There are two ways to think about packing for a trip. One is to pack light, taking only the essentials so that you can move quickly and freely. If you’ve left something important behind, you’ll make due or pick it up on the way. The other is to pack for every eventuality, taking everything you know you’ll need and everything you think might need. You want to be comfortable and sure to have every thing you desire at hand. It might make travel a bit slower and more cumbersome, but you won’t lack for anything - or will you?
What are you taking with you into this new year? Are you maybe carrying more stuff than you need? While it might be a difficult habit to develop, traveling light with Jesus makes the journey easier. Forget what you’ve left behind and move into the new year with less baggage. You’ll cover a lot more ground and find the travel easier!
