The current market offers promising opportunities for both buyers and sellers. Mortgage rates, while slightly higher than their mid-September low of 6.11%, remain favorable, driving demand up by 20% in Orange County and 16% in San Diego year-over-year.
For buyers, now is an opportune time to take advantage of lower rates, as significant decreases are unlikely with future Federal Reserve cuts already factored into current rates. Sellers, on the other hand, are facing rising inventory and longer market times—69 days in Orange County and 80 days in San Diego. However, with the holidays approaching, both inventory and demand are expected to slow, resulting in a more balanced market.
