has recently responded to the following incidents in northwest/northern Guilford County ...

ASSAULT

Aug. 5 | A Winston-Salem resident at Oak Ridge Animal Hospital on N.C. 150 in Oak Ridge reported a known suspect shoved him during an argument. Aug. 6 | A 35-year-old male was arrested at 6 a.m. in the 1000 block of N.C. 68 N/Kauri Cliffs Point in Oak Ridge for assault attempting to inflict serious injury. Aug. 11 | A 26-year-old male was arrested in the 3200 block of Allerton Circle, in Allerton Place Apartments in northwest Greensboro (off Pleasant Ridge Road), for assault on a female. turbine paint sprayer valued at $1,600 between June 13 and Aug. 4; the offender was arrested for larceny Aug. 4; the item was recovered at West Mountain Pawn in Kernersville and returned to the victim Aug. 13. Aug. 4 | A High Point resident reported an unknown suspect broke a window to her vehicle that was parked at Oak Ridge Town Park and after gaining access, stole several items; they included her Louis Vuitton purse and card holder, a pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses and a gold Apple watch, with a total estimated value of $670. Aug. 17 | A 66-year-old man was arrested at 1:16 a.m. in the 4900 block of Golden Oaks Drive in the Golden Acres neighborhood off Alcorn Road in Oak Ridge for trespassing and violating a protection order.

Two weeks before the trespassing incident the man had been arrested after firing multiple rounds from a firearm throughout the day and evening of Aug. 2 while in his home in the 4900 block of Golden Oaks Drive. Deputies who responded to a neighbor’s 911 call reported hearing multiple rounds strike nearby trees and believed residents were in danger, so the neighborhood was at one point put on lockdown; after further investigation, deputies found no evidence the gunshots were intentionally directed at other persons or property and no injuries were reported. The man was arrested at 8:30 the next morning, Aug. 3, without incident.

DOMESTIC INCIDENT

Aug. 8 | A resident of the 6700 block of W. Sandylea Road in Oak Ridge (off N.C. 150) reported she and her husband had a verbal argument. DRIVING WHILE IMPAIRED

Aug. 7 | A 35-year-old male was arrested in the 4300 block of U.S. 220 N in Summerfield for driving while impaired. Aug. 7 | A 34-year-old male was arrested at 11:30 p.m. in the 8800 block of U.S. 158 in Stokesdale for driving while impaired and also cited for driving with an open container of alcohol.
