V I S I O N As a worship team, our goal is to cross generational and cultural boundaries to present the body of Christ with a Rhema sound of worship through music, relationships, and accountability. We strive to equip worship leaders, singers, and musicians by assisting them in the development of their gifts, talents, and ministries, while encouraging purity of heart and a passion for Christ. - Greenhouse Worship

H E L LO !

Welcome to the Greenhouse Worship Team! It’s going to be a great season and we are looking forward to serving alongside you at our church. In this packet, we will be talking about what it means to be a part of the Greenhouse Worship Team. We will also discuss the heart behind our team and the vision for what God can do through us if we allow him. This is designed to give you a glimpse into the heart of who we are and why we do what we do as artists at Greenhouse Church. The information included here will hopefully answer any questions you may have about Greenhouse Worship and serving at our church. If anything seems unclear, please feel free to contact me. Thank you for allowing God to use you this season. It’s going to be a great one! Steve Adams Greenhouse Worship Director 352-376-6992 sadams@greenhousechurch.org

THE 4 COMMITMENTS We desire for every member of the Greenhouse Worship Team to be committed to the following: 1. COMMITTED TO GROWING SPIRITUALLY THROUGH THE WORD OF GOD. An important part of leading worship is driving the congregation to a place that is familiar to us, the intimate place we meet with the Father daily. As disciples of Christ, we want to live our lives in light of eternity and we do that through growing in the Word. “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.” - 2 Timothy 3:16-17 “Give unto the LORD the glory due to His name; Worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.” - Psalm 29:2 2. COMMITTED TO PRAY FOR THE LEADERSHIP AT THE GREENHOUSE CHURCH The leaders at our church are ever-growing and striving to take steps that heed the voice of the Lord. Through prayer, we are supporting and joining with our leaders in the vision of seeing the Father’s kingdom become a reality in our church and community.

“Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.” - Colossians 4:2

“If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” - 2 Chronicles 7:14

3. COMMITTED TO WORK ON SKILLS AND TALENTS INSIDE AND OUTSIDE OF OUR WEEKLY REHEARSALS AND SERVICES. In devoting time to improving and perfecting our skills and talents, we are giving the Lord the best of the very gifts He has so graciously given to us.

“Sing to Him a new song; Play skillfully with a shout of joy.” - Psalm 33:3

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters...” - Colossians 3:23

4. COMMITTED TO WORKING WITH THE TEAM WORSHIP LEADERS. In blending together different styles and levels of creativity, we strive to be united in working with and submitting to those who have been placed in leadership. We honor God by honoring those He has appointed and in that obedience, He is able to move more freely and abundantly. “May integrity and uprightness protect me, because my hope is in you.”- Psalm 25:21

FAQs WHO CAN GET INVOLVED? The people who are involved in singing and playing attend Greenhouse on a regular basis. They feel gifted and want to use their talents to serve our church; they have a servant’s heart and are ready and willing to serve where needed. Worship team members serve primarily at the weekend services, but may also perform at other special events. DO I HAVE TO BE A MEMBER OF GREENHOUSE CHURCH TO JOIN? You do not have to be a member in order to join. However, by joining, it is our hope that you will decide to make the commitment to go through our Next Steps classes, and officially join the Greenhouse family. WILL I BE ASKED TO PLAY OR SING EVERY WEEK? We try our best to work with everyone’s schedule. You are required to attend weekly rehearsals only if you are playing or singing that weekend. HOW LONG DO REHEARSALS LAST? Rehearsals last approximately 2.5 hours, depending on what needs to be accomplished. We usually put together 4-6 songs each week, so it takes some time to get everything just right.

TOP 10 THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT SERVING 1. Your effectiveness during a service is a direct result of how you spend your time the day before, so make sure you get plenty of rest and feel prepared both mentally and spiritually. 2. All teams serve full time during the service that they are scheduled for, as the worship leader requires. 3. The dress code (see following page) is important, so be sure to stick to it. 4. All the hard work and preparation that goes into any service is our act of worship. 5. Call time is crucial! Don’t just be “on time;” be early whenever you are serving (rehearsal, any service, etc.). If you are running late, call your team leader and let them know. 6. Weekend services are fun times, so enjoy yourself and the fellowship of those serving with you. 7. Be prepared to listen attentively to the message. 8. No one is done until everyone is done. 9. Attitude affects everyone, so always arrive with a worshipful one. 10. You are not expected to be perfect, just to give your very best!

CONCEPTS REGARDING DRESS CODE: The dress code is important. If you arrive for a weekend service and your team leader feels that your clothing is inappropriate, you may be asked to go home and change. The dress code is not intended to cramp your style or dictate what you should wear when you’re not on stage. However, when we are on stage, a different set of guidelines apply. If you have a question about the way you are dressed, you should probably re-think your outfit. Check in the mirror before you leave home. Nothing should be worn with the intention of drawing attention to yourself. Steve Adams Greenhouse Worship Director

FOLLOW THESE GUIDELINES FOR “WHAT NOT TO WEAR”: ALL • Short sleeves are cool. Shorts are not. • No midriff shirts or blouses (No one wants to see your underwear or your belly button, so be sure that all clothes cover your upper and middle body) • No flip flops • No tank tops MEN • Pants should be pulled up and not allow underwear to show. WOMEN • For sleeveless blouses or dresses, use the 3-finger rule. • No low-cut blouses. • Skirts should be knee-length or longer. • Nothing too tight-fitting

In addition, if you are interested in singing on a mic, you will also need to prepare a piece of music of your choice to sing. We will provide a keyboard, drum kit, and sound amplification at the audition. As for the audition, don’t stress out!
