Technical Data

During the roof wash, the split roof brushes move around the current collector at a sufficient safety distance. Once moving pass the current collector, the split roof brushes swing back in position in order to continue the roof surface wash. If a roof wash can not be performed due to interfering roof superstructures or due to insufficient wash hall roof height, the roof brushes are completely moved away following the front wash.

We can also handle challenging designs.

Even the cleaning of round cable car front surfaces is simply carried out by the cable car wash unit TRAM WASH. To this effect, two wash cycles performed by the roof brushes are necessary: The brushes automatically wash from top to bottom at a wash angle derived from the type of vehicle. Thereafter, the front surface wash succeeds in the opposite direction, for which the wash angle is adapted accordingly. During this procedure, the tram is in idle position. Following the front wash, the driver receives a signal to drive through the unit. In the stationary portal, the side and roof surfaces are cleaned by the rotating wash brushes.

There is a certain challenge hidden in each wash unit construction. More than 25 years of experience in building vehicle wash units has made Otto Christ AG one of the leading manufacturers of tram wash units.

The basic model of the TRAM WASH is equipped with 4 side brushes and one split roof brush. The symmetrical portal halves can be relocated to face each other. In this way, it is possible to allow the roof brushes to protrude over the centre and spotlessly wash the roof.
