Many days it seems that our goal is to pack in as much as we can. And to be fair, there is much expected of us on any given day - - jobs, kids, house, youth sports, after-school activities, out with friends, visit the family, get groceries, stop at the bank. Whew! It's exhausting just thinking about all that we have to do! It's (mostly) all good, and we wouldn't trade (most of) our lives for anything different. But we also have days when we wonder if we can keep up the pace. We find ourselves overwhelmed by all that we want and need to do and wonder if we'll ever have another peaceful moment to enjoy.
Some dream about that peaceful time that is still years down the road... "I'll have plenty of time to rest and relax after the kids are grown and gone." Or we rationalize our break-neck work pace with, "When I retire, I'll have plenty of time for rest." But what about right now, today, this week? Peace and quiet is not just something to wish for. Peace and rest is something Jesus...
