NHS staff across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough now have access to a pioneering service providing specialist mental health care and support, with a multi-disciplinary team provides rapid psychiatric assessment and treatments, psychological therapies, and tailored occupational health support. Staff can access the service via referral from NHS trust occupational health services, or their GP.

CNTW’s Involvement Service introduced a significant and new way of working in respect of our peer support workforce, with the provision of a dedicated Peer Support (Development and Well-being) Service, in 2020. The service is the first in the trust to pilot the I.ROC person led, facilitated self-assessment tool that seeks to measure recovery using the HOPE Model of well-being. After a successful submission to Health Education England, the trust was chosen to provide an educational programme in the region.

H Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is working with the Royal Horticultural Society to help hardworking NHS staff re-energise through the restorative power of ‘Vitamin G’. As part of the trust’s focus on reset and recovery following the decrease in coronavirus cases, LTHT is championing the importance of kindness, well-being, and self-care to ensure staff are rested, recovered, and ready to tackle the next big challenge.

H Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust

Within two weeks of the lockdown being introduced, Life Rooms, run by Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust, transferred their health and well-being programmes online and supported patients and the local community via telephone or guided them to clinical support when necessary. Between April 2020 and March 2021, the initiatives included 461 Zoom learning sessions helping people with their health and well-being, which generated over 20,000 views.

H Yorkshire Ambulance Service

Last year more than 23,000 emergency calls were made across Yorkshire regarding mental health - an increase of 17 per cent since 2018. In July, Yorkshire Ambulance Service began piloting a mental health response vehicle to provide dedicated support to patients who are in mental health crisis. Launched in the Hull area for an initial four-month period in April 2021, the vehicle is operated by ambulance staff who have had additional mental health training.
