In today’s increasingly competitive and volatile business world, it is important to improve productivity consistently. Productivity improvement, which is one of the core strategies
towards manufacturing excellence and good financial & operational performance, is to do the right things better and make it a part of
continuous process. In the words of Peter Drucker – “Productivity means a balance between all factors of production that will give the
maximum output with the smallest effort”. Therefore, it is important to adopt efficient productivity improvement techniques so as to
ensure an individual’s and organisation’s growth in productivity. And this calls for superior machining processes, best manufacturing
practices, appropriate automation, efficient machines and smart manpower. The same was discussed at length during the National
Productivity Summit by IMTMA, held recently in Pune.
