Welcome to Naidex – Europe’s most established event dedicated to the care, rehabilitation and lifestyle of people with a disability or impairment. This worldrenowned event returns to Birmingham’s NEC on the 25th & 26th April for an incredible 44th year, and will propel the sector into the future of inclusion, accessibility, empowerment and efficiency. With over 12,000 visitors including thousands of forward-thinking healthcare professionals, 300 innovative suppliers, 200 expert speakers, panel sessions and brand new interactive features – this is the only exhibition where you can find the essential solutions, services and information you need to help you achieve unprecedented levels of professional growth. We at Naidex aim to create an event that caters to our visitors’ needs; and as the demand for healthcare professionals increases, so has the need for
Naidex to provide you with the highest quality content possible. And this is exactly why we have massively increased the professional presence at the show by including targeted CPD accredited content, our new feature the Moving & Handling Lab, a comprehensive seminar agenda and a host of exhibitors that supply products solely for the use of healthcare professionals. All of these new features will enable visitors to remain at the forefront of their practice. For the first time, Naidex will be running alongside the Dementia Care & Nursing Home Expo. This event is dedicated to revolutionising the care, residential and nursing home sector - providing unrivalled industry insight and showcasing the latest products, technologies and trends.
I am extremely proud to say I have been working with Naidex for many years, and I am constantly amazed at how the show empowers thousands of disabled people, supports businesses, educates and most importantly champions inclusion. Government Approaches: Assistive Technology, Disability and Inclusion
Sink or Swim? Helping Social Care Ride the Technology Wave!
Sarah Newton MP, the Minister of State for Disabled People, Health and Work, is responsible for disability issues across Government. Sarah is pleased to have been invited to speak at Naidex about work going on in Government to promote the development and use of innovations in independent living. In particular, Sarah will focus on the role of assistive technologies in work and health strategy, and improving opportunities for disability employment.
How should social care providers approach the use of technology? The opportunities are huge – but the anxieties are myriad. Will it affect the quality of care, will there be breaches of data and will I understand how to use it? This seminar will tackle these anxieties head-on and provide opportunities to explore how technology and data will shape the future of social care in all settings.
