Simon Franc and Alan Fall teamed up to win the eight-goal Committee Cup in 2023. Their wonderfully named Mad Lemons squad narrowly defeated the MacLennans’ Mono Polo team 7–6. The scores were level after three chukkas (5–5) but goals from Rufino Merlos and Pedro Harrison, to only one in reply from Rosendo Torreguitar, who was later named Most Valuable Player, ensured Mad Lemons won the match. Pedro Harrison headed home with the Polo Times Best Playing Pony prize for Aaron.
Thilo Sautter’s Kilnwood Park, receiving half a goal on handicap, took the honours in the sub final. This team, also featuring Sautter’s son Leander, beat Signet Wealth
6½–5 across four chukkas. u
