President Message

Dear Passionate Readers!

Warmest greetings from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia!

It gives me an immense pleasure to welcome you to our JCI Kuala Lumpur Quarterly Newsletter. This newsletter is not only a compilation of articles, but more importantly, it is a journey back in time, reminiscing beautiful memories and past events that have been the stronghold of JCI Kuala Lumpur all these years.

Every year, the Chapter’s Board of Directors change as they hit their term limit and a new crop of directors as well as future leaders join the Board. This rotation is what makes the Chapter strong and progressive. As for my message as 2018 JCI Kuala Lumpur President, I would like to thank all past Board members who have served the Chapter and volunteered thousands of hours to make the Chapter better.

The past three months have been full of exciting and memorable events to capture both the hearts and minds of our young active citizens and lovely audience. I would like to take this opportunity to thank our 2018 President Jc. Mk Yuen, our Board of Directors, and all the members as well as aspiring members for their relentless support and always offer their precious time to present for any event.

Second, I would like to welcome the 2018 JCI Kuala Lumpur Board of Directors! I know you will do many great things for the Chapter and create positive change. On top of that, I would like to extend my sincerest thanks and appreciation to our Secretary General, Jc. Shirley Pang for taking up the challenge to be the editor of JCI Kuala Lumpur 2018 Newsletter.

As famous violinist Jascha Heifetz said, “There is no top. There are always further heights to reach”. I believe with the continuing support from the Board of Directors’ and close relationship between our members will contribute enormously to our local organization to reach greater heights at both Local and International spheres.

The presidential theme for the year 2018 is “Joyful, Commitment, Integrity, Knowledge, Lead” as I believe that we must first lead ourselves before we can lead others.

As the JCI slogan says: Be Better. It is not only the possible improvements to the environment and people around us, but also our responsibility to be better than we were yesterday! I wish all of you a pleasant journey back in time with these sharings!

Jc. Shirley Pang JCI KL Secretary General

Change begins with me. If you cannot lead yourself, how will you make a difference? Leadership is demanding and it requires an elevated sense of mastery with practice, skills, and commitment. In JCI Kuala Lumpur, we believe that we learn more when we learn together. Together we are one. “If we can laugh together, definitely we can work together”! Keep Learning to Lead! A champion will live by this code, “Go Win or Go Home”!

Jc. MK Yuen JCI KL President
