: 3 kW) and a mounting console for the Aeroflex frame. Height, inclination and angle are manually adjustable.

Drying portal Evolution EVO-4S, 2 cylinders and 1 crossmitter The 2 front mounted side cylinders dry the the vehicle’s front, side and rear. The right cylinder’s (EVO-1 cylinder) opening movement is controlled by active power measurement on the electric brush drive, brush pressure controlled by a tension spring system. The left cylinder (EVO-4 cylinder) opens mechanically on the vehicle’s front by the vehicle’s forward pushing movement and follows in on the rear area mechanically because of the adjustable slanted position of the X-Rail travelling tracks (centre crossover). The electrical crossmitter then dries horizontal and upper side surfaces of the vehicle.

Drying portal Evolution EVO-1, 3 Cylinders The Follow-UP roof brush dries the horizontal surfaces and the rear area of the vehicle. The Cylinder ascends via an electric lift drive at the vehicle front and pursues the vehicle rear (pneumatic angle adjustment). The contouring side cylinders dry the vehicle front, side and rear areas. Cylinder opening controlled by active power measurement on the electric brush drive, Brush pressure controlled by a tension spring system. By using the special SENSODRY material a certain gloss effect is reached on the surface.

Dryingmitter swinging crosswise, free-standing Sturdy frame made from galvanized steel with duplex powder coating and plastic doors. The electrically driven drying mitter with its 4 DURAPROTECT receiving rockers for drying textile moves crosswise to the conveying direction of the vehicle. The mitter is installed following the blowing dryer. Its textile strips dry up remaining water drops on the vehicle’s horizontal and upper side surfaces.

TEDDYTEX® Drying strips In this model, the Teddytex strips are mounted in the dryingmitter’s 4 rockers and are attached in the clamping strip. Clamp strips are opened when changing out the material. Drying strips are exchanged and are clamped down again.

TEDDYTEX®-MICROTEX-Drying strips with active change system „Active change systems“ – basic carriers are mounted in all 4 rockers, in which the drying strips are mounted. Drying strip ends are simply pulled down and moist ends heavy from wetness slide up. Two-coloured textile stoppers prevent them from slipping out of the basic carrier and show the personnel, which strips have alreay been switched out. This enables material exchange even while the machine is in operation. Trimming: Teddytex strips for the front two rockers, extra absorbent Microtex strips for the back two rockers.

The rocker strips are washeable in the wash machine and can be dried in the wash dryer.
