Rev. Elizabeth Gilbert Matthew 9:14-17 “Happy New Year!” That’s the greeting often heard this time of year. We’ve quickly moved beyond the Christmas celebration and are anticipating a brand new year. Back in the day we would have taken the old calendar off the kitchen wall and hung a new one. In the digital age, the calendar rolls over without much effort on our part. And yet, a fresh, new year stretches out in front of us. How will we mark the passing of the old and celebrate the new this year? How will we actually make this year something new? The Bible says... “So if anyone is in Christ, there is a new creation: everything old has passed away; see, everything has become new!” With Jesus we get the opportunity for a fresh start. More than making New Year’s resolutions this year, we can be made new with new hope, new vision, and new possibility for the year ahead. Celebrate the new year with Jesus and look forward to a him doing a new thing in you this year!

Bible Explorers Dig Into Faith in 2017 PUMC values children, their families, and faith experiences that are ageappropriate, meaningful and fun. In PUMC’s children’s ministries you’ll find that careful attention has been given to provide children a safe, comfortable, and engaging learning experience. On Sunday mornings, children may be taken directly to their classroom where parents will meet caring teachers, provide helpful information about the children, and register their children for secure pick-up: Infant/Toddler Care is provided during all Sunday morning worship and classes (8:15 a.m. – Noon). Classroom (# 5) is in the hallway south of the sanctuary and main entrance.
3’s – Pre-K meet Sunday mornings 9:50 - 10:45 a.m. in room # 20/22. Children participate in interactive learning through Bible storytelling, games, snacks and crafts. Bible Explorers, Kindergarten – Grade 5 start their Sunday mornings in room # 107 with a small breakfast, high energy worship, games, and Bible lessons. Guided by an adult leader, the children then move to grade level groups for a deeper dive into the lesson and prayer time. Contact PUMC Children’s Director Amanda Norton at anorton@pumc. org or 317.839.2319, ext. 229, to learn more.
