Our society loves to measure things. It literally starts the moment we’re born – doctors evaluate newborns to gauge their appearance, reflexes, and breathing, to measure their health out of the womb. In school, we're graded in academic subjects like reading, math, and science. In the business world, we have key performance indicators to see if a project or plan is meeting its objectives. In sports, we pay attention to touchdowns, home runs, baskets made, personal bests and more. We measure our abilities in art, music, parenting — we can even measure our happiness level!
But when it comes to being a follower of Jesus, which measures should we be focusing on? How do we know if we’re being the kind of Christian God is calling us to be?
