Steven Johnson and his 5-month-old German shepherd, Ragnar, take a moment to relax together. Besides just hanging out with his human, Ragnar loves to play in the water; he also enjoys bite sleeve training with Steven as he learns about personal protection work. Best pals Toby (left), a golden retriever and hound mix, and Dolly, a chiweenie (chihuahua and dachshund mix), are beloved and very important members of the Lemons family. Dolly has lived with the family for four years; she lives inside and is the designated protector of the children. Toby recently joined the family; he lives outside and is being trained to guard the family’s chickens and rabbits.

(L-R) Annie, Crash, Tahoe and Haven all love the beach! Stokesdale resident Candace Hudson, the four dogs’ human, shared that Annie and Crash prefer running in the sand while Tahoe and Haven prefer swimming in the ocean. Hudson also stated that “each pup is a rescue that turned into a spoiled rotten dog!” Max, who lives with his humans in Stokesdale, celebrated his fourth birthday on June 28. We’re sure one blink of those brown puppy eyes got him everything on his birthday list.
